Chapter 14 - Dungeons and...Foreboding Warning?

Wow. Thank you main quest, as if you weren't hard already, now you truly have gone to the impossible. And here I was, worried it might too EASY or something. Ha...ha ha...ha ha ha...how am I going to complete this main quest...

At this point, I'm not even mad. This has been happening so much I just accepted my fate. Now then, how should I go about approaching this quest? I don't think the deity realm will EVER be enough to complete this quest. Does that mean I need to ascend to the realm above it?

"Hey, Alfred? What realm is the being that holds the key to unseal the dragons at?" I ask, trying my best to not alert them that I was planning on facing it. I failed.

"NO! MY LORD, YOU SIMPLY CANNOT! YOU CAN'T SURVIVE AGAINST SUCH A BEING! NOT UNTIL YOU REACH THE DEMIURGE-" Barron stopped himself right, with a face that showed that he revealed something he clearly should not have.

"So Demiurge is the realm the being is at, eh?" I see. I seriously hope Demiurge is the realm right after Deity, else I'm dead. Or well, I guess I'll suffer a face worse than death. Oh god I seriously do not want to know what the fate is.

Alfred, seeming displeased, seems to have accepted that I have already made my mind up about facing this being. "Very well. It seems we cannot convince you otherwise. The only thing we can do is to most likely further your strength so you can shoulder the burden placed on you, my lord.

"In order to get an idea of where to start, could you tell me which god's inheritance you got?"

I frown. Which god's? I got all of them though...

Confused, I reply "Oh, I got all of theirs, though they're currently locked."

They both blinked hard. Barron, with a voice filled with hope, asked, "Wait, I heard that properly, right? You have the essence of the whole group of deities?"

This just furthered continued my confusion, as I confirmed. "Yes. At least, I think."

"I-impossible!" Alfred stuttered. Barron, on the other hand, was quite excited. "As expected of our progenitor! Barely stepping into godhood and already doing things other beings can't do!"

I just couldn't hold on anymore. This furthered my confusion to the point I just had to ask. "Is there something special about having the inheritance of the gods?"

"AND HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW STRONG HE IS! Man, this guy might have just been the strongest progenitor we've if he weren't stuck on that planet." Barron said as he bellowed with laughter.

Alfred, shaking off the shock, responded. "O-of course my lord! In order to even have a single life inheritance, one must have an extremely strong soul! To be able to have multiple, that's simply unprecedented! It's a wonder that your soul hasn't blown up yet!"

Wait...what? But I thought it was safe! That god! He tricked me! I could've died! Well, not that being mad at him would do anything anyway, he's already dead, after all. And the inheritance has brought me many benefits...

"With this...yes, it's possible..." Alfred said, turning to Barron and says something to him. "Do you...want to him a skill?"

"ARE YOU CRAZY? GIVING HIM OUR SKILLS WILL DEFINITELY SHATTER HIS VASSLE! EVEN IF HE'S OUR PROGENITOR, HE'S STILL IN THE AVATAR REALM!" Barron suddenly yells.

"I know. It's a big stretch. But, if we don't give him the skills, he'll never be able to face...that creature. We're running out of choices." Alfred simply responded, trying to talk sense into Barron.

"Unless he can somehow absorb large amounts of essence quickly, we can only do so much."

Wait...absorb large amounts of essence quickly you say? It just so happens that I might be able to do that.

"Alfred, I think I have a way to do just that." I say, shocking the dragons even further.

"Wait what? My lord, what do you mean by that?"

"You see, I actually have the ability to gain essence whenever I kill a being." As I say this, both Barron and Alfred go silent. After a few seconds, Alfred responds.

"A way to...gain essence whenever you kill a being? How is something like that possible? I have never heard of such a technique in this realm!"

Since I know I can trust them, I tell them about my system. The more I explain, however, the more shocked Alfred gets. Barron, however, adopts a worried face.

"I-I have heard of this...system, before." Barron spouts out, surprising both me and Alfred. He's heard of this system before? I thought it was unique to me!

"While I don't know much about it, there is one thing I do know...nothing is free in this world. That is the warning I was told to pass on to any system user." Barron says ominously.

"HUH!?!?!?" We exclaim. What is this? Foreshadowing? Is the system going to come alive and eat me or something?

"Any more than that...I do not know. The only reason I even know about this is because of a being I encountered in my journey. The reason this warning has such a profound impact on me...was because of that being. He emanated an extreme amount of power, yet his eyes...those eyes were the eyes of a man who has lost everything."

Man. How ominous. What is this, a thriller novel? Here I was, hoping I would have a nice, easy, op life. But now, not only do I have to save my universe, I get an ominous warning about my system. Sigh. Life just can't be easy, can it?

For a few minutes, everyone went silent.

"While I think the warning is something we should be careful about, we have no choice but to rely on our lord's system right now." Alfred says, breaking the silence.

"Right." Barron responds, returning to his old self.

"I...I think I might have a way for you to get stronger even faster, my lord." Alfred finally says.

"In order for you to grow, you require monsters, right? I might just have a way to get these monsters to you easily...

"In your inheritance, you should know of the skill known as training room, correct? Well that skill is actually quite a groundbreaking skill, mainly for a single reason. It can create dungeons."

It can create dungeons!?!? What a bombshell Alfred casually drops on me! This might just be the to get stronger faster!

"Of course, in order to succeed, you would need your inheritance to be unlocked, so we cannot do anything currently. However, it is far better to fight creatures in the comfort of your own dimension than it is to fight them just anywhere. Also, we should be able to continue with my idea from earlier due to your system," Alfred continues.

"Now hold up a second. Even with this system, this guy's physical vessel isn't strong enough to handle the full power of our skills. We can only give him a temporary replica," Barron counters.

"I think Barron is right in this. I don't want to risk too much just yet, simply give me the watered down version of the skills," I say, deciding to give my own opinion on this.

"Very well, we shall do just that then." Suddenly, a bright light engulfs Alfred and Barron as a system prompt appears in front of me.
