Chapter 27 - Chap 27 :

"This impressive, and that's just from the branch." By the evening, Leo found himself impressed after reading almost half of the base he got. From information about the monsters, creatures, and how to counter them. And also some geographical info about where they are active most, and additionally endless lists of simple runes and auxiliary rituals. And all that was open to the hunters and the associated partners. Leading to a tight society of hunters—something even Leo found hard to stabilize in the first days with the adventurer guild.

"Well, I guess that's enough for now." Leaving the office, he found the rest of the family.

"Leo, I was calling you for lunch, but I found you locked in, so I let you be," Viola said. "Your lunch is in the kitchen—want me to heat it up?"

"Nah, it's time to pick the girls," Leo said, checking his watch. "I will have dinner with you guys later."

"Sure," Iola laid back to snuggling into Kali.

"How was your first day?" asked Kali, who just shrugged. "Good, I guess, didn't get to meet the head doctor though."

Leo didn't understand until he remembered that it was a sunny day. "Oh, sunny day, so he's hiking, I guess."

"Why you say so?" Kali asked, also just upfront explaining who he was, and why he won't show in sunny days.

"I see," Kali nodded in realization, "but reflective crystal skin—that's something I love to see."

"You'll get your chance later," Leo said, waving to them goodbye.

After a short drive, he parked in front of the school just in time for the bell ringing.

Soon Leo spotted the pair in the crowd, but what surprised him were the two people they were walking with.

Spotting his car, they said goodbye to their friend and headed to Leo's car, while he was staring at the twins' new friend.

"Nin, how are you doing?" Lapis screamed from the open door, entering, followed by Rubie.

"Was good. I see you made a friend," Leo answered, starting the car and driving away.

"Yup, her name is Wednesday Addams. She is funny, and smells like you for some reason," Lapis added. And Rubie smiled. "She somehow reminds me of Aurora, despite being the complete opposite."

"I see." Leo smiled wryly, not seeing any similarity, neither from what he currently perceived, nor from what he knew about her as a character.

"Good to know," Leo murmured and sighed, his mind elsewhere. 'This is the third crossover—what's wrong here?!' While his thoughts were leading astray, he was already in the house parking lot.

By then he remembered the original story. He was wondering if she saw them coming, and if she would transfer to Nevermore—if it even exists.

But the answer to his question was actually no. Even Wednesday herself was still confused at how she didn't kick them out of her interaction, and how her allergy to colors didn't kick in at their red and blue presence. As for the visions Leo was thinking about, she still didn't awaken her ability.

Leo was about to return but stopped when his nose tickled with a sweet smell coming from a silver Volvo parked not far from his house.

Observing the car, he noticed a couple of pairs of golden eyes looking straight at him from the inside. He smiled and waved at them.

Before skipping to the house, not minding them, after getting inside, he headed to the dinner table, already set up and ready.

"So, I heard we got some weird situation in this world?" Isabella, just jumped from AF for dinner, was having a chat with Loyed and the rest about what they discovered before Leo arrived.

"Really? Get this," Loyed said, smirking. "You remember the tale of the Addams Family?"

They nodded, and his question froze Lapis and Rubie on the spot for a second before slapping their heads. "How didn't we notice?"

"Oy, don't tell me," Loyed looked at Leo, who nodded. Loyed sighed and murmured, "What the hell is wrong with this world?"

Flint chuckled and said, "I said it was weird, but not that weird."

"And how did we even come across this situation anyway? Most of the stories we had are either you wrote, or something we scavenged from the drops," Viola asked confusedly. "And if I remember right, Supernatural was from the scavenger, while Addams is something you wrote."

Keeping a straight face with difficulty, "Don't ask me—how would I know?" His saving grace: no one here read Twilight.

After a healthy dinner, everyone was back in the living room chatting and enjoying themselves, only to be cut short by a knock on the door.

Leo was about to head to open it, but the twins went first, and seconds later he could hear their laughter and talking. Noticing they took some time, he followed them to find them talking with the same goth girl from this morning.

Up close, Leo found her quite beautiful, even with all the dark-toned makeup and dress code.

"What took you so long?" Leo asked, getting their attention. "Oh, your friend from this morning. Come in."

"No, thank you. I just came to handle some homework I forgot to handle before." Bowing and leaving them there, not minding Leo or the girls she was chatting with.

"That's Wednesday for you, all right." Leo said, and found her cute somehow. He knew for a fact that the homework was just an excuse to follow them—probably she picked up their investigating quirk.

Leo turned around about to enter, but his threat fate ability activated involuntarily, and the next thing he saw was a red golden thread attached between his and Wednesday's pinky.

"You must be kidding me," Leo murmured and looked back at Wednesday riding the car. What Leo and the twins didn't notice was the quick glance she gave Leo before riding the car.

"Hey, Nini, what's wrong?" Lapis asked, confused at how Leo was frozen in the spot like that.

"Is she your mate?" the sharp Rubie asked straight out, noticing his shocked face moments ago, along with how his eyes were inspecting his pinky before going back to Wednesday.

Catching the wry smile on his face, she skipped him and got straight to the living room, followed by Lapis after realizing what was happening.

Moments later, noise picked up from inside, forcing him to sigh. Leo entered the living room to find them frozen looking at him; the next second, they literally teleported around Leo.

"Is it true?" Isabella asked excitedly. After all, finding a mate is a sacred occasion for all the AF residents, and more so for the sea clans.

"Yeah, I just met her," Leo verified. "And you all know her—Wednesday Addams."

"Ohh, congratulations, king!" With Isabella as the trigger all the other gonrat him with pation.

"Now the family will grow even more." Hugging Kali and Leo's arm, she started to shriek. The king part is implicitly what everyone thinks of Leo, but only Isabella will call him that from time to time, no matter how he tried to stop her.

"It's good to have someone to share drink with, good for you," Flint said, changing a couple of beers in and passing one for each of them.

Despite being used to him acting like that, it still felt weird to have him center everything around alcohol. And Leo thought that this dude and his clan as a whole were probably really the contraband version of dwarfs.

"Toast for the great news," Flint said and raised his cup.

"Toast," all the others raised their cups in agreement.

"But I have to say—tough life you have in front of you," Kali had no way to let this chance slip out, right, and started to tease him.

"What do you mean?" Leo looked at him confused.

"Great, now his memory starts to drop," Kali said, smirking. "You didn't forget what she does just for fun, right? You better start training on sleeping with half consciousness, or sharpen your instincts even more."

Looking at him, then at Flint, who fabricated an "ufff" face and raised his cup for a toast. "Toast for the survival show you're about to live."

"Toast," all of them said in union.

"Come on, you guys are just taking it too far? that's just a book, and we don't know how her character is, and even...." Leo was about to keep going but noticed the expression change on their faces.

leo realized they dropped him where they wanted him to be, and he was just about to let his mouth open with what they want.

"Ok, I will shut up now. Good night," Leo said, leaving the room, and behind him he could still hear the laughter.

In the end, it was their way of picking fun on him, so he let them be
