Chapter 987 - Chapter 984 Spar pt 1

Once the Queen asked what time they were leaving. Rex immediately wanted to see how strong his current body was.

"If everything is alright. I would like to ask and see if I could spar with you." Rex asked.

The King looked at him and replied, "Anything on your mind?"

Rex explained that he wanted to test his limits against someone powerful. Since he currently did not have the Shadow Princess or Shadow Maid close by. This was a good chance.

The duo walked into the open chamber. Inside the duo were dressed in a samurai like fashion. The Queen dressing her husband. While the Royal Knights dressed Rex.

The wooden blade on the hip of Rex looked identical to a katana. Rex knew that there was a lot more to this blade. He could tell just from his clothing that there were a lot of safety in them.

The King went over to Rex. He had a different demeanor than normal to his eyes. His body language spoke like a true warrior.

"Here we will fight. Even though this is a spar. I will not hold back for that is my oath that I had to take when I became a King. My Royal Knights are watching, my wife dressed me, if not for my children than I would not use this armor.

If I hit you in the chest like this," the King did a slash against the chest horizontal, "that red means moderate to severe damage. If I were to poke your arm," the King did as such," there is no response because the armor does not account for the arm. It does for the legs.

No neck or head slices are allowed. If this was not a spar then it would be acceptable.

The weapons not only absorb some of your Qi. They can immediately increase damage by accepting more Qi into them. You will here a ding and we will be forced to stop because the blade will have overloaded. Furthermore, the blade can split apart if used too roughly. So make sure not to be forceful when attacking and blocking.

Remember, to reset the armor once we have actually begun. If you wish to see what would when you would actually defeat me. We both know that this is how it will end. Please do so now before we begin."

Rex tried to see what would happen and one slice was all that it took for the armor to believe that he was dead. The shocked faces of the Royal Knights and the Queen was all it took to try and stop this fight.

"Perhaps we should just see how we can keep our blades from either accepting too much Qi and/or breaking from use?" Rex asked.

"That seems like a much better idea." The King replied.

Even then Rex was worried because he was not sure how much it could hold. The King assured Rex that it would be easy to replace and see how much it takes for it to break without any fighting.

Two seconds of trying to allow his Qi in was all it took for it to break. This shocked the Royal Knights and Queen. These were made from a very strong Qi and Mana absorbent wood. For them not to survive two seconds, it meant that Rex's Qi was much stronger or purer than most Qi.

"Sir Rex, do me favor and try to take this blade and just coat the outside of it please." The King asked.

Rex took the blade and coated it. It felt like a natural part of him now. Whereas before it felt like a hungry beast trying to devour the Qi within him.

The duo were going to now spar to see which one could shatter the coated weapons. It would be a much longer fight than anticipated. At least like this, it would not be just an instant win/lost.

"We will do this fight in three parts. First, to see how strong we are with the weapons. We will each strike a dummy. That way we do not judge based on one or the other. We simply just judge.

Then the second part is striking each other. Of course, I believe I will lose that one. It will be fine.

The last part of the fight is to see how long we can stand together like so. Of course, if you want to change any of these. Let me know now so we can figure out another way."

Rex thought about it. He asked that since he could already kill him with a single slash. To test it now and see if he could.

The blade barely touched the armor and gave the King a death sentence. Even the others now could no longer believe at the sheer amount of Qi flowing through Rex.

"Use everything you got to do a good slash to me. As long as you can either have me dead or barely clinging to life. We will call that battle a draw." Rex told them.

"Fair enough." The King responded.

Even then, he worried that he would not be able to. Both parties got their weapons checked to ensure that no damage or foul play was in store. When the armor got reset, both took their spots and began to slash at the dummy presented in front of them.
