Chapter 17 - F**k That Elf - 5

As the two of them discuss, they hear the creatures that were knocked down, climbing back up the walls. "Ahh damn it! Now they've gotten their spots back." The monk pokes his head out and sees only five feet in front of him. "Ok, you up." "Alright, all on me. Ahh." The drow sticks her head around the corner and steps to the right five feet and casts dancing lights in the middle of the room so the human can see two slimes hanging on the ceiling. The drow then moves back around the corner five feet and hides again. The human throws his roped spear but misses as it drops in front of him. "Try again." The drow encourages as the human bends down to pick it back up, then throws it again, piercing the slug, tugging downwards, making it fall from the ceiling, and using his strength throws it against the ground, causing the creature to explode upon impact. The drow moves around the human monk behind him five feet, then to his side, five feet shoots another creature on the left of the cavern's ceiling while moving, and bounces off the creature's stone hide. The drow moves back to where she was and attempts to hide again.

The human monk can see on the far left the drow had shot at a stone that's on the ceiling and has a sharp point, then pierces another creature with his spear, making the creature's shell crack, and the slug falls and hits the ground. The human then hits it again with his spear. He watches as the slug begins to bleed as the javelin is stuck in its side. The drow steps to the right five feet and aims at the creature on the ground with her bow, missing with a wide whiff. "Wow, ok." The drow steps back around the corner and behind the human hiding, whispering to him. "Dammit, My arrows find no purchase, with the addition of their stone skins and whatever they are…" The human watches as the slug tries crawling up the wall again, and stabs it again with a tossed spear, then tries to sling it against the wall with his strength but the creature refuses to budge. "Having fun playing tug of war? I certainly wouldn't" the drow steps left, aim at one of the unharmed creatures, and misses again. She steps back around to the safe spot she was behind the monk and disgusted she swaps out her scavenged arrows for her remaining normal arrows and goes back to hiding. The monk begins to feel as the rope starts to burn his hands, as the slug tries crawling away, but it stays put. The monk again tries to slam it into the ground. But the two of them struggle in place for a time.

"Worry not, just hold what you have, I'll skewer it I'm pretty sure." The drow steps around to the right and aims at the one she had previously missed with an actual drow forged arrow familiar in her bow, hitting the creature solidly, then steps back around the corner beside the human, quickly hiding again. The two of them watch as the creature, the drow shot, falls to the ground, almost smashing flat but kind of bouncing back up. "I think we have a good system going." The drow says. "You like aggravating me dontcha?" The human growls. The slug tries climbing up the wall as the human feels the rope burn in his hand. The other creature the drow knocked down slowly climbs back up the wall. The monk slams the creature on the rope against the ground heavily. The monk tightens his grip, turns over, and throws the creature into the ground behind and to the left side of him, killing the creature and recovering his roped spear. The drow steps over to the right five feet and aims at the one climbing the wall, hitting it and pinning it to the wall through its eye, where it slides down slowly leaving a trail of blood as its weight tears it off the arrow. The drow then steps back around the monk and hides, whispering. "The stalagmites there and there are monsters." The human monk throws his roped spear at the one without a stone skin, hits it, wounding it, and tries to pull it off the ceiling, but has too much trouble as if the creature is stuck on something. The drow grabs the rope and helps the human monk by tugging the rope with him, bracing the monk. The creature tries to move across the ceiling of the cavern but is unable to move with the two of them tugging on it. The human pulls but it doesn't move. "Ehh." The human grunts as he tugs again, pulling the creature off the ceiling, the slug's head going flying as the monk rips free the roped javelin with the assistance of the drow, its blood, and entrails splattering across the cavern walls and ground. "In all honesty, not too bad, seriously considering that we make an excellent team."

The drow presses herself against the stone before stepping left five feet and forwards five feet, aiming at the last remaining creature, striking it soundly, piercing it into its stomach, making the creature fall and die, "I think that's…. all of them. Mr monk, do you see anymore?" "Well, I can only see as far as this light allows." The drow steps forward ten feet and starts to investigate one of the various corpses in the area. "Mr. Monk, would you please assist me? There might be something useful or interesting considering how many of them are here." ''If you insist." The monk moves next to the drow and the two of them search the first bodies she had first spotted, finding a handful of teeth and more useful spears.

"More spears over here that are still usable." The drow hands them to the human, then moves on to the next body. The human briefly loses track of how many spears he had before realizing he now has eleven of them he is carrying. "I have… nine spears…. Ten spears…. Eleven." ''You certainly have a lot of spears. The drow says, "I'd feel rather naked without them." The human replies as the two of them stand above another lizard-like corpse. They find even more spears. "There are a LOT of spears here….. Just how many spears did they have!?" The two of them realize that the lizard-like people all are carrying the same gear, the same clothing, and the same weapons. "Ummm… Do you reckon this was a clan or something?" "Looks like." the human says in response to the drow's questions. "Do you reckon they have a name?" "Uuuummmm. We could find out." ''How so?" "We find out where they came from. Follow them… find out where they came from? Should be pretty simple from there." ''True, True. But I'm more interested in the fact they were mining this material. Most monstrosities don't mine, they are not smart enough to do that." The drow moves further north towards the last three corpses in the chamber. "Oh boy, lots of them around here uhh…" she kneels and investigates all three of them, finding nothing of interest, other than more spears, picks, and rotten armor.
