Joe's POV
The sun was at its highest and the ground felt fresh in the fields, the sky was a baby blue with multiple clouds out and the wind was fresh to the touch on my skin, I could hear the other students inside laughing and talking, it was a good day for me for I was going to finally talk to Rosalie about moving her into the pack house and allow her to stay there for I was going to be shifting tonight and taking over from my father, we set a date to fight for the spot and my father told me that he would not go easy to show those that just because he was his father doesn't mean that he would just give the title to him. Rosalie was someone that supported me through all the struggles that I had going on in my life as we grew up and now it was my turn to return the favor, my little brother Jack was not all too fond of Rosalie for she did not have a wolf and it made him uncomfortable to be around a human that was untouchable due to me being the one to defend her when being bullied by other pack members.
I could smell something so good that it made my mouth water, Maple and Vanilla mixed with chocolate and Pine trees, I looked everywhere to see where the smell was coming from and couldn't figure it out my wolf was stirring and whimpering as he called out MATE! My legs froze as I heard a scream come from inside the school and students laughing, I turned around to find Rosalie covered in paint and grease, Meranda who was an alpha she-wolf that transferred from our alliance packs walked out to Rosalie and was saying something to her as she pushed Rosalie to the ground, my wolf stirred as I darted to protect Rosalie, approaching her the scent I smelt earlier smashed into my nostrils and my mouth watered I stared at Rosalie in shock as I said, out loud MATE! Everyone froze on the spot and backed away slowly, a whimper was heard from Meranda as she pulled me away from Rosalie which upset Jay Jay my wolf causing a growl to escape from my mouth and terrify Meranda.
Rosalie stared at me in disbelief as she looked at how hurt Meranda was, Rosalie looked at me as if I just betrayed many years of friendship between us, Jay Jay whined as our mate stared at us with such horror and hate. "Meranda there is nothing between Joe and me, we are just friends and him calling me to mate is a joke we have between one another!" "Yeah right! Do you think I was born yesterday? I was promised to Joe by my family and his, I don't think his father would be too happy to know that a wolfless child would be his son's, fated mate! He will have him marry me and have you banished from his pack for even thinking of seducing his son to choose you over me!" my jaw dropped as I heard her say this and my face contorted as my wolf tried to take control, he was angered at what she just said and was ready to tear apart Meranda for even thinking about coming in between me and my fated mate. Rosalie stared at Meranda as her heart broke from her words, all I wanted to do was hold my mate and comfort her and reassure her that she would become Luna whether she had a wolf or not! But before I could go to her Rosalie ran away and went back to her aunt's house, I stared in the direction in which she ran and when she was no longer in site, I turned to Meranda when I felt her hand on my wrist, "Get your nasty clammy hand off of my wrist, how dare you think you can take my Lunas place! Fate is a fate I would choose her over a pack whore any day!" Tears began to flow out of her eyes as she stared at me and told me with all that she had, " YOU ARE MY MATE HOW DARE YOU CHOOSE HER OVER ME! " It felt like my world just exploded as I heard her words, "I Joe future alpha of the Blood River Pack REJECT Meranda Rolos of Green Leaf Wind Pack as my Mate!" screaming could be heard from Meranda as I said the last word as I watched her body hit the ground as she gripped her heart, "I Reject your..." I growl at her viciously "ACCEPT MY REJECTION!" my commanding aura forces her to accept my rejection. " I Meranda future alpha/Luna of Green Leaf Wind Pack Accept your rejection." I fall to my knees as pain strikes me causing my body to feel like lightning hit my body and tearing it apart after what felt like an eternity I stand as I walk to Rosalie's Aunt's house to have her accept me as her mate so she may move into my house and become my Luna.
