Chapter 25 - Chapter 25: Only Daring to Squeeze the Softest Persimmon

"Hurry up." Polly Sutton still stretched out her hand, completely unaware of what the man opposite was thinking.

Victor didn't make things difficult for her; instead, he handed her his phone, which contained only one photo—a front view.

Once Polly got it, she was overjoyed. Looking at the photo was much clearer than the brief glance she had before, although it was just a part of it.

Pavilions sat in the courtyard, accompanied by winding water, and the theme of this resort was a ten-story structure with a wooden exterior and concrete interior, achieving an exquisite balance between aesthetics and practicality.

Yet the photo only showed a part of it, not the main building.

"Is there more?" Polly eagerly looked at Victor.

But Victor knew better than anyone that this woman was heartless, only looking pitiful when asking for help.

Victor took back his phone, "No more."

Polly grabbed Victor as he was about to leave, "If I can recreate it, wouldn't it save the Parker Family too?"

"Polly, do you think your design can't compare to one that's long gone?" Suddenly, Victor interrupted her.

Polly: "That's different."

"No brain." Victor said, then turned and left.

"If you don't want to show it, then don't show it. Why make it personal?" Polly jumped and cursed a couple of times, and Victor slammed the door, startling Polly.

"Is your brain broken? Why the sudden tantrum?" Polly complained, packed up the manuscript on the bed, and grabbed her phone.

Victor, upon leaving the room, returned to his own, just as Isabella Lowe saw him.

Not staying in the same room as a couple?

Isabella sneered and returned to her own room.

Polly first video-called the teacher's wife; only after chatting individually with her two little buns did they agree to sleep. Mostly Tommy, as Benny still kept a cold and aloof demeanor, just like his annoying dad.

"Mommy doesn't come back, Tommy will get sick, lovesickness." Little Tommy rolled around on the bed.

"Mommy will be back in a couple of days." Polly mimicked Tommy's rolling, and made faces with her son until he laughed.

Little Benny sat on the bed playing with blocks, keeping an eye on his brother, afraid he'd roll off.

"How about it? Is the manuscript authentic?" The teacher's wife, sitting by the bed protecting Tommy, also asked.

"No." Polly had already digested this matter, "No need to search anymore. I saw a clearer photo today; I think I can make it."

"Just from a glance?"

"I think I can." Polly sat up and brushed her messy hair back, "No matter what, I have to try."

"What about the previous bidding project? Not doing it anymore?"

Polly paused, recalling Victor's earlier words cursing her.

[Polly, do you think your design can't compare to one that's long gone?]

"I can balance both." She wouldn't give up on the winding water, nor would she abandon her own design.

"Polly, no matter what you decide to do, neither your teacher nor I can stop you, just as long as you don't exhaust yourself." The teacher's wife said gently.

"Mhmm, I know, teacher's wife." Polly said with a smile, not caring about a particular sharp-tongued beast, "Benny, come, let mommy see if you have lovesickness."

Little Benny's newly finished blocks collapsed in an instant.

Polly's heart jumped suddenly and smiled guiltily when little Benny looked up at her.

"Mommy, that's not how you use lovesickness." Benny calmly reminded his mommy as he picked up the fallen blocks with a blank face.

Little Tommy immediately turned to his brother, "Yes, yes, yes, it's lovesickness."

Little Benny moved his lips, looked at his brother's pouty face with cheeks bulging, couldn't swallow a breath and sighed helplessly, reaching out to pat his brother's little head: "It is lovesickness."

Polly raised her hand like a dagger to her chest; after all these years, it was misplaced!

Why is the little son always better to the big son than to her?

Why is that?

Little Tommy smiled brightly at his brother, seriously saying to mommy, "Brother said it's lovesickness."

Polly lay on the bed, feeling lifeless, "I don't deserve my little son's love, life has no meaning."

"Mommy, you are a grown-up who can take responsibility for yourself, don't compare with brother." Benny educated seriously, "So mommy needs to learn how to grow up."

Polly continued playing dead, "Not only does he not care for his cute mommy, he also teaches his mommy how to behave."

"Mommy, I miss you." Benny said in a very quiet voice, looking down afterward, his fair little face seemed to flush a bit.

Suddenly Polly was energized, lying on the bed looking at little Benny's lowered head on the phone, "What did you say?"

"Brother said he misses mommy." Little Tommy loudly reported.

Seeing her little son's red ears, Polly felt life was complete.

She just loved seeing her little son's embarrassed yet calm demeanor, it was like bullying Victor.

Revenge, revenge!

After chatting with them for a while, seeing little Tommy yawning constantly and his head nodding like a pecking chick, Polly sent them to bed.

Meanwhile, Victor received an email, without a visible sender, filled densely with what seemed like code.

Victor sat by the window looking at the night sky; from here, he could see the shadow of the estate. After investigating for so many years, it felt like he finally found a loose thread.

Early in the morning, Polly tidied up and, with her little backpack, left the hotel alone.

Just as Polly left the hotel, she ran into Isabella Lowe, also leaving.

"Didn't expect you to hide so well, Mrs. Parker." Isabella stopped beside Polly, "No wonder you've been searching for the winding water, turns out it was to curry favor with the Parkers. Victor's original fiancée was the eldest Rook daughter; that's something everyone knows."

Polly looked at the woman beside her, "So, without others, no more tea gardens in the Pacific, but instead Confucius wearing a suit?"

Really displaying inner and outer inconsistency to the fullest.

"Polly, I grew up with Victor, I know him better than anyone. If you weren't valuable to him, he wouldn't spend a second on you." Isabella smiled and reminded, "Don't fall too deep because you'll be abandoned sooner or later."
