Vera Warner had been dealing with a lot lately and hadn't started a new job. Now that she was suddenly facing so much demanding work, Victor Morgan was worried she wouldn't be able to handle the strain.
She could have lived a life of ease by Victor Morgan's side, but she chose to strike out on her own, wanting to prove her capabilities.
"I think I'll be fine. Besides, these are all things I want to do. You don't have to worry about me."
"I know what you're like, so I won't try to talk you out of it. Just take care of yourself, and make sure you remember to eat all three meals."
As he spoke, Victor Morgan placed the food he'd brought in front of her. The tantalizing aroma hit Vera Warner, and her stomach rumbled. It was only then she realized she hadn't eaten anything all day.
"Victor, you know me too well."
