Chapter 7 - Mana and Faith, Creating Earth

Tao Jue decided to create two new powers to be wielded by both mortals and immortals.

The first was Mana, the legendary power to harness the elements and improve their profession in combat or healing. This power could be done by utilising the power of Earth Two's core, and would need some brainstorming with God to fully implement and understand.

This power would allow mortals to rise in status and at its peak, become a being classed as a Demi-God. Albeit this would need to become almost impossible, to limit the amount of powerful beings on one world; it doesn't take much to destroy one, after all.

The second legendary power was Faith. Faith could be used and garnered to increase the power of demigods and above; it would allow the vassal to gather enough faith from mortals to ascend to Godhood. Tao Jue needed this, as increasing the amount of Gods in his universe would also increase its prosperity and security. These minor, major and supreme Gods would also likely create their own worlds, factions and expand on his newly born universe.

Thinking of the future, Tao Jue was excited.

He began to visualise Earths inner core as he had perfected over years of contemplation. God was also next to him as he watched the first world of mortals come to fruition with pride on his face; this would be the planet that he ruled, after all.

A huge round ball of gasses emerged from the void, burning in heat. Species of Angels and Demons emerged from their planets to watch this historic moment, joy written on their faces.

Upon completion of the inner core, Tao Jue had his eyes closed in concentration as he raised his finger towards the inner core, a blinding colourful light of creation beamed out towards it. Before hitting the core, the creation power suddenly transformed into a mostly translucent blue colour and wrapped around the core's hemisphere. This was newly created Mana.

Another power beamed out of his finger and repeated the actions of Mana, this power was white in colour with a holy glow, Faith.

However, upon finalising the core and its powers, Tao Jue was struck with a sudden migraine. This was a pain unlike he had ever felt before and he could not help but groan in misery with his head between his hands. Those around him including God had worried looks on their faces, surrounding him in confusion.

Slowly neutralising the pain, Tao Jue spoke softly, "Don't worry, it seems as if creating these powers were more trouble than I thought" He laughed to himself, before looking at his arms, covered loosely in a robe.

Tao Jue had never been a particularly handsome man, nor was he considered unattractive. Now, however, he was a unique specimen. His veins had become white and blue, intersecting at various places throughout his body, tattoos covered most of his right arm and he looked more like an alien gangster than a high and mighty creator.

God sighed in relief upon hearing Tao Jue laughing. He couldn't imagine the strain one must withstand when creating new godly powers, as he could only create worlds or races.

After resting for a while, Tao Jue continued the creation process following the inner and outer core, and finally finished the mantle and crust.

He decided not to continue with the moulding of the Earths surface and instead solve a problem that had hounded him since he began his 'Grand Plan'; how would he transfer the souls of mortals to their respective afterworld?

He explained his issue to God, Lucifer and Michael, as they were the only beings still with him.

"Why not create a being that acts as Death? Or a ferryman?" God spoke his wisdom, believing this issue to be easily resolved.

"I agree, we in Hell will take over this responsibility, Heaven does not have the capability" Taunted Lucifer, directed at Michael.

With furrowed brows, Michael spat back, "Hell is weaker than Heaven, with only five primordial beings, it should be us that ensures the dead is righteously judged on their sins."

Tao Jue eyed God, 'This is what I created him for' he thought.

As expected, God spoke out: "The Ferrymen will be a separate faction under myself. Perhaps in time, a God will be created in order to watch over the proceedings and ensure fairness to all mortals"

Tao Jue immediately thought of Anubis, the God of Death in Ancient Egyptian mythology, one day perhaps he will be bringing back the scales of justice for this new world.
