My conversation with Samuel was the exact opposite of Roger's conversation with Tom. Sam was not a fool, however after my actions today, his trust in me had increased to the point where he sees me as a heroic figure. He has no clue about me whatsoever... It's better that way.
"By the way, why are you hanging out with a hunter? Roger told me that we metahumans have bad blood with them," Samuel asked casually, this was an act of his. He knew that the metahumans had a bad blood with the hunters for a long time, but he wanted to hear my opinion on them by asking such a question.
"What good is bad blood if all of us are going to die anyway? Armageddon is gonna strike us soon enough, it's the end of the world... Why would I care about our bad blood now? We are both born in the same world, share the same goal and fight for the right cause. Yes, there maybe be differences in our ways but in the end... all of us want to save this world, we want to protect Earth," I said turning to face Samuel. "Is it not the time we start trusting each other?"
'As expected of an Allen, he always puts the world above himself. He values it's people more than his life,' Samuel thought. "Looks like I was the blind one."
"Don't fret about it, if it's you, you can get along with them just like I did," I said, smiling.
"Are all Allen family members as friendly as you or?" Samuel asked with a straight face.
"It runs in our blood, making friends is one of our specialities," I answered.
"No wonder the people of central city adore you lot," Samuel said to himself. "They are lucky to be under your jurisdiction."
"I wouldn't say that, the villians in our city are really annoying to deal with, I was thinking about strengthening the security around Iron Heights but unfortunately there were some business issues in the commercial district. I never got the chance to strengthen the security before I got here," I explained.
Actually I was trying to get the villains in Central City under my control, the Rogues may not be the strongest but they sure are annoying to deal with. They are highly skilled in the art of excape and small scale invasions. They could be useful pawns in my plans, if I can take over them.
The Assassins Syndicate is just the start, if I wanted to change the entire storyline I would need control over everything, the Rogues, Assassins Syndicate, and even the Arkham villains...
Honestly, I wish to keep my distance between those Arkham maniacs but I hate to deny it that they will provide a huge help in my plans.
Urgh... Even thinking about them makes me sick.
"Anyways I should go back now, Dr. Reinhardt asked me not to sleep early today for you know... Overuse of stamina," I said, showing a bit of fatigue on my face.
"Alright, I will leave first then," Samuel said, running towards the male dorms at full speed.
Crackle
"Phew, now that he is gone... Are you going to show yourself?" I asked, turning around.
"I did what you asked for, though... Couldn't you have done it yourself?" a voice came out of the dark hallways as the person who said the words came into my view. Yes, it was Crowley, however his current attire was completely different from back when I summoned him at Annsecundus. He wore a green shirt with a white lab coat on top along with a square shaped spectacle. His hair was adjusted differently and his eyes were golden instead of red.
"I know what you are thinking but she can detect my lies as I told you, it was better for you to explain it to her than me. I will explain the next half to her myself," I said. "You still need to play your role, isn't that right? Reinhardt?"
"I hate that name every time I hear it... Well since my part it done, I will take my leave for the day, I got kids to teach now," Crowley said with an annoyed expression.
"Looks like you found the right meaning to my words," I said, smiling in my head.
"Shut up, I wasn't moved by your words. You asked me to teach those kids so I will teach them accordingly, you assigned me a task, I complete tasks, that's it," Crowley replied, knowing well that it wasn't the case.
Since I couldn't directly lie to a lie detector, I needed Crowley (Reinhardt) to tell Sylvia about John's condition and ask her to tell me to stay away from him for his own good. This would impact her less upon knowing that I plan to use his condition to my advantage. It would also take care of the emotional part since, I am not fine at all. However, it's ok to lie about the last part.
Plus, when demons take over a body, all of the bodily functions (including the functions that we can't control) are totally in their control which means lie detectors won't work on them.
"You are a great actor, call it a praise if you want but putting on a mask to hide your intentions and putting on a mask to hide your emotions are vastly different. I still don't get how you are able to function in that state. If it was me in your place, I would have broken down a long time ago," Crowley said, walking away from me.
"He is not wrong in that part. Honestly, all of you Allen members are emotionally very strong, even I would find it hard to carry your emotions," Ryuk stated.
'Perks of being an Allen,' I replied, looking out of the window. 'Alfred was right, you know? Ours wounds don't heal with time... Instead time makes our wounds worse.'
"Time is a bitch, huh?" I said to myself.
