Chapter 2 - Chapter 1-Family

With the first matches of the Saiyan Ranking Tournament finished, the people and contenders were set free for the rest of the time. To prepare themselves for their next fights.

"D-Did you see me out there?! That kid hit me so hard, I didn't know what to do. I mean it's like he didn't even listen to me when I was talking about how awesome my skills were!"

"Haha, you really talked him down didn't you? But you know Okara, you're supposed to fight your opponents right?"

"Well yeah, but I just wanted to show off the cool moves you taught me, dad."

"I'm sure you learned a lot from me, but remember son, this event it's critical for-."

Suddenly Cress grabbed and twisted a piece of O'hara's arm.

"Yow! Hey! What was that for Cress?!"

"Okara sweetie, what you're father is trying to say is. He's proud of you for standing up to your opponent."

"But Cress, he-."

"YOW!"

Cress twisted again.

"O-Okay, Okay! I'm sorry!"

Okara laughed at his father's frantic apology while his mother smiled fiercely.

Cress was a slim yet slightly built Saiyan woman, her face was soft and Okara's hair resembled that of hers. While O'hara was tall compared to most Saiyans. With spiky side-swept hair and a stern yet blank face. Where Okara mostly gets his looks from his mother, but not so much height from either.

"Okara sweetie, why don't we go over some things when we get home?"

"Awww, but Mommm, I'm hungry! I haven't gotten to eat all day!"

"Well let's eat first then we'll go over some things, how does that sound?"

"Works for me, hehe."

"You two are so carefree."

"Oh shush you, let's just enjoy our time with our son."

O'hara sighs as he gently smirks.

*On the other side of the coliseum*

"You did well son, you grow closer and closer to becoming strong enough for-."

"Ahem, Amaranth don't you think it's a little soon to be putting such high hopes onto our son?"

"Come now Carmine, he's 6 years old and almost stronger than his own father. I think he's more than ready."

"That may be true physically, but mentally he'd be destroyed by it."

"She's right Amaranth, maybe you should look for another candidate till Crimson is older and much more... Mature to handle such a thing."

"Uncle Auburn!"

Crimson ran to his uncle's arms and was instantly hoisted.

"It's good to see you Crimson. Your match was beautifully executed."

"Thanks, Uncle Auburn."

"You are most welcome."

"Auburn I wasn't expecting to see you today, I thought you had recruitment coming up."

"We did, but I figured I'd come by and watch my nephew fight in his first-ever tournament."

"How're the recruits?"

"Most of them are off-the-street low-classes, some have never been in a combat scenario. But once I'm done with them we'll truly be known within the kingdom."

"What about you? How are you doing?"

"That's for another time brother, shouldn't you be getting home for food?"

"He's right Amaranth it's getting late... Crimson dear, come along now. We must get washed up and get you fed. You can't fight your next match on an empty stomach."

As Crimson and Carmine began walking away together. Amaranth and Auburn stared at each other a little longer.

"We're having a ton of meat and some stew if you'd like to come by and eat with us Auburn. It feels like it's been forever since we sat at a table together.

"You could say that again, I mean what was the last time we had food together? When-."

"Mother was still around..."

"Right..."

Both Auburn and Amaranth stood in silence, before.

"DAD! UNCLE AUBURN! ARE YOU COMING OR WHAT?!"

Crimson shouted from his mother's shoulders as she carried him home.

"What do you say, care to have another meal as a family?" Amaranth smirked as he waved at Auburn as he turned to catch up to his wife and son.

"Hell, why not."

Auburn quickly rushed to meet up with them. Auburn quickly wrapped his right arm around his brother's neck.

"About time you caught up!"

"UNCLE AUBURN! YOU'RE COMING WITH US?!"

"Sure am kiddo!"

"Awesome!"

"Now now Crimson, just because Auburn's here doesn't mean you get to slack off on training!"

"But DAD!!"

"No buts! We're getting right to it after our meal!"

"You're the worst!"

"Sure am!"

*Back at the O'hara household*

"Now Okara, what are you gonna do when someone comes at you?"

Okara stood there for a moment thinking of the answer.

"Y-You dodge... Okara, are you even listening!"

"I mean yeah I was, but then you started going off about some stuff about something called Animus and how it's our secret power. Then I started tuning it out and-."

"Why you little! Listen to me okay!"

"But dad! I just wanna fight and be strong like you!"

"Okara..."

O'hara sighed as he crossed his legs to take a seat.

"Come sit with me."

"But!"

"Now..."

O'hara's glare was chilling and Okara knew when to shut his mouth and listen. Okara quickly took a seat by his father.

"Do you remember your great-grandfather?"

"You mean the one that had the seriously scary tale made about him?"

"Well it wasn't necessarily scary, it was more or so our origin and the birth of our hidden power. Let me tell you how your great-grandfather Okra fought his way to the top of the Saiyan hierarchy and became known as the Animus Of The Saiyans."

Okara's eyes sparkled at his father's words.

"Long ago, before Escar was established as the planet it is now, your great-grandfather was a part of an elite team known as the Anima. These members were secretly chosen by their leader. However, due to the secrecy of the group, the leader's face or name was never known to its members. To keep it from falling onto someone if something crucial was to happen such as exposure. Even so, your great-grandfather Okra wasn't chosen purely out of lucky or power. No, he was chosen as a test subject for a greater evil."
