Gyun stared at the guys face -I don't know what I was expecting, I would never recognize a small fry, though he is quite young-. For a peak rank he looks only in his mid-twenties, Gyun sensed some passerby's coming to check the noise. He picked the man up with ease and jumped back up onto the roof. He hit the mans acupoints to block his qi, voice and movement, he carried the man to a nearby alley as he set him down.
Gyun couldn't find anything that would identify the man except some common poisons, a sword and a few daggers. He lightly slapped the man "wake up" the man was completely unconscious still. -Damn it, he might've gotten brain damage-, "hey wake the fuck up!" he slapped the man hard this time, but he didn't react. "Did he die while I was carrying him?" he checked the man's breathing, he was still breathing, he put his hand on the mans chest and used qi to check his condition. The man had no life threatening injuries except for a minor concussion, and two fractured ribs. He put a painkiller pill in the mans mouth and made him swallow it, and gathered a small amount of qi in his hand and diffused into the mans body jolting him awake. The man looked around slowly as he regained his consciousness, "mmmmh! nnnngh!" he tried speaking, "hey your not going to be able to speak or move I hit your acupoints". The man settled down as he realized any further struggle would be pointless, Gyun set up a sound barrier with his qi. He unsealed the man's acupoints allowing him to speak and move but restricting his flow of qi. "Speak, why were you following me, I did nothing to you so why were you disturbing my morning, depending upon you answer will decide whether or not you have children".
------------------------------
The man Kwak Doosik had served the Tang family since childhood, his father was one of the members of their elite poison dragon squad. So he naturally learned martial arts but he displayed aptitude good enough to allow one of the elders of the family to take him in as a disciple and he excelled from then on. Since his age was close to the patriarchs granddaughter so he was assigned as her personal protector. He had been told that his talent and skill rivaled that of the 8 dragons and 6 phoenixes. He reached the peak level at age 22 and had been making efforts to reach the perfected rank of the peak level though he had been stuck at the intermediate rank for the past 2 years. He had been confident that he would be able to win over any other peak level martial artist yet he'd been subdued completely with roof tiles.
Gyun slapped the man "whatever nonsense your thinking is dumb, I know that look". He took on a mocking tone "is your pride hurt, huh I admit someone at your age at the peak rank is impressive but its not that rare ok. Now tell me who you are and why your following me."
Kwak gulped in fear despite the mans mocking tone and relaxed posture, the man emanated a sense of danger. But Doosik wouldn't betray miss tang so easily, he had been assigned as a guard and he wouldn't fail. At the same time he couldn't say nothing or who knows what this man would do. "I-I'm a mercenary from the silver hawk group, I just wanted to steal some of your money since you seemed loaded when you were walking on the street". Gyun still had his hood on pulled it back revealing his young handsome appearance. "What a blatant lie, I noticed your from the same group of those hooded fellows from the inn. Since you followed someone who didn't do anything to you, why don't you tell me before things escalate more then they already have?". Gyun approached the man, "why don't we start with your name, since your quite powerful at your age I might know it, though I doubt someone with such forgettable skills would be worth remembering". Kwak Doosik stood up and looked at the man in shock -he's younger then me, theres no way he's older then 20 he looks like he's 17 or 18- he thought. "My name is Kwak Doosik, I'm from the Tang family I apologize for following you but you seemed suspicious and the young miss deemed you worthy of investigation.
Gyun wasn't that surprised since he had suspected that it was the Tang family since it was rare for their to be high level martial artists who use poison. But what surprised him was the young miss part -are they talking about the patriarchs daughter or was it the granddaughter who was the young miss, no it's probably the granddaughter-. "Why was I suspicious?" Doosik looked nervous "um I don't know why". Gyun sighed -ugh this is troublesome, its best to resolve this peacefully and openly, and since the 'young miss' is at fault I can probably get them to forget this and move on-. He hit hit Doosik's acupoints releasing the restrictions on his qi flow, and stood back. "Ok how about your young miss and I meet to resolve this little issue at the same inn tomorrow at noon on the private second floor, she pays for it understand, and tell her to bring some compensation for making me carry you". Doosik could understand the first few terms since they were at fault but he couldn't believe the shamelessness in asking for money after he had been beaten unconscious. But he was also scared so he swallowed his pride and accepted the terms "understood" as he gave a meek bow and ran off. Gyun turned back to the hotel, "the manager will probably be there soon right?".
-----------------------------
15 minutes later
Gyun had leisurely walked back to the hotel, as he walked into the lobby the desk clerk hurriedly ran over. "Sir, the 4 mountain bank branch manager came looking for you a few minutes ago, he told me to tell you he would be waiting at the inn across the street". Gyun waved his hand "ok, thank you" he had an idea.
He walked back out of the hotel and across the street to the inn he'd left less then an hour ago. He walked in quickly ignoring the looks as he made his way through, the innkeeper walked up to greet him. "Oh your back already, do you ne-" Gyun cut the man off "no is the 4 mountain bank branch manager here I have a meeting with him". The branch manager seemed flustered but quickly recover "ah right this way, he also rented the second floor, he said he was waiting for a guest".
As Gyun sat down he looked the man over, the manager was slim but not skinny he was middle-aged but not bad looking, and wore expensive clothes with gold lining and had a greedy and arrogant air about him. -Doesn't matter as long as he does his job- Gyun thought, the man stayed silent, as Gyun sat down -ah there's the arrogance-. Gyun spoke first "since it seems you don't trust me" as he handed the man the VVIP plaque, he also pulled the hood a bit lower. The manager after momentarily examining it stood and bowed, "my apologies it's just that our bank only has 8 VVIP's and to have one appear at our humble branch is surprising". the manager sat back down "now what can I do for you today mr.-uhh-" Gyun took the hint. "Tzu, you can call me Mr. Tzu", while Gyun looked unperturbed on the outside he was lamenting himself -damn its the first thing that popped in my head-. "okay Mr. Tzu what can I do for you today?"
Gyun smiled, as he pulled his hood lower to cover his face even more then it was before. "I would like to invest in some real estate and businesses please, preferably those that are well established." The manager smiled when he heard this "I see, investment help for free is one of the perks our bank offers our VVIP's. Now what are your requirements and parameters, are you looking just to invest or full ownership?"
Gyun chuckled -I've learned the hard way that money and power together are the only way to get a solid grip on murim, I won't make the same mistake-. "Of course I won't accept anything other than full owner ship and I'd like to buy at least 4 inns here and the neighboring city combined. A decent sized merchant association, as well as a escort group, your free to use all the funds you need from my account, and I'd like it if you could hire a mercenary team that has at least grade 6 or 7 strength for personal use for 2 months. Pay them whatever you need, if there aren't enough funds let me know. Resolve this within 3 months I will be leaving the city in a few days, I expect everything to be handled, oh and get me the mercenaries in 2 days please".
The merchant nodded and had taken notes, "Sir while you do have an astronomical amount of money in your account, it probably won't be able to cover all this." Gyun laughed out loud for a moment, he calmed himself "don't worry I will be receiving a very generous payment soon." He got up and walked away -now all I need to do is meet the blacksmith and get some equipment and I can go relax-. He headed in the direction of the hotel, as he walked he decided he may as well visit the markets since he was only going to be hear for a few more days.
