Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: The One Missed Witness

"What? why?!" Amisha asked as Laurentina started lighting up her white flames around her.

"Stay out of this, hunter!" as Laurentia created a barrier of fire, blocking Amisha from interfering.

She continued, "The Follower Of The One consist of those who wanted to use the monster to destroy the 12 Rulers! If they are a part of them, then they must die!"

Laurentina rose her white flames up high and prepared to bring it down on Molly. Amisha quickly think of anything that can stop Laurentina, and that is when it clicked.

Amisha yelled out, "Your master saved them, didn't he?"

Laurentina stopped at Amisha's words. Amisha continued, "Don't you think you should ask him for permission first? You heard him yourself, he likes them.. What will he think if you kill them?"

Laurentina hold all of her fire on bay and thought about it for a few seconds before finally putting off all of her flames. "Well said, their fate will be decided once Lord Yamikani returns, but I want them to be tied!" as she pointed at a rope nearby.

"That's fair," Amisha sighed in relief as she began walking towards the rope to tied both Molly and Stanley so that Laurentina wouldn't have to kill them.

Elsewhere, the night has come, and so the darkness had begun to covered up the forest on Gobo Mountain. But in the midst of darkness, a light from a flashlight began to appear, as Frank Reece returned to where it all began. He was trying his best to redirect his attention from his failure and the death of his close friend, and so he thought by figuring out the answer to his questions, he may find a peace of mind.

"Who is that woman? What is her relationship with the monster? Is she his mother? Where was the monster born? Why did Lord Yamikani brought them with him? Are they to be executed? What am I missing here?" he asked himself right before he was interrupted with a familiar voice.

"Frank! Enough is enough! The monster is dead! Lord Yamikani killed him, remember?" Ray yelled out.

"No! He didn't kill them, I saw it, Hafsa... she.. she is lying!" Frank yelled back at Ray.

"Frank! You are tired, you must have been hallucinating, why would a ruler bring the monster with him? Why on earth will Hafsa lied for a Ruler? What are you even doing here right now? There is nothing to be found in here either way!"

"No! There has to be.... there has to be..." Frank said powerlessly as he fell to the ground.

"Frank! Damn it!" Ray ran over to help Frank out. He grabbed Frank's arm and started to lift him up from the ground. Frank could barely stand, so Ray started to support Frank's weak body and began to help him walked out from the forest. Frank weakly refused as he started moving around, annoying Ray. Ray was pissed as he yelled out,

"Frank, listen to me, we have been doing this for hours now, you are still wounded, you shouldn't even be moving around right now. I know you feel you could have done something more, you could have been more useful, you could have prevented Percy's death, but we did what we could today, who on earth would have thought a whole terrorist organization will appear out of nowhere and started destroying everything. Even a fricking Ruler arrived! Things just went out of our hands.. and it doesn't mean we didn't do our best. It is time to rest."

Frank didn't reply, he remained silent for a few seconds before finally nodding in agreement. They began walking out of the forest when they stumbled upon a shrine. Ray was about to go past it when Frank's hand reached out to Ray's head and started to clap it.

"Huh?!" Ray stopped and glanced at Frank, confused. "What? What do you want?"

Frank pointed at the shrine and Ray turned his head to see what the fuss was about. He saw the shrine and asked, "What? You want to pray now?"

"That.. that's not an ordinary shrine you idiot, that's the "Awal" shrine."

"So...? Is that suppose to mean something to me?"

Frank sighed and continued to speak,

"About a century ago, Lord Farhan, the immortal Ruler, massacred all of the monks here, including the great Hagar Rodrigo, a wise and powerful monk who prophesied the coming of a god who will bring the end of the immortals, the god would have risen from this very shrine. Lord Farhan as an immortal was furious of Hagar's statement that he killed everyone who was connected to the monks that resided in the shrine and destroyed the entire shrine itself so that no one will be able to fulfill the prophecy."

"Wait... Are you saying..."

"Yes, if the monster was born there.... then the baby might just be the prophesied god."
