Quiana Sutton looked at him with amusement, "Durrell Landon, don't forget, once you regain your memory, we'll be getting a divorce. By then, you'll be my ex-husband. Do you want everyone to know about your divorce?"
More importantly, once Alexander Skylane knows about her hidden marriage, it means her uncle will know too.
She doesn't want her uncle to know that she married Durrell Landon just for fun.
She has to mention divorce once every three sentences, which greatly annoys him. Durrell Landon looked at her coldly, his gaze as sharp as a knife piercing through clouds, like a biting cold snap in early spring, his thin lips tightly pressed together as he enunciated each word: "I agreed to sign the divorce agreement once my memory returns, but as long as I haven't signed it, you're still my wife. Don't even think about having an affair with Alexander Skylane."
At this moment, a knock on the door sounded again, "Cece, are you in the room?"
Quiana Sutton frowned slightly, really not wanting to continue this tug-of-war with Durrell Landon, she directly shoved him into the cabinet.
Durrell Landon also didn't expect her strength to be so robust, and before he could react, he found himself in the cabinet.
He glared at her, about to say something, but she preempted him with a bit of a threat:
"Don't make a sound, or I'll tie you up and tape your mouth shut."
Durrell Landon: "..."
Closing the cabinet door, Quiana Sutton casually slipped on some clothes and went to open the door.
Alexander Skylane hadn't expected Quiana to be showering. He had seen her fighting, seen her being unserious, seen her breaking down, but never like this, coming out from the water like an alluring fairy.
Especially since her intoxicating fragrance kept teasing his senses, disturbing his heart's calm waters, causing a slight fluster within him.
"Cece, I..." At this moment, he actually forgot what he wanted to say.
"Hmm?" Quiana Sutton dragged her tone slightly, looking at him puzzled.
Just then, he suddenly noticed her lips were red and swollen, instinctively asking:
"Cece, what happened to your mouth?"
Quiana Sutton froze for a moment, suddenly remembering that her lips seemed to have been bitten by Durrell Landon just now. He isn't even a dog; why did he suddenly take to biting her?
She haphazardly wiped her lips, "Nothing, I accidentally fell while showering just now."
Alexander Skylane didn't suspect anything, just said, "Cece, some of my classmates in the country found out I'm here and want to throw me a welcome party. I'd like to invite you."
A welcome party for Alexander Skylane alone, and she wasn't his classmate either. It seemed unsuitable for her to go, so she lowered her eyes slightly, with a hint of apology on her face:
"Sorry, I don't want to join the fun."
This answer was expected, but the disappointment in his eyes was plain to see.
Quiana Sutton hesitated a bit before speaking:
"When your branch company officially opens, I'll come to your party."
Hearing her promise, a faint smile spread in Alexander Skylane's eyes:
"Alright, it's a deal then."
...
After Alexander Skylane left, Durrell Landon emerged from the cabinet, with a hint of mockery and ridicule in his eyes, "Alexander Skylane so sincerely invited you to his welcome party, why didn't you go, Mrs. Landon?"
When he mentioned 'Mrs. Landon,' his tone involuntarily rose a few pitches.
Quiana Sutton: "..."
She looked at him, a bit speechless, "If you're not feeling well, go ask Oliver Gale for some medicine, stop being sarcastic with me."
Durrell Landon smiled at her, his gaze shimmering, "But this is an ailment only my wife can cure, Oliver Gale can't."
In meeting his gaze, Quiana Sutton's heartbeat skipped a beat instinctively.
It's really maddening.
Either Durrell Landon took the wrong medication today, or she should take some herself since she seems to be hallucinating.
In that instant, she felt as if Durrell Landon might actually like her a little.
If it's an illusion, then she'll take some medicine to make it disappear. If it's true, she'll nip it in the bud, as she would not allow herself to truly fall for anyone.
Regaining her cold demeanor, she clearly articulated, "Durrell Landon, you should return to Imperial View Manor."
Hearing her dismissal, Durrell Landon was displeased, his gaze turning icy, "Are you kicking me out?"
Quiana Sutton straightforwardly admitted, "That's right."
Durrell Landon hadn't expected her to admit it so bluntly. A fire of anger flared in his eyes, but his highly-prized composure quickly took over, and he took a deep breath, "Fine, we'll go back to Imperial View Manor together."
Quiana Sutton frowned slightly, "Durrell Landon, I don't want to go back to Imperial View Manor tonight."
"If you don't want to go back to Imperial View Manor, where do you want to go?"
Durrell Landon appeared as if he would accompany her anywhere, no matter where she decided to go.
Quiana Sutton: "..."
She just simply didn't want to be alone with him, fearing that tonight things might escalate out of control.
Yet, Durrell Landon seemed determined not to rest until he achieved his goal.
So, finally, she suggested going to the shooting club.
...
Sovereign Shooting Club.
Quiana Sutton stood at the shooting station, smoothly assembling the magazine before straightening her arms and firing five consecutive shots at the target.
Each shot hit the bullseye.
Durrell Landon sat on a distant couch, legs crossed, casually watching her.
"I'm a bit surprised you can shoot."
Quiana Sutton glanced at him indifferently and said nothing.
She grew up under the crazy discipline of the old man, in matters of shooting, within a hundred steps, she has never lost.
She moved her wrist, firing several more shots at the bullseye, each also hitting the mark.
When she was about to fire the last bullet, she suddenly turned the gun towards Durrell Landon.
Durrell Landon was momentarily stunned, then let out a low laugh.
Durrell Landon's reaction was unexpected to her. She asked expressionlessly, "Aren't you afraid I might really shoot you?"
Durrell Landon propped his chin with his right hand, his eyes full of nonchalance, "Being looked at with perspective glass by you doesn't feel bad."
There was a moment when his heart contracted rapidly, this illusion of near-death yet surviving felt rather exhilarating.
He thought he might like her a little, after all.
He isn't truly a stickler for the rules; he's just playing the role of the second young master of the Landon Family as seen by the world, but he doesn't actually like it.
In Quiana Sutton, he seems to have found the lost part of himself.
With a playful look in his eyes, Quiana Sutton turned away, face cold as jade, not paying him any more mind. She simply picked up the gun and shot at the target.
The force of the bullet leaving the shell roared through the air, causing an explosive sound that echoed in the shooting club.
Even without looking at the target, it was a perfect ten.
After seeing this, Durrell Landon didn't say anything, merely raised an interested eyebrow.
