Chapter 55 - That day will come?

The black-haired maid couldn't help but nod her head earnestly, as a sigh of relief escaped her mouth when she heard Eirene's words. Now that Isis has fallen into a state of depression, getting her back into high spirits was nigh impossible.

She had literally tried countless times throughout the long years to get her back into high spirits, but... All her efforts ended in disappointment.

Eirene nodded her head and slowly opened the door; the wooden door creaked as Eirene stepped inside.

No sooner than Eirene stepped inside the room, her emerald green eyes reflected the depressed Isis within her field of vision.

Seeing her like this, she couldn't help but sigh. Isis was a goddess who was always cheerful and playful; there is no sign of that demeanour anywhere.

Slowly and carefully, she approaches the depressed Isis, who was gazing out the open window as though she was looking at something truly interesting and stopped only when she was at a distance of three feet.

She attentively observed Isis's facial expression and noticed her usual lively eyes were dark and lifeless. Eirene slowly opened her tiny mouth and carefully chose her words, for any misstep, and she would be thrown out of the room.

"Isis... I know what you're going through must be hard, with the loss of your brother, don't you think you should at least try to move forward instead of grieving all day?" Eirene asked, a bright smile adorning her beautiful face.

"..." However, she received no answers.

Isis didn't even react to her at all since she stepped inside. Seeing this, Eirene scratched her head. Honestly, she didn't know how to counsel her since she had never experienced the same situation.

Gods were born directly from a concept. Hendrix was born from the concept of 'Death', while Isis was born from the concept of 'Life'. They both came into existence at the same time.

They had also spent a long time together, because of their different personalities, and Isis is generally treated as Hendrix's older sister. A role that she takes very seriously, with the loss of her younger brother, she began to question her own existence.

It was already very rare for two gods or goddesses to be born at the same time; in fact there are only a handful of gods and goddesses who are in this situation. Unfortunately, Eirene was in the minority; she never experienced what it was like to have siblings, so she couldn't really find the right words to cheer her up since she didn't know what she was going through.

'Sigh, what should I do?' Eirene wondered helplessly. Ever since that incident, the island had been rather tense. The relationship between Isis and the other gods and goddesses who were involved was so bad that in the past, there had been countless wars and destruction. Many of the high-ranked gods decided to put a limiter on Isis to prevent her from rampaging again.

Eirene always had a good relationship with Isis, but that relationship seems rather stiff at the moment. "Seriously, what am I supposed to do now?" Eirene was so stressed that she unintentionally voiced her words out loud, but "..." Isis still made no reaction, even though she could easily hear Eirene's murmuring.

Inside her mind, all exists was 'Hatred!' She was thinking about ways she could kill the gods responsible for her brother's death.

...

Back in Kenta's location....

After training with Soul Eater for almost four hours straight, Kenta finally put down his sword as his face was covered with sweat.

"This sword... has it gotten heavier than before?" He questioned.

It took him a great deal of effort to swing his sword; the pressure its heavy weight placed on his hand was no joke. The blade was also so sharp that it could easily cut through solid rock with a single swing. Naturally, he was extremely happy about this development, but...

"I need to train my physical body some more," Kenta muttered to himself as he sat on top of a small rock while letting his small feet fall into a lake within the forest. His face relaxed as he felt the cold sensation of the water.

He also notices his control over lightning has gotten stronger and easier to control for some reasons he couldn't understand. "Somehow, my lightning feels more reachable now; it's like we have gotten closer than we were before." He said to himself. Although he felt strange thinking of lightning as his friend, that was the feeling he was having.

Kenta didn't know, but the divinity of lightning and thunder had completely merged and had become one with his soul.

...

In an unknown space....

A handsome man with long waist-length silver hair was currently being bound by countless silver chains. The man had his eyes closed, and it seemed as though he hadn't moved for a long time, as his wrists were cut in many places by the chains that clung tightly to his wrists.

When the man felt the divinity of death merge with Kenta's soul, a small, almost imperceptible smile appeared on his face. Slowly, his eyelids twitched a few times as he slowly opened his eyes... two bright crimson pupils blinked blankly as the man muttered to himself.

"It's almost time, it seems... Soon, my wish can be fulfilled." He didn't know how many years he had been sleeping, even though he had been trapped in this space with no way of leaving. His beautiful eyes didn't lose their shine as though he was confident the moment he had been waiting for would soon arrive.

'Only a few more years and that day will come.' Thinking that the silver-haired man once again closed his eyes with a small smile on his face.

....

Back in Kenta's location...

Kenta stood before a large, thick tree and held out his hand. Lightning sparkled before a blast of purple lightning shot out of his palm.

Swoosh!

The purple lightning drew a beautiful arc through the air as it crossed a distance of thirty meters in an instant.

BOOOM!

Once the lightning had made contact with the tree, it exploded dramatically and practically disappeared completely. "Strange, I didn't even have to chant the spell out loud?" Kenta tilted his head to the side in confusion.

He had never heard of a spell that could be used without any incantation. 'It's not just the incantation either, the spell didn't even need mana to activate?' He thought to himself. However, a small smile appeared on his face as he thought of many ways he could use his lightning in battle.

Fire-type spells are used for wide range destruction, water-type spells are used for either healing or defence, wind-type spells can be used offensively or defensively, depending on how skilled the user is.

Earth-type spells were mostly used to create barriers, or they can be used offensively in a wide range. Lightning is used to amplify the user's speed, allowing them to move at incredible speeds too fast for the human eye to follow.

When thinking of this, Kenta decided to amplify his speed. Purple lightning flickered around his small body, "Guh." His face grimaced as he felt the lightning coursing through the inside of his body. His internal organs were not completely immune to electricity. However, Kenta ignored the slight pain and focused on the density of the electricity, lowering the voltage to a reasonable degree.

Once he felt it was good enough, he tried moving!

Swoosh!

His body became a blur as he moved in a straight line through the forest of greenery, creating a purple line that stretched across the forest. He moved so fast that Kenta couldn't even see the scenery of the forest around him!

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

His body crashed into several trees, causing them to topple down one after another. All the unfortunate beast which were in a straight line were turned to meat paste as his body slammed into them!

'Shit!' Kenta exclaimed, noticing he was heading towards a mountain that stood tall in the far distance, even though he was only 10 kilometres away from making contact, which was a distance he could easily cross within a few minutes.

His body was also feeling a lot of pressure moving at such high speed unprotected; after all, he was currently travelling 100 miles per hour. He tried decreasing the electricity within his body to stop, but all his efforts were completely wasted.

BOOOOOOM!

The earth trembled for several seconds as the mountains that stood tall roughly 20 kilometres away collapsed dramatically and exploded, losing their previous beautiful structures. In the centre of the mountain, a huge hole opened up as the inner portions disappeared completely!

The sounds of beasts as howls echoed across the forest as the beasts all ran away from the large numbers of rocks which fell like heavy rainfall.

Lying within a giant crater of over 20 diameters, Kenta's face winced as he tried moving his body; he coughed out blood as he grimaced from the sensation of his slightly damaged bone.

"Damn, I need to make some adjustments to the density of the electricity." He muttered weakly. Honestly, he didn't expect that he would be able to move at such a speed.

"I guess now I can understand why the lightning element is so coveted among mages." The ability to move at such speed really is advantageous in battle.

Kenta ignored the state his body was in as he closed his eyes and thought of many different combat styles he could use. 'If I rely on speed, then the chances of my enemies escaping are impossible, while on the other hand, controlling that amount of speed won't be easy then... maybe?' An idea popped into his head at the same time an amused smile adorned his face.

"Maybe this could work." He muttered to himself.
