A man clad in silver armor with flowing brown hair, wielding a greatsword that emits a faint, holy light—he embodies the quintessential image of a traditional hero of light.
However, his eyes radiate an eerie, ghostly white glow... This is a signature characteristic, befitting a figure from the urban legends of Minecraft.
Herobrine, the infamous "White-Eyed Player"... The mere fact that he supposedly exists is astonishing, and beyond that, there isn't much more information about him.
It's precisely this lack of intel that makes confronting him so difficult.
What's more, his greatsword is oddly adorned with an orange block featuring nine indicator lights. Ah, this complicates matters even further.
A Command Block—in Minecraft, what's commonly referred to as a command is akin to a cheat code.
However, anyone who has delved deeply into the game knows that the concept of commands holds much greater significance.
To put it more artistically, commands embody limitless possibilities.
They can create worlds—worlds that players have dreamed of.
But on the flip side of this limitless creativity is the power to destroy everything.
Although the information we got from Zakarina suggests that the use of the Command Block by the person before us is restricted... It's precisely because of so many unknowns that, even with our group of five Vassals, this opponent remains incredibly daunting.
The Hero King before us seems to share the same sentiment, merely watching us with a faint, mocking smile.
Under the incessant sound of rain, the tension between both sides becomes palpable, like a powder keg waiting to ignite.
"You say I took your body?" I asked, my right hand discreetly signaling a preparation gesture behind my back.
"...Have you ever wondered why we bear almost the same appearance?" The Hero King twirled his greatsword before planting it firmly into the ground.
Why do the player character Steve and Herobrine share the same appearance?
That urban legend's image has been established since the beginning, yet it seems no one has ever thought to question it.
But perhaps that answer isn't so important right now.
After all, I was just buying time!
My right hand signaled a change, and at that moment, eight water spears spread out from behind me.
Under Derisha's command, they shot towards the Hero King like a torrential downpour!
Using the water spears as a signal, Zakarina and Krista simultaneously launched their lightning-fast assault!
Flames, rocks, and water surged forth!
However, at that very moment, the Command Block embedded in the greatsword stabbed into the ground emitted a brilliant rainbow light. A wave of energy rapidly spread from it.
It turns out we weren't the only ones stalling for time!
The moment that wave swept over me, my vision was consumed by darkness, and the status effect Blindness appeared in my status bar!
A status ailment directly inflicted by the Command Block!
I quickly reached into my Inventory and pulled out a Milk Pill, crushing it between my teeth. My vision immediately cleared, and around me, my companions were all spitting out the remnants of dirt shells from their own emergency rations.
Distributing these items to everyone in advance just in case had proven to be a lifesaver.
We had barely managed to regain our bearings when we noticed that the battlefield had taken on a strange, ominous atmosphere.
The Hero King had vanished at some point, replaced by a sudden cacophony coming from the skies behind us.
The clanging of armor, the beating of wings, and an earth-shattering dragon's roar echoed from the horizon.
I spun around, only to be stunned by the sight before me.
An army of fully armored beings, clad in full-plate blue crystal armor, each one emanating a holy radiance from their flapping wings.
They looked like mighty archangels—no, wait, they were everywhere!
Some wielded spears, others bows, and some brandished greatswords.
A quick Status Detection revealed that they were all level 80 and above.
Their numbers easily surpassed a hundred, forming an entire airborne battalion!
And that armor, the blue crystal plating with enchanted glows... Could it be Enchanted Diamond Armor!?
Not only were their levels abnormally high, but their equipment was equally overpowered!
"Angel Summon—!!!" Belle gasped in disbelief.
Summoned creatures by the Hero King? He could do this on top of predicting the future!?
What was even more bewildering was that these angelic troops weren't headed for us directly—they were speeding towards something behind us.
At the forefront of their formation, a massive white dragon roared as it flapped its wings.
"The capital... Is that their target?" Barella muttered, realizing the same thing I had.
From the beginning, he never intended to waste his time on us!
We all recognized the oversight instantly.
Led by Zakarina and Krista, the group rushed in pursuit of the dragon.
If those angels and the Hero King reached the capital, it would result in nothing short of a massacre, with casualties spiraling out of control.
This enemy was truly cunning, playing us for fools from the start.
Knowing this, we had to be even more careful in our next moves.
I sprinted after the others, but suddenly, I noticed a small black object being hurled from the dragon's direction, arcing through the air toward us. It flashed past my field of vision, landing somewhere behind me.
Wait, was that... a Pearl!?
A sudden sense of dread washed over me, but it was already too late.
That ghostly white gaze was upon me, and a gauntleted hand shot out from behind, aiming straight for my throat!
"If thou art here, then leave what is mine behind as well!"
