Chapter 7 - The Haunted House: A Terrifying Night of Fear and Regret

As I stumbled out of the haunted house, gasping for air, I realized that I had left phone and car keys inside. Panic set in as I frantically searched my pockets, but I knew they were nowhere to be found.

I turned to my friends, hoping that one of them had a phone, but they were nowhere in sight. The gate was locked, and there was no way out. I was stranded in the middle of nowhere, with no way to call for help.

As I weighed my options, I noticed that my car was parked just outside the gate. It was a tempting idea, but the thought of going back into the haunted house filled me with dread. I couldn't bear the thought of being trapped in there again, even if it meant risking my life on foot.

So, I made the decision to walk back to the city, even though it was several miles away. It was a risky move, but I felt it was the only option I had left.

As I walked, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was following me. Every rustling leaf or twig made me jump, and I felt like I was being watched. The further I walked, the more the feeling intensified, and I started to run.

It wasn't until I heard the sound of an engine that I realized how foolish I had been. I turned to see a car speeding towards me, and I quickly stepped off the road. The car screeched to a halt, and the driver rolled down the window.

"Get in!" he shouted. "What are you doing out here all alone?"

I hesitated for a moment, but the fear and exhaustion had taken its toll on me. I climbed into the car and slumped into the seat, relieved to be out of harm's way.

As the car sped towards the city, I couldn't help but wonder what would have happened if I had chosen to walk all the way. The thought sent shivers down my spine, and I made a promise to myself to never take unnecessary risks again
