Emily got home very late around 6pm in the evening. She dropped her bag in the room, she lives in a apartment of one room and a parlour with kitchen. She opened her room and changed her clothes, took out her laptop to the parlour to work. She typed the name of Ryan Collins and saw little article on him but only a job offer as the temporary secretary. She felt so sad, closed the system and went into the kitchen to prepare her meal.
Ding!!!!!...Ding!!!!!!!... Her phone rang in the parlour. She quickly clean her hands with a small cloth and picked the call. She saw the caller's name Monica
"Monica, what do I own this suddenly call this evening? Hope everything is fine ?" She asked curiously
"Is it a crime to call my twin sister?" She asked from the other side
"You strongly know that you never call except if you need my help... So what up this time? She asked sarcastically
"Actually yes, I need you help." She confessed gently
"What happened this time Monica... Is mom and dad okay?" She asked worried
"Those two are perfectly okay and strong but I called for myself. I need you help with a work here... My boss gave me an assignment but I have no clue on how to go about it and strangely this days, she suspect me even more than before." She commented slowly
"When you collected this job or even even before, you were suppose to learn about this work of yours... Is not that hard Monica, just browse online and learn by yourself. I have shitload of work here with me and you know I can't come to your place to defend your work because we are far away from each other... You got this Monica, stop depending on me for help. I can't help you forever" she explained softly
"Please spare the lectures... I have a party to go today and tomorrow with my friends but I can't because of this work.. I don't want to lose my job Emily, help your sister this one time" she pleaded
"No Monica, do this work yourself.. You are not a kid anymore, you are old enough to manage everything on your own. You need to choose between your work or fun?.." she said
"Emily you are my twin sister not my enemy" She yelled a little at her
"And that's why I'm saying this to you Monica" Emily replied calmly but Monica hang up on her.
Monica hang up the call and hissed in anger. "Who does she think she is? That foolish girl called herself my twins sister yet she can't help me this once? I can't afford to lose this job buy this clubbing is very important to me.. why should I do? " She thought silently
Emily dropped her phone and resume back to work in the kitchen. Thinking through how to start her official duty tomorrow morning. She finished her food, ate and walked gently to her room to sleep.
The following morning, Emily got up quick, dressed up in most professional outfit and board a bus to the Lian's company. She entered calmly, greeted everyone at the reception and climbed upstairs. She saw the secretary office, entered and greeted her softly
"Good morning ma... I am Emily Walton... " She greeted, stretched out her hand to shake as the secretary join her hand with hers
"What happened Miss Emily?.. " she asked calmly
"I am here for a job, I saw a poster yesterday online" she replied
"Okay, that's good. I need to go on a maternity leave in three days time." She explained
"I will tell the boss about you ma'am" she said took out the telecom to call through to her boss. He instructed her to interview the person herself and give her the job if she want.
"Have you ever work as a secretary in any organization?" She asked, took out her jotter and pen
"Yes, I worked as a secretary at cos Augusto for two years before relocating back here" she explained as she brought out her file. The ones she submitted before getting her job as the reporter.
"Good Emily, I am very impressed. Congratulations Miss Emily Walton, you can start work tomorrow" She said, gave her an handshake as she smiled at Emily.
"Thank you ma.. I really appreciate your kindness" Emily said and smiled at her
"You need to come to the office earlier than our boss, he comes early, he hates latecomers and I won't want you to have any issues with him. I won't be available tomorrow but I will surely come the next to give him my letter" She said
"I thought you said this job is temporary?" Emily asked curiously
"Yes Emily, is temporary but that's the rule of this office... we are expected to drop out resignation letter even though is temporary but we are free to write temporary and genuine reason for your departure.. I hope you understand me?" She asked softly
"Yes ma'am I understand you clearly but please what is your name?" Emily asked curiously
"Ohhh my bad!!!... My name is Katie Jerry" she replied
" Nice meeting Mrs Jerry" she said, smiled at her
"pleasure is mine Emily, I wish you the best with your new job and boss. Our boss is tough but lovely and so caring" she replied softly
"Thank you ma'am.. Thank you so much" Emily replied and smiled happily. Her first mission completed.
Emily strongly wish she could see her new boss before going back home for the day but sadly he stayed all day in his office. She quietly walked out of the company.
