"We finished work a bit late today, so I didn't have time to prepare dinner for Miss Norris. How about this? Top Grade Residence is right next door, shall I treat you both to dinner?"
Audrey Hans raised her wrist to glance at her watch, then gently asked Amos Smith.
"No need." Amos Smith directly took the girl's hand and gently squeezed it, "She's always busy, and finally caught her, so I don't want to waste time on something like dinner."
Audrey Hans kept her gracious smile: "Then I won't disturb you both."
The car window slowly rolled up.
Bertha Haines withdrew her hand from the man's grasp and shot him a frosty glance: "Why did you say such things in front of Miss Hans!"
Amos Smith asked back: "Why? Can't I? I think I was already being quite subtle."
Bertha Haines: "..."
Amos Smith asked with concern: "Did she give you any trouble today?"
Bertha Haines replied with annoyance: "No."
Amos Smith chuckled: "From the way you sound, it doesn't seem like no."
