"Why are we here and what has it got to do with me?" The young God was standing in the main square of the city where hundreds of people walked by without a care in the world. There was a large statue on a raised platform of Tavar holding a longsword in his hand and standing on a broken shield. This signified the defeat and dissolution of the Union that stood before young Tavar. There were many statues such as this throughout the city and the whole continent.
"We are here to let you experience civilization, my friend. You will surely learn many things about the world and yourself, If you talk to these people or even just listen to them." They were both standing close to each other and Tavar had his arm over his shoulder as if they were close friends.
Seeing the mild discomfort on newborn's face, she decided to intervene.
"Don't worry we will be staying close to you. We just wanted you to feel and experience this great civilization we both built. People aren't perfect here but they are for the lack of a better word, normal. They do their daily work and don't bother others."
Her previous plan of concealing him from the vibrant emotions of her creation had blown into her own face. The only thing she could do was damage control. Closely supervising him during his interactions was best thing they could do for him. This way they could filter out any negative behaviour and provide him with only happy memories that would help him to grow as a God.
"So I am going to bother them, while they are conducting their daily activities." He had developed enough of common sense to know the basic manners. "Couldn't you guys introduce me to your common friends. This way I could have a meaningful conversation without disturbing people and randomly asking them basic things."
"See! I told you, we should have introduced him to the family." Tavar almost jumped as he finished. This would have normally alerted the people around them but he had conjured a spell to cover the area they were standing in. To the passerby who paid attention to the statue, it seemed perfectly normal.
"I just thought that conversing with normal people would help you ground yourself." She sighed as she leaned on the statue.
"What do you mean by normal, they are our family and friends. Besides people aren't the same as you left them. They don't stand idly to answer your questions anymore." Yvonne turned her face in the opposite direction as she heard this.
"I'm sorry honey but this is the truth. People have changed over the centuries." He didn't show as much affection to her as he was used to, In order to accomodate the young God. They had decided to cease any display of affection in front of him. But words like honey or love slipped sometimes and the young God tried his best to ignore them.
"We'll meet up with the old fox. He was really angry with me for something I apparently did. I'll give him a call and see if I can talk him into not scratching my face off when we see him."
"Wait, Rae is still alive?" Yvonne was pleasantly surprised to hear about their friend and a smile appeared on her face.
"Yeah, he reached the white core. Without my help. Can you believe it, he didn't shut up for a week about reaching the white core." He brought his wrist closer to him which had a bracelet on it. The bracelet glowed and he started to speak to a man whose hologram suddenly popped into air.
The man had fiery red hair which resembled dancing flames and had amber eyes which completed his look. He also looked tired as he was shifting through various documents.
"What do you need Tavar. Your actions last time nearly broke an ancient peace deal. I'm still trying to- Hey is that Yvonne I see there!." His face brightened up as he laid his eyes upon her.
"Hello Raenulf. How are Phaela and the kids." She smiled brightly at the surprised man.
"I'm good. Phaela is dead and so are the kids. But I'm a happy grandpa to 18 cubs." His cheerful expression almost went sour but he held tight.
"I'm sorry for your loss Raenulf." Her smile turned into a frown as she heard his friend's loss.
"Don't worry about it. Tell me about your travels. I hope you stay for longer this time."
"I will be staying for a while. And I hate asking you for this but can I bring a friend to your place. It won't be for long, I promise."
"Are you kidding me, of course you can come here and bring anyone along with you. After all you are the one who created all this." He gestured around him.
"Thank you for your hospitality Rae. I'll see you soon."
As soon as the conversation ended, all of them teleported into a thick forest. There were many types of creatures in the forest. Most of them were magical in nature. Some dared to come near them but most stayed away.
A portal appeared in front of them and man came of it. It was the same man they had talked to earlier. He had a wide grin on his face as he hugged the delicate looking goddess.
"You are back!!!" This scared away even the most daring creatures. Presence of four white cored individuals was enough to put fear into hearts of even the bravest warriors.
Yvonne let out a surprised yelp as she got lifted off the ground. Her intial surprised went away and she hugged him back with more intensity. This popped some of the bones in his body.
"Ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch. Okay the hug is over." He let go off her and straightened out his back before looking at his guests. Then he saw the new comer. The young God was staring at him with a curious look. Raenulf went ahead and stood infront of him.
"Hello, my name is Raenulf. I am the guardian of these woods and you can call me Rae."
"He's lying, his real name is Foxcut!" Tavar said by folding his hands into a cone shape.
Raenulf let out a deep growl and changed his upper body into that of a red coloured wolf and revealed his fangs.
"Not. A. Single. Word. Out. Of. Your. Damned. Mouth." His body started to let out death intent which portrayed it as a serious threat, if the claws and fangs weren't enough.
Surprisingly enough for the young God, Tavar actually backed off. Seeing this Raenulf turned back into his human form and faced his guest.
"I am sorry for that. I hope you don't mind it." He went back to being a friendly host.
"No problem. He does have a big mouth."
"That he does, sometimes I just want to rip his tongue out for all the trouble he caused me and send him to the all mother." He turned towards Yvonne who was watching this with a smile on her face, "No offence to you."
"None taken." She said and smiled at the defeated expression of Tavar.
"I didn't get your name?"
"Oh, I don't have one" Raenulf turned back towards Yvonne with a surprised look. He didn't know what to say.
