CELESTE
I was freaking out from the morning. I couldn't sleep again even though I was sleepy. Yes, especially after realizing how closely he could observe me from his balcony.
A maid had knocked on the door and told me to find Ms. Kyle in the servant quarter and get assigned to today's task. I expected the worst thing, to be honest.
When I reached the servants' quarter, it was already buzzing with haste and chores. Girls in aprons rushed in and out of the narrow hallway, their faces flushed and eyes downcast like they had already been scolded twice this morning.
"Are you the new one?" A sharp voice rose behind me.
It was Ms. Kyle. Of course, I recognized her right away.
I turned around. She was standing with her arms folded and a frown carved permanently into her face.
"Yes, Ms. Kyle." I murmured.
