" Wow girl I can't believe you are cutting your hair " Jane said sitting down beside Raye at the hair salon .
"Yeah I thought of getting a trim but then I ,saw this curtain bang hairstyles online and then ...well I changed my mind " Raye said looking at herself in the mirror before showing Jane the picture who gasped smiling widely .
"This is pure gold girl ,".
"Mhm am also dying my hair black too , I don't like the brown colour anymore , changing to my perfect hair colour ".
"Yeah even me am getting a trim , just slight trim , they are becoming uneven and also dying it blonde ". Jane said staring at the hair magazine which she flipped the next page again .
Raye turned to stare at Jane who smiled brightly " this is your third hair dye, from red , to black , to blonde ...to no hair anymore " she turned back to face the mirror watching the stylist cut her hair slowly " dying isn't that good especially if it done under three or four months ".
Raye and Jane were friends before university ,they were practically neighbor and so when applying for school they both pick the same university ...thankfully they also got admission to it .
"Yeah right , but I am still dying it anyways , I promise this is the last one "..
"That what you said for the other two ..look at were we are now " Raye said sarcastically glancing at Jane before looking back at the mirror .
"Blame the internet , they seem to come up with different colours of hair ,every single day ".
Raye wanted to say something but shut her mouth shaking her head lightly with a small smile .
She was right _ the internet could be so convincing ...worst it wasn't even trying .
You just get a video , you have the right to scroll and unscroll but then you watch it ...
It was so bewitching .
After a simple haircut and trim they both went back home tiredly as Jane said .
"I think we have a class this afternoon we better hurry though " Jane said before they both stood up from the couch going to the bedroom .
Raye was in the library waiting for Joshua as usual to continue their lesson .
This was something she had gotten use to .
Things were going very well _ and she had come to terms with her feelings .
Something were never meant to be _ that was the real truth .
Maybe a part of her still wanted something ...maybe a little .
When he leaned closer , when he corrected her by placing his hand on her or their high-five .

But then as the days passed by , she saw that she was the one overreacting and Joshua never felt anything .
Its still hurt but like always she would get over it Raye jerked out of her thought as she turned to see Joshua standing behind her with a small smile .
He scratched his hair playfully before saying " sorry I am late , I almost left this place thinking it was someone else with the new haircut , then I had to check ".
Raye who didn't know what to say just chuckled as she drew her chair close to the table .
"It looks beautiful , the bangs and it fit you perfectly ".
"Thanks "Raye muttered the atmosphere becoming a little tense , she cleared her throat to bring him back to reality .
Was he just clueless or very good at playing with a person heart Raye thought with a small frown as she quickly shoved the thought away hearing the screeching sound of the chair before Joshua sat beside her .
"So what are we heading to ,equations , calculus again or _".
"Us ".
Raye nodded flipping the textbook as she muttered.
"us yes ssss where can I _ wait _..What !! " .
She raised her head to look at Joshua eyes wide open a small pink colour settling on her cheek .
She didn't process the word _ until she did ...what did he mean by us now .
Joshua chuckled eyes closed while Raye stared at him with a surprise face .
"You are so funny ".
Raye chuckled dryly clearly not finding the joke funny " haha yes , you almost got me in that one ".
Joshua , the guy with caramel curls, dimples that had done damage since orientation week, and a voice like lazy summer afternoons. The one she had a mild, manageable, slightly fatal crush on .
Was this real Raye screamed in her mind blinking twice and then thrice .
Not knowing what else to do , she quickly reach for her backpack bringing a water bottle as she gulped the water down .
" but Raye , am serious ".
Holy moley !.
The way he pronounced her name was even worst Raye stared at Joshua like he suddenly had an extra eye on his forehead .
Had she ever heard her name sound this soft coming from him _ no wide .....plain..... No.
She gave him a side eye glance ,and looked down and then again she looked at him , before drinking the water again .
Biting her lips due to anxiousness she cleared her throat before asking .
"Y-yeah?"
He smiled. "I was wondering… you wanna grab coffee this weekend?"
Mentally, She Was Not Present.
"Why , what about Layla ?" Before Raye could already process her word it has already slipped from her lips as she quickly tried to correct " you don't need to answer _ ".
"No layla she is just a friend, but you, I have always liked you since , I just didn't know how to say it ".
Raye frowned it was obvious that he was lying .
She had seen them together before _ the news was all over school that Joshua was dating a very hot chick and now this .
He didn't have to lie to me though Raye thought suddenly a little pissed .
"I am sorry but I don't harbor such feelings for you ".
Joshua frowned a confused expression on his face as he said " but I was sure you did ".
"Sure maybe weeks ago ," Raye shrugged looking thoughtfully before she turned to meet Joshua gaze . " But not anymore ...and you shouldn't lie everyone know you are dating Layla ".
"Fine , but I am not dating Layla trust me ,if you say you don't have any feelings for me we could take it slowly , something simple , a date as friend ...give me a chance please ".
Raye stared at Joshua pityful face she wasn't heartless though .
At the same time she wondered why she didn't feel anything .
His words no longer carried the effectiveness anymore .
Sighing she slowly nodded to see a small smile on Joshua face as she quickly said .
"I would think about it ok "
"Mhm that's better than nothing " He said smiling brightly before looking down at their book " let's start ,so we would _ . ".
"No that won't be necessary , it already late and my friend and I, have plans for shopping so ooo tomorrow " Raye said standing up not waiting for his reply she packed her stuff .
The atmosphere was already tensed than it use to be .
And she felt somewhat awkward _disgusted and angry too .
"Oh ok " Joshua said clearly seeing the shift in the girls mood before she could leave he grab hold of her hand saying " please think about it Raye ".
"Mhm " Raye murmured walking slowly while holding her water bottle .
She was confused and her thought was so jumbled too ... Just by one question ...
WHY DON'T I FEEL ANYTHING?!
Joshua looked at the side in between the book rack to see the girl _ a small smile suddenly graze his lips .
His acting wasn't for nothing he thought watching her walk over heels clicking , short mini skirt that showed her longs legs _ exactly his type of girl .
Layla stopped in front of Joshua clearly glaring at the boy who had a smile on his face .
" So you are moving on with her now , you know I was so right about you being a fling , we had a little fight you jump to your numerous girlfriends".
Joshua chuckled clearly unfazed by the girl remark " I don't jump though , I just needed a distraction and also to get someone attention too ...guess it worked " he said licking his lips watching the girl hissing loudly .
"You are sick josh , very sick " Layla muttered turning around about to leave only for Joshua to grab her hand ,picking her up like she weighed nothing and placing her on the desk .
Before she could complain his lips was on hers soft at first before it became hard and longing and then she was kissing him .
She was suppose to be mad after seeing him with another girl _ she knew it was a trap to get her jealous and gosh she allowed it to work .
Joshua released staring at the girl ...out of all the whole girl he had come across she was the one he cared about .
Others were just for fun _ like the stupid girl Raye he thought with a smirk on his face .
" You are sooo heartless josh ".
"And you like it " he muttered before his lips found hers again , hot and hard ,their hands were in each other hair tugging violently .
He was right Layla thought she still likes him .....
As always she was still his puppet to use and then throw away again .
