Zeph would have much rather have been called back to Central to come up with a solution for the recent uptick in Nephilim-backed gang activity, to babysit Archon Dolar so that Zimbo could focus on training up a few chefs, pr even to personally lecture at the academy for a few days than the actual reason why he and Allison had to make a sudden trip.
Zeph enjoyed interrogating suspects as much as any other Nephilim Enforcement officer, and Allison was still very much an active part of Internal Affairs, but neither of them wanted any part of having to interrogate one of their own for allegedly taking a bribe in relation to a string of major crimes that were still under investigation.
