Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Paranoia

Durrell Landon walked over and sat opposite Quiana Sutton, casually resting his right hand to the side, looking at her with a half-smile: "Your relationship with Oliver Gale really is improving day by day. Are you planning to give me a green hat soon?"

Quiana Sutton: "..."

Has Durrell Landon developed a persecution complex now?

It seems like whenever she talks to a man, she's flirting, the next moment she'll strip, and then end up in bed.

She's increasingly convinced that she preferred Durrell before he lost his memory, at least he wasn't this unreasonable.

She glanced at Oliver Gale beside her and spoke lightly: "Dr. Windsor, do you think Mr. Landon is seriously ill? Why not prescribe him some medicine?"

Oliver Gale: "..."

Clearly, it was an argument, yet why did it seem so much like flirtatious banter, making his skin crawl.

He gave a light cough: "Quiana, I'm a surgeon, this kind of illness isn't my department. But if you need, I can find you a more authoritative doctor."

Quiana Sutton shifted her gaze away: "No need."

She was just joking.

For the first time, Durrell Landon found Oliver Gale quite an eyesore, looking at him coldly:

"Oliver, Julian mentioned that there are some quite tricky patients at Riventon Hospital, he needs your help."

Oliver Gale: "..."

Is Durrell trying to send him away?

His possessiveness is really quite intense. Quiana was right, he indeed needs a doctor.

With resignation, he stood up, "I'll be heading over in a bit."

After Oliver Gale left, Durrell Landon didn't speak, just kept staring at her, making her feel a bit uneasy.

Not wanting to be alone with him any longer, she got up to leave when she heard Durrell Landon ask: "Can you draw?"

She looked at him, surprised, not quite understanding his sudden question.

But still replied: "I can."

"Draw me a picture."

Quiana Sutton: "..."

Today's Durrell seemed a bit whimsical, she said jokingly:

"Since when did you become so shameless?"

He merely wanted to try, if her eyes only reflected him, what kind of feeling would that be.

"You don't want to?"

Of course, she didn't want to, but before she could say anything, Durrell Landon spoke again with a sigh:

"I was originally thinking, if the drawing turned out satisfactory, I could exchange it for the original of 'Starry' with you."

In the information he reviewed earlier, he found that Quiana Sutton drew 'Starry' the most, either she really liked that painting, or it had special significance to her.

Originally, Quiana Sutton wasn't much interested. But upon hearing Durrell mention the original 'Starry', her interest was piqued.

Though she had her doubts:

"Do you really have the original of 'Starry'?"

"Of course."

Quiana didn't doubt anything. Knowing Durrell's pride, he would disdain to deceive her.

Moreover, with the Landon Family's status, obtaining an original painting wouldn't be difficult.

"Then what would you like me to paint?"

"Of course, paint me."

Quiana looked at him, speechless:

"There are so many photo albums of you online, taken from every angle. If you want, you can even print oversized posters to hang at Imperial View Manor. Why insist on having it drawn?"

"I'm tired of all those photos. I just want a drawing."

Quiana Sutton: "..."

"Then, do you want a sketch, an oil painting, or a traditional Chinese painting?"

He didn't have a preference, as long as the subject was him. However, Imperial View Manor might not have that many painting tools.

"Let's go with a sketch then."

After speaking, he signaled the servants to bring over paper and pencils.

Drawing allowed her to feel a brief sense of calm, one of the few things she genuinely loved.

Even with Durrell Landon's tempting offer, she remained seriously focused on her task.

She spent nearly two hours drawing, during which her entire attention was on Durrell Landon, as if the rest of the world faded into nothingness at that moment.

Durrell Landon saw how seriously she drew, and couldn't help but curve his lips slightly upward.

Two hours later, she finished the drawing and handed it to Durrell Landon.

"It's done."

Durrell Landon took a look and had to admit, Quiana Sutton had drawn it very well, capturing his essence perfectly.

Aside from necessary publicity, his account rarely shared personal updates, but this time he actually went as far to take a photo and post it on his Weibo account.

Durrell Landon's fans suspected his account had been hacked, but soon realized it was impossible – who would dare hack the account of someone like Durrell Landon?

The only possibility was that Durrell Landon himself had truly shared a personal update with his fans.

The fans were so excited, some were moved to tears, feeling like they had finally seen spring, and left endless rainbow praises in the comments.

Seeing his action, Quiana Sutton slowly spoke:

"Since you're satisfied, give me the original of 'Starry'."

"The original of 'Starry' isn't with me."

Quiana Sutton frowned slightly upon hearing this and was about to speak when Durrell Landon continued:

"That painting isn't by my side, it's with Master Yates. Master Yates owes me a favor; in a few days, I'll take you to ask him for the painting."

Upon hearing this, Quiana's initially somber expression slightly eased.

"Since you've promised to give me the painting, you mustn't go back on your word."

Durrell Landon smiled: "Have I ever gone back on my word before?"

Quiana thought for a moment: "Not that I can recall."

After instructing the servants to put the sketch away, Durrell Landon looked at her seriously, calling her name:

"Quiana."

It wasn't the first time he'd called her name, but it was the first time he did it so tenderly, so full of longing, that it made her heart skip a beat instinctively.

"What is it?"

"I now know our marriage wasn't as simple as it seems. I only have one question for you: Have I lived up to the responsibilities of a husband?"

Quiana Sutton's eyes showed slight ripples of emotion. She had to admit, Durrell Landon did treat her quite well.

Several times when she got into trouble, he'd asked Charles Foote for help to settle things for her. She still remembered when she released her first single, breaking a sales record of over ten million. The sponsor wanted to throw a celebration party, during which someone tried to get handsy with her. In her anger, she directly smashed a cigarette ashtray on the person's head, and Grace Sutton was so shocked she fell to the floor.

When the person threatened to blacklist her, Grace Sutton tried to drag her to the hospital to apologize as a last-ditch effort, but unexpectedly, when the person woke up, they apologized to her instead, saying they were drunk and didn't mean to grope her, even promising it wouldn't happen again.

To this day, Grace Sutton still didn't know what had actually happened.

Quiana Sutton glanced at Durrell Landon, "You're one of the few who treats me decently."
