Chapter 305 - The Deep Sea Battle

"General, don't worry. I can guarantee this mission will be a complete success!" Li Yue replied confidently to General Lin.

Unlike the others concerned about the situation, Li Yue remained calm and unworried. After all, despite their strength, these monsters were no real threat to him. If he wanted, he could eliminate them in a single strike. However, Li Yue had yet to do so.

The monsters that emerged from the portal had yet to attack Li Yue and his team immediately. Instead, they waited near the pit, seemingly for their companions to join them. Once all six monsters had gathered, they fixed their gaze on the Jaegers, assessing them for weaknesses.

"Everyone, I'll handle the two Category V monsters. The rest are up to you," Li Yue declared. Without waiting for a response, he charged forward, wielding his massive three-pointed, double-edged sword.

Seeing Li Yue rush towards them, the monsters reacted swiftly, moving like agile fish to meet him.

...

"Is he insane? Rushing headlong into battle like that?" The other pilots couldn't believe what they were seeing. They had undergone rigorous training, knowing that fighting these monsters required identifying their weaknesses and exploiting their openings. Caution and strategy were crucial, especially underwater, where the Jaegers were disadvantaged.

Yet, Li Yue ignored all these protocols, charging in alone without waiting for the rest of the team.

"What should we do? Wait here or follow him?" asked Raleigh Becket, the protagonist, clearly unsure.

"He's the core of this mission. We can't just let him rush to his death. We need to support him," replied one of the Eureka Striker pilots. Without further hesitation, they moved to assist Li Yue.

However, the pilots of Cherno Alpha were even quicker. The two Russians, known for their fearless nature, didn't hesitate to follow Li Yue into the fray. With two of their team already engaging, the remaining Jaegers had no choice but to join the fight.

...

In the deep sea, the scene resembled two gangs clashing, both sides charging at each other with fierce determination. Li Yue's side moved slower while the monsters, at home in the water, advanced rapidly.

Despite the several hundred meters between them, the gap closed quickly. Far ahead of his companions, Li Yue was about to engage with the two leading Category V monsters. As the distance dwindled to mere meters, Li Yue remained calm, making no move until the last moment.

The monsters, jaws wide open, aimed to tear Li Yue apart. But just as they were about to reach him, Li Yue, from within his Jaeger, released a pre-prepared burst of spatial energy. This energy merged with Earth's space, forming a mirror-like barrier fifty meters wide in front of one of the monsters.

The barrier, though underwater, reflected light and emitted a sound like breaking glass. The monster, unable to react in time, crashed into it. Surprisingly, it passed through without resistance or pain but emerged utterly intact on the other side. However, the monster had vanished entirely to its bewildered companion and everyone watching.

This seemingly magical event stunned the Jaeger pilots and those in the command centre. One moment, two Category V monsters were charging; the next, one had simply disappeared.

Li Yue didn't concern himself with the monster banished to the sub-dimension. Instead, he swung his giant blade, aiming for the remaining monster. The timing was perfect; the blade cut through the water, striking the monster's massive body and leaving a long, deep wound that bled blue.

Despite the injury, the monster was far from defeated. The Jaeger's strength was insufficient, or the monster's hide was too harsh. The creature swerved, spraying more blue blood, but managed to evade further attacks and quickly retreated to a safe distance before charging again.
