Madam Web.

(A/N: For the record it's the one from the 1994 Spider-Man series. Not the atrocious monster Sony made)

Seeing the spider-related psychic and clairvoyant I couldn't help but unconsciously feel a lump form in my throat.

Since when anyone like this associated with Spider-Man shows up it usually means some shit is about to go down.

God, I really fucking hope one of the Totem Wars/Spider-Verse events isn't about to start.

Since I'm really not in the mood to deal with Morlun and the Inheritors at the moment.

Nor am I prepared to get Gwen involved in that shit.

No matter what anyone says.

"Who are you?" Gwen asked.

"Madam Web is my name, and being associated with Spider-Totems is my game." She rhymed. Putting an eerie smile on her face.

Leaving me even more weary of her current intentions towards Gwen and I.

"Spider-Totems? I don't understand what you're getting at." Gwen spoke again.

Me simply nodding my head in agreement.

Playing along. Even though I knew damn well what Madam Web was referring to.

Wondering if she knew that I knew? Since I still have no idea how I ended up as Peter Parker in the first place.

"Oh, no need to worry Ms. Stacy. In time both you and Mr. Parker will come to know exactly what I mean." She said in a cryptic manner.

But I knew it meant in the future both Gwen and I would be involved in the multiversal spider wars to come.

Fucking wonderful.

I'm being sarcastic if you can't tell.

"But today I just came go introduce myself. Well, ta ta for now." Madam Web spoke.

She then faded back into the pink mist and disappeared entirely.

The mist itself dissipating once she had.

After this was over Gwen looked at me. "What the fuck was that?" She asked.

"No idea." I replied. Lying smoothly. I then walked up to Gwen and gently took her hands in mine. "But whatever comes of our strange encounter just now we'll face it together."

"Right." Gwen replied. "Though does strange stuff like that happen all the time when you're a superhero?"

"Eh, fifty-fifty." I mused. Shaking my left hand in the middle of the air.

"But enough of that, are you ready to start taking your first steps in what I'm sure will be a fantastic superhero career?"

"Despite what just happened, yeah I am." Gwen replied.

"Well then let's get started. First step, suit construction." I proclaimed. "Spinner!"

"Yes, Peter?" He asked.

"Start the music."

"Of course." He replied.

Starting to play my work jam mix list.

The first song being '5 Years Time's by Noah and the Whale.

The moment it started I offered Gwen my hand. "May I have this dance my lady?"

Taking it she nodded. "Of course, Mister Parker." She replied.

Once she did the two of us got to work.

[March 2nd, 2011]

(A/N: One training montage later)

Standing atop the Chrysler building, in my original spider suit, I took in the view of New York City in front of me.

Gwen standing on my left.

Dressed in her very own, first ever spider suit.

For during the past two weeks she has completed the basic training I demanded of her, to a level of my satisfaction, and now is finally ready to pop her superhero cherry.

"Peter. While I love you're finally giving me permission to join you in the field. Mind explaining to me why we are currently standing atop the Chrysler building?"

"Simple. It's so you can make your debut to the world in style." I explained. Adding in jazz hands for emphasis. "The world at large knows nothing about Ghost-Spider. So why not make a big first impression? That's why you're taking your first true leap of faith from such a place."

"Right. And it has nothing to do with you wanting us to look cool?" She asked.

"My dear Gwendolyn, of course it absolutely does. For looking cool is also part of the superhero game." I explained. I then did a dramatic pose.

Gwen simply looking at me, and Ijust knew under her mask she is wearing a deadpan expression.

But I'm also sure she's laughing on the inside.

So that's really all that matters.

"Alright, enough talk. Time to go." I said.

I then jumped off the side of the building without any hesitation.

Gwen joining me.

"Dammit Parker, why did I let you talk me into this?!" Gwen screamed as he descnded.

"Because you trust me. And you have every right to, since I will never steer you wrong!" I shouted back.

Firing off a web line. "Now, swing!" I said.

Beginning to swing.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Gwen fire off her own web line and join me.

Her screams quickly turning into cries of excitement once she got the hang of things.

"Okay. I take it back." Gwen admitted. "You were right."

"Thank you. Apology accepted." I replied.

"Sorry to interrupt. But there is a warehouse on fire in your immediate vicinity that is a know spot where the unhoused reside." Spinner spoke over the comms.

"Let's go." I said.

"Right." Gwen replied.

So with that the two of us swung in the direction of the warehouse.

Arriving just as police and fire pulled up.

But paying them no mind Gwen and I swung and entered the building.

I then immediately noticed several people around us.

"I go left, you go right." I said.

Gwen gave me nothing more than a curt nod before walking over to the first unhoused and slinging the man across her left arm. While then immediately moving onto a second and doing the same.

Seeing she was handling things on her own I went over to my side.

The two of us then evacuated everyone we could find.

Ignoring the looks directed at Gwen as we did.

Until finally we had gotten everyone out.

When we did the unhoused began thanking us.

Even the officers on the scene walked up to do so.

One of them finally asking the question Gwen and I had been waiting for.

"Sorry Ms. But who are you? Spider-Man girlfriend?"

"Why, yes. I am." Gwen replied without hesitation. "And the names Ghost-Spider." She spoke. Remember it!" She punctuated.

Just as Spinner contacted the two of us over comms again.

When he did we webbed off to fight another crime.

Me feeling Ghost-Spider introduction to the world went very well.
