"How's she now?" Yosef asked as soon as he came to the home base.
"She's stable," said Reina who was watching over Julia.
"Then where's he?" Asked Yosef.
"By he, if you are referring to Jason, he is on the 15th floor. But I don't think he would appreciate anyone visiting him right now."
"He and his load of bullshit can go to hell for all I care. If anything happens to my sister I will never forgive him."
"He won't forgive himself either and you also know that too, don't you?" said Reina.
Yosef didn't talk any further and went straight to the 15th floor.
The guards in front of the room where Jason was in, tried to stop Yosef.
"Please Sir. Try to understand. We are just following orders," said the guards.
"I won't make things hard for you. Step aside. He won't blame you," said Yosef.
Seeing there's no other way, the guards stepped aside. Inside the door there was no light. To Yosef it felt even darker than the inside of his shadow curtain. When Yosef entered the room he realized that for some reason he couldn't unleash his powers. It was as if he never awakened to begin with.
"You weren't supposed to be here." Yosef heard a voice.
"Is that you Jason? What is this place? And what the hell are you doing here?" Yosef asked.
"I am doing what I can. But you still shouldn't be here. Leave as soon as you can."
"You sure are acting strange. Is that your way of avoiding my questions?" Yosef asked.
"I am sure you have realized that you can't use your powers here. You should leave before, you lose your powers permanently."
"Alright. You better hurry back to her."
Yosef left the room. When he came out he regained his powers. Inside the room he was feeling suffocated. After coming out of the room that suffocating feeling was gone. Yosef had too many questions but he knew he wouldn't get the answers even if he asked.
After a while Jason came out of that room. The doors to that room were sealed after Jason came out. Yosef was still waiting outside.
"Don't you have anything better to do?"Jason asked.
"Abbey woke up a few minutes ago. But it seems like you already know that," said Yosef.
"Alright, I don't think you would want to waste any more time sitting here. Come with me," said Jason.
They went to the room Abbey was in.
When they entered the room, all of a sudden, Yosef threw a knife at Abbey. Even though Abbey freaked out, the knife didn't get close to him. A faint white glow was surrounding Abbey like a shield.
"What's the big deal?" Abbey asked getting mad.
"Don't look at me. Jason told me to do that," said Yosef.
"Nothing, we were just testing a theory," said Jason.
"So, what did you get from your little experiment?" Abbey asked.
"Are you blind or something? Don't you see the white light around you?" Yosef asked.
"Wow! When did this happen?" Abbey was shocked.
"Just like Yosef's shadow curtain, you seem to have the light shield," said Jason.
"Again, what's with these names?" Yosef asked.
"I think they sound cool," said Abbey.
"Alright, let's do what we came to do. Abbey, we need your help," said Jason.
Normally Abbey wouldn't be so shackle but the worry looks on Jason's face was something Abbey never saw before. After Jason told Abbey about the plan, they went to the room where Julia was kept inside a stasis chamber.
"How is she doing?" Jason asked.
"Her vitals are still normal," said Reina.
"Then move the stasis chamber to the training field," said Jason.
"If I may ask, what are you planning to do?" Reina asked.
"We will be opening the chamber."
"Are you crazy? Doing that will again cause her to go through overload," said Reina.
"There are two elements inside of her. And unfortunately they are the opposite of each other. The contradiction those two elements are causing inside her body, if that continues, we will lose her forever," said Jason with a bit of force in his voice.
Reina knew that Jason was serious. It was just the fact that someone wielding two elements was something unbelievable even to someone like her.
"I will have my team on standby," said Reina.
"Thank you, doctor," said Jason.
"That's the first time you called me a doctor," said Reina.
"Isn't that what you are?"
After their talk, the stasis chamber Julia was in was taken to the training field. Yosef and Abbey stood in front of the chamber. After the chamber was opened, as predicted earlier, Julia went into overload.
But the continuous blinking that happened previously didn't occur this time. Instead it was two waves, one of darkness and one of light, surrounding her. It was as if she was drowning inside a pool filled with shadow and darkness instead of oil and water.
"Yosef, you may begin," said Jason
Yosef then cast his shadow curtain. The wave of light got caught inside the shadow curtain. But the wave of darkness still remained outside. The shadow curtain couldn't contain it.
"I don't think I will be able to hold it inside for long," said Yosef.
"Alright, now it's your turn Abbey," said Jason.
"Here goes nothing," said Abbey.
Abbey cast his previous light shield. Then he walked towards Julia. The wave of darkness surrounding her was repealed by his light shield. But the wave was also pushing Abbey back.
"I don't think it's going according to our plan," said Abbey.
"No, it's all part of the plan," said Jason.
As Yosef and Abbey were repealing the two waves surrounding Julia, Jason walked to her. When he was right in front of her Jason told them to undo their abilities.
"Are you nuts?" said Abbey.
"Let's do what he says. You also know, he doesn't do anything without a plan," said Yosef.
"Alright, *sigh*," said Abbey.
They both then undid their abilities. The two waves they were repealing returned towards Julia. As Jason was standing close to her, he was also engulfed in the clash of the two waves.
