Chapter Ten
Emily finished her work, she took her bag to go home for the day when she heard a noise from her boss's office. She ran into the room and saw Ryan sweating with his eyes closed, he was shaking in fear. Emily moved closer to him and shake him gently to wake him. Ryan jerked back to reality and looked at his environment before staring curiously at the woman in front of him.
"What happened to you boss? Are you having a nightmare?" She asked curiously
"Get out!!!!..." He screamed at her angrily as she rush out in fear.
Emily called her other boss to give him her weekly report after leaving the office
"Sir, I got something that looks strange today" She started slowly
"Good, am writing Emily continue" Her boss replied as he write down
"He has a secret. I mean a deep secret that haunt him even in his dreams" She muttered slowly
"How do you know that Emily?" He asked curiously
"I heard a noise from his office when I was about going home so I rushed down there to see but what i saw shocked me.. I saw him sweating in fear with his eyes closed" She explained
"Did he say anything in that moment?" He asked curiously
"No sir, he was just shaking" she replied
"Good work Emily.. am impressed at your work, well done" He replied and hang up

Emily keep her phone in her bag as she wait patiently for the bus. She saw the bus stopped in front of her as she entered gently. She recall what she saw in his office and felt sad.
Ryan was angry that a stranger saw his weakness, he stayed over in the office to work refusing to go home. He took his coffee and continue his work.
Two days later, Ryan was in his office when his friend Carlos paid him a visit.
"Aren't you happy to see your only friend?" Carlos said smiling at his friend for staring at him in shock
"Didn't you say, you had shitload of works to do? So why are you here in my office Carlos?" Ryan asked curiously
"Well, I missed my best friend and I can't live without you" He said as Ryan roll his eyes at him
"Don't start again with your jokes Carlos, am not in the mood" Ryan replied coldly
"When are you ever going to be in the mood? Or when have you ever been in the mood?" Carlos said jokily and smiled at him
"Am not here for your jokes Carlos, just go straight to the point" Ryan said
"Ryan you looked miserable, are you okay? You haven't slept for long or you didn't even sleep at all?" Carlos asked feeling worried for his wife
"I didn't sleep at all Carlos, I can't sleep.. this nightmare is getting out of hands and I am worried very worried that I might die any moment" he replied
"And you don't want to share it with me? You only told me about your nightmare and besides I saw it myself. What are we going to do about it Ryan?" Carlos asked calmly
"I don't know Carlos, this is too much on me" Ryan replied softly
"I believe you should see a therapist" Carlos suggested
"I don't think so, what would a therapist do for me? I can't pinpoint what's causing this nightmares so how will a complete stranger explain it to me? Is the therapist Daniel in the bible? My life is not a fairytale that need an interpreter to tell me what am facing Carlos" Ryan commented coldly.
"Even though, I still believe you need to see a therapist? Tell someone about your dreams, don't hide it to yourself Ryan, you will only hurt yourself.. Is not necessarily you talk to a therapist about your problem but find someone you trust" Carlos said
"I can't trust anyone like that Carlos, you knew what that has caused me? I can't trust people Carlos" Ryan Said
"Ryan, I saw something about your nightmares online" Carlos started
"what?Let me check" Ryan said, took out his phone and saw his name appear in the front page of his phone. He clicked on it and read silently before he looked at his friend
"I was also wondering who could have done such a wicked act. You know the annoying part, people are expecting too much from this anonymous reporter"; Carlos said
"I will kill that reporter but who gave the person that details? Is only someone who knows about my nightmares that can disclose that detail Carlos" Ryan said slowly
"Think about those who has seen you in that state before" Carlos suggested calmly
"You knew about it Carlos, my parents does, and hmm!!!!... I don't know but yes!!!!!!... My new secretary saw me two days ago" He said hurriedly and put a call through to his secretary. The door of his office opened and Emily entered gently
"Sir, you send for me?" Emily said hurriedly
"Yes, did you disclose my secret to any reporter or are you a reporter on your own?" Ryan asked curiously
"No sir, and what secret is that?" She said
"Don't try to play smart with me woman" Ryan said, stood up angrily
"Ryan pls calm down, talk to her softly" Carlos said to calm him down
"She is the only stranger who knew about my secret and I believe she told someone, I just can't figure out who she told about it" Ryan said harshly
"You should be calm enough to figure it out from her" Carlos started softly as Ryan sit down back calmly.
"Tell me the truth ma'am, did you tell anyone about what you saw two days ago even if is your close or best friend or whatever?" Ryan asked, staring at her
"No sir, I don't even remember what happened that day.. why would I discuss what's going on in the office to stranger?" She asked softly
"You should ask yourself that woman.. listen here Miss Emily Walton, if I hear that it was you that disclose this matter. I swear I will destroy you myself except if God himself said otherwise. That I promise you.. Get out!! Get out!!!!.. " He screamed at her angrily, Emily quickly ran out.
"You shouldn't shout at her like that Ryan, she's a woman.. have never seen you shout at woman like that, what happened?" Carlos asked curiously
"I'm suspecting that strange girl from the very first day I saw her. She seem so familiar but I just can't pinpoint where... I will research about her and I promise to destroy her cuz I know she told someone and the person published it out to humiliate me" Ryan said harshly
"Have never seen you so sure about something like this matter, I will join you too" Carlos said, he hug his friend and left the room
Ryan looked so angry and frustrated, he wasn't expecting this now. He closed in eyes and silently pray to God to give him peace of mind
"God, I don't know you but have heard about you mostly that you created us in your own image. You may have blessed the works of my hands but I don't have peace at least for once. I do no one any aharm in my life except that day incident and it wasn't intentional. Please lord, help me and give me peace. If there is no peace for me, pls kindly take my life. I am tired...." He prayed silently to God as he wept quietly
Emily feel so guilty and silently prayed to God that Ryan would not find the truth or else she's doomed. She wanted to tell him the truth but sh is scared of his actions.
