Chapter 12 - Among us.

The room is tidy like always, and there is a plethora of books on his bed, he is reading, Heath Duncan is reading.

"You read?" I asked confused.

"Not really, but I went around asking how to woe a girl and they recommended some good books," he says with a smug, I roll my eyes, still at the 'trying to woe you' lie.

"How are you finding the process?" I asked.

"Confusing," he says, "first most men have what I have you know, typical playboys a lot of money."

He says, I cannot help but laugh he is trying to get relationship advice off romance books? Like, how he expects fictional lies writers tell to be true.

"Since I haven't woe the girl it seemed I am left with a few options, I either have to be a mafia boss, a vampire, an alpha or a king."

I burst out laughing with the seriousness of his voice, "you find this funny huh? You are the one making go through this," he grumbles.

"Maybe we should research deeper into these books, maybe we will find some helpful information," I teased in between gags.

He smirked at me, clearly up to no good before asking, "are you sure you want to help?"

I nod, whatever he is planning would not work on me, I am a strong woman, and he would never break me.

"Sit down first there is a book I haven't checked yet, maybe it has the information we all need," he says with a smirk.

I looked around for a chair, but it seemed I had to sit on his bed, I looked at him and he was still staring at me with a smug, back down from a challenge? Me? I could never.

Once we all settled down, he whips up a book from the bunch, "so this is the book," he says handing it to me. I fear it might be some spicy book that might get me all riled up reading it.

The title alone is enough to make my eyes blurry, I look at him and he still smirks at me.

'Are you out of your mind?" I ask.

"No," he shrugs innocently, "come on let's read, you need glasses?"

I took a deep breath, I walked right into this one, and I know I did, "Goldilocks and the three bears," I read aloud, and he burst out laughing.

"This is not a romantic book," I grumble.

"Come on stop judging and start reading," he says, he moves to sit closer to me before laying his head on my shoulder.

I rolled my eyes before I started reading the book, he seems really happy about me reading, and for some reason I enjoy reading this book.

I finally finished reading the book, and Heath is asleep on my shoulder, wow, he really made me read him a bedtime story, this fool. His mommy issues are sure showing.

I gently adjusted him to the bed so he sleeps well, I could have just violently pushed him, but I am nice, most of the time.

"No…. stay," he says tugging my hand, "please."

Ugh… I hate how he acts vulnerable to get what he wants, because for some reason I always have the urge to give him what he wants.

"Scoot for a bit, I will only cuddle for a few minutes," I say, he smiles happily before moving enough for me to fit.

We both cuddle in that small bed, "this is nice," he says.

"Stop talking before I change my mind," I say, he chuckles before burying his head on my nape, I feel goosebumps, this is a dangerous game I am playing, and I think I am losing.

Guess what, I wake up in his bed the next morning, predictable much, "Ugh…." I groaned, Heath was not in the room when I woke up, I got off his bed and prepared for my walk of shame.

"So much for cuddling for a few minutes," I hear him say, oh he was in the bathroom, I roll my eyes.

"You should have woken me up," I grumble.

"But you look so cute when you sleep," he teased, I hate this man, him and all his wet towel handing over his waist and his tired wet hair hanging over his face, I could help but gulp.

All those good unholy things those hands did to my body, comes back to mind, I want to experience them all over again.

I am brought back to the earth by a chuckle, his annoying chuckle, "I am leaving," I grumble.

"You can use my shower if you want, I am not as greedy and mean as you," he yells but I ignore him.

As I open the door, I meet Esther who was about to knock on Heath's door, what a lucky woman I am. It has officially been confirmed, I am hexed.

"Oh… hey, I just came by to see if Heath has any um…. Shampoo I can use, yeah, I happen to finish mine," I lie, it seems Esther doesn't believe me either, because she is glaring at me like I just stole something from her. Girl, get a grip, if you want Heath, you can have him.

"Is that so?" she says, "well I came to check on Mr. Duncan since he wasn't in last night."

She diverts her eyes to half naked Heath before she started drooling, "I am going to go and get ready for the day," I say lazily, leaving the two.

Heath says something but I didn't hear him over all that jealousy I was feeling, I mean over that serious emotion that should not be named.

I had quickly got ready to meet Selby for a morning workout, since she promised to join me last night.

After the gym we joined everyone for breakfast, where Esther was all over Heath who for some reason looked uncomfortable.

"Ugh...." I groaned, I contemplated if I should help him or not, "Esther how has it been helping Clover? Do you travel with your patients often."

Esther didn't seem to like me interrupting her flirting with Heath, but I was just trying to help her keep her dignity because the man was not interested at all.

"No this is the first time," she says clearly annoyed, she continued to talk to Heath, I just shrugs at him showing I tried to help.

We decided to spend the day touring around the ship, with Heath running away from Esther. I had decided to part away from the group to get some air.

"So, are you having fun?" stupid Carl asked.

"Yes, I was until you opened your smelly mouth," I say moving away from him, he snorts loudly, and I just rolled my eyes.

It was nice to walk around the ship, I decided to stand a little on the deck watching the waves. I will join the group later on; I needed the break.

"Good day passengers this is your captain speaking, we will be reaching Madagascar by dawn tomorrow," I hear the telecom go off.

It seems we will be reaching land soon, can't wait to explore Madagascar in the three days we are there. I am thankful I never had any motion sicknesses.

But a few moments after standing on the deck, I felt hands on my back, before I tumbled down to the ocean, screaming for help.

As I hit the freezing water, I looked over to the ship which was moving away from where I was, I was being left behind, no one seemed to have even noticed me going overboard. Am I dying at sea?
