Amos Smith knew that it was useless to try and persuade her, for he already saw the answer in the young lady's eyes—she didn't want him anymore.
"Yes."
How resolute her answer was.
He always thought he was a heartless person, but he didn't expect the young lady to be even more ruthless.
Stepping aside, he gave her a path.
"If you encounter any difficulties in the future... you can always come to me."
Bertha Haines looked up at him. Although she was particularly reluctant, she had to say goodbye to him.

Just as Bertha Haines left Amos Smith's office, Manson pushed the door open, only to walk into the boss's furious outburst.
Several pots of delicate flowers were kicked over onto the ground by him.
