Raine Mullen was in utter shock. She had originally hired two thugs to go teach Vera Warner a lesson and thought she'd be hearing good news soon.
But she couldn't get in touch with those two men at all. That was why when Vera Warner called, she assumed it was them reporting in, never imagining it would be Vera herself.
Now Vera wanted her to go to the Warner residence to clean up the paint. Of course she wouldn't go. She could only respond haughtily, "I have no idea what you're talking about. You're such a meddler. Maybe someone else decided to get back at you for a change."
Vera Warner couldn't help but laugh at her words. She threatened, "Since you want to play it that way, I won't hold back. Just a word of advice: next time you want to go after someone, you'd better do a thorough background check. It'd be a shame to provoke someone you can't afford to offend."
