*Boom*
The first thing that he had seen was a bright blind flash and the first thing he heard in hours was the thunderous boom that fell almost at the same time. His knees slammed into the underside of the table before him causing the half-full glass of water he was left with to spill across the table and run off onto his legs.
The officer to be questioned wasn't the only one who reacted strongly to the lightning strike that struck far too close to the building for comfort at the exact moment Zeph opened the door to the room where the officer was being held and would be questioned. Allison felt like her heart leaped into her throat, and the officers previously standing guard at the door visibly reacted.
"Damn, that was close. Check for structural and electrical system damage in the building and any hints of fires in the immediate vicinity. Also, try and avoid contact with any metal surfaces for a few minutes. That strike was likely within a few hundred yards of the building."
