At a time like this, Victor Morgan couldn't hide it any longer. He nodded. "Exactly. I was thinking there might be a clue hidden in a place Vera has stayed before. You've known her for so many years—did she ever talk about any unusual or special places?"
Victor Morgan reasoned that the place Vera was being held had to be incredibly secret, and it was possible she might have mentioned it before. That's why he was so desperate to explore that possibility.
But Vera had mentioned so many places over the years. Being asked to recall them all at once, Ian Lockwood's mind went completely blank.
"Let me think," he said. "Vera used to tell me about a lot of fun places, and she mentioned some unique spots, too. I don't know if any of them could be their hideout."
Hearing this, Victor Morgan quickly found a pen and paper. He set them on the table and urged Ian to sit down and think.
