Four years later
Han Ji Soo is 17 years old now, but she has grown up to be a cynic and a skeptical individual. The spirit that had attached itself with her, still lurks around her but she remains quiet, enduring everything by herself.
It was in the month of March when things changed in such a way that she lost control of many things. Han Ji Soo met a boy named Park Chang Sung during her board exams. For the first time in her life, she felt that her world turned colorful. They would date each day and Ji Soo had almost forgotten her worries. In fact, Ji Soo was so immersed in her life that she failed to see the true intention of her lover and the people around her.
"You better keep a tight hold on your niece, or she will spoil the entire neighborhood. As it is said that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, dirty blood will always show its true color. Actually, I should mind my own business, but I really feel sorry for granny and grandpa. It's a shame that she is tarnishing the reputation of the whole family", said a neighbor who wanted to get even with Ji Soo for the trouble she caused her when she was young. Ji Soo never cared about what other people thought or did but that did not mean that people liked her. Rather she was hated for the fact that she was straight forward and never gave a heed to what others said. The next day her maternal aunt came back, and she was beaten to pulp for being involved in a romantic relationship. No one asked for her excuse or tried to understand her and after her exams were over, she was sent to the States to her parents.
Her personality had drastically changed, and she went from a bubbly person to a paranoid one. Years passed and soon she healed and came back to being her usual self. By the time she reached the last year of her college she lost her father, and she started being responsible for herself. Ji Soo was forced to learn that people regardless of their age or gender are just a mere puppet of time. However, the one thing that had gone unnoticed was the fact that the paranormal activities had also stopped.
When Ji Soo thought about visiting her grandparents, she received devastating news that her grandparents, who were more important than her parents, had also passed away. She wanted to visit their funeral, but she and her mother were denied the privilege. Some of them who didn't want to get entangled in any kind of mess convinced her maternal aunt to let them visit their loved ones for the last time. Ji Soo's mother who had a pure heart had never imagined that her sister would plot against her and in such a mess would find out the time to forge the documents and become the sole owner of the property. Ji Soo's mother found it a bit strange but because of her own problems she ignored it. Fate, however, had different plans for her. She had never thought that her husband had taken a lot of personal and bank loans for the business which had to be shut down due to insufficient investment. They had to sell their home and clear up their savings to repay the loans.
After giving it much thought, Ji Soo's mother decided to return back to her hometown. Little did she know that her sister had no intention of letting her stay.
