Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1

From the distant horizon, the sun rose slowly casting golden rays upon Lonsdale, the capital city of Daffodils. Soon an unexpected fog that seemed mild enveloped the lushly metropolis and would soon peter out, and life would go on in a hurly-burly of milling crowds. On the other horizon of the Macadam Lies birds of heaven that with their indelible knowledge wither as feet are sensed.

From the crest of one of the distant hills overlooking a pylon a confused cock crowed its belated cock-a-doodle down the valleys into Lonsdale. When the noise seemed to be staying in his pillows, this time a little eerie, Martin Hansen woke up. He had slept late the previous nights.

Martin was this young vibrant guy who was in his early teens. He was a guy every girl in Lonsdale and in the whole of Daffodils dreamt for. He was a handsome guy who did his best to protect the interest of his family since his father was not steady at home, as he had to meander around in search for a safe domain to inhabit, as he was chased by the Cops and he was on his heels.

He was actually on a case of accusation by a wealthy rich merchant in Daffodils of a crime he was an accomplice to, but plaid less important role in the scenery. Martin had a major role to play as he was the only child and was placed with the weighty responsibility of caring for his ill mother.

While romanticizing the thought and wondered about things he could not think about. Seconds later he was asleep again, he barely got enough sleep the night before. He was now engulfed into a deserted road, as he looked northward he saw his father, he ran to meet him and soon they began discussing.

'When are you coming back Dad?' Martin Asked.

In no time I should be back. But I have to go now. His Dad said.

Martin looked and saw that the Cops where almost in his space and uttered; Why not surrender yourself Dad, by that this might end soon?

You don't get it. His Dad said almost out of ear shot as he disappeared into thin air.

Martin woke up likely jerked out of his funky nightmare by another cock-a-doodle of the stupid, yes stupid, cock on the hill, discovered he was still in his room and that it was all a dream. After waking up from that heck of a dream his mothers fricassee hung in his nostrils and tantalized him as did grapes to Tantalus the son of Zeus in the Greek mythology.

Later that morning Martin haven had breakfast was all set to leave for school as he kissed his Mom's forehead and bade her bye.

He drove out on his bike. He had a bike he got on his graduation from School years past. He drove around then with it like he owned the streets; he was very fond of his bike. He drove out of their bungalow log–cabin–like structure of a home. On the way while riding he began thinking of the dream he had that morning, that he almost he became absent minded and almost bumped into a vehicle parked by the road side, almost immediately averts the incidence and meets yet another, a carefree pedestrian walking hands-free as it seemed the wind almost blew her away. Straight ahead is this vehicle coming at its best speedometer very recklessly, likely to knock her out. Martin jumped out of his bike for a rescue mission, the way he did the jump would have made Jackie Chan envious, grabbed hold of her and dives on to a heap of sand by the road, as the driver and his car made his way for their doom.

Hey! You must be very careful on this road the drivers are very reckless and guttural. Emmm! Thank you! I was lost in thought, but thank you. The Stranger hurriedly said.

You better Start thanking yourself. He mutters to himself up and made his way to school.

Martin attended level's college a cloister with a flowery fountain in which water flowed tho and fro with non-stop motion. The garage was something of good nature as the school was something to write home about.

The school was known for its ability in good inculcative skills as the teacher were very hardworking the principal of the novel college was on her side a workaholic, an affable, likely sunken-eyed woman who was in her late 50's

Martin attended that school but was still fresh and did not know anyone in the school, except for his books and the teachers.

He had met one of his friends jasper. He was this studious type that rarely had time for anyone only for his books and also he had this disappearing character that often withered because he would always wave it away.

He loved girls but this didn't seem to be a challenge to him as he covered it up with his intelligence he was a shyster who took joy seeing that he made a folly of something by grafting it by and getting the grail grade.

At first sight martin never liked him because he was seeing him the right he was.

He looked like a serpent yet innocent as a dove.

He was known for his encounter with bad boys and his affairs and relationship with girls.

Because of his devilish behavior he was creepy yet jovial, but he bumped a fight with martin that ended up on a thummium.

Later on that week, the two friends after having settled sat for their routine reading at the library.

Martin probably having a premonition of the lack of attention that lay ahead and left for his classes moments into the study.
