While watching, Rohan had briefed Roy about Sharmishtha getting attacked. Roy went off to Sengupta to have a chat face to face. Now, with the bodycam gone, Rohan could only see her through the camera of the north wing corridor. She was walking limply as her hand searched for the walls to rely upon. It felt like she was unable to see or, hear because even with a half damaged mic Rohan could hear Arjun's faint voice calling but apparently she was not hearing anything. Blood dripping from her wounds, made her seem horrible. 'What was that smoke? She needs assistance. Roy better turn up quickly. Wait, she is going in a different direction...doesn't that lead to the roof? What is she planning? Damn it! Oh! Arjun Sir seems almost close!"
Rohan watched Sharmishtha slowly climbing the roof and Arjun hurrying up to find her with his heart pounding in his chest. He was anxious that with her current state and the snow on the roof, she might fall off. Arjun was chasing after her. Suddenly at the edge of the roof, Sharmishtha fell off. "Nooooooooo," Rohan screamed as did Arjun. Rohan tried to search up footage as Arjun was seen hurrying to the edge looking down. The camera on the edge of the roof wasn't looking down. He was utterly shocked. He called up Roy to explain everything. As he was describing the footage, suddenly his voice broke and tears rolled down his cheeks. "Don't leave the room. Dig up some more footage. I am going to the mansion along with Sengupta. We have an ambulance as well. Don't worry, we will bring them back," said Roy consoling Rohan. Rohan nodded and disconnected the call. He wasn't even in a state to say something back.
Suddenly, someone knocked at the door. Might be the food Roy ordered. Rohan opened the door slowly. A man entered with some sandwiches, coffee and cake. Rohan stayed at the door silently while the man placed everything on the coffee table and left. Rohan slowly went back to the computer. His stomach was churning. But he wasn't in a mood to eat. He was now keeping an eye on Arjun as he was running around the mansion to reach Sharmishtha. Rohan could only see which corridors he was crossing. The cameras in the garden weren't responding due to heavy snow. Rohan sighed. Things had gone terribly wrong. This was also the footage of the past few hours. Both of their current locations were unknown. Rohan was too tired or maybe it was due to starving himself that he was feeling too weak. Roy called him up once again to inform him that they were in the mansion now and they need Rohan's help to find Arjun and Sharmishtha. This time the call wasn't disconnected. Rohan was unable to keep his eyes open. At last, he gave up on his quest of starving himself to death and took a sandwich and poured some coffee. He drank the coffee in one go and took a bite of the sandwich. Rohan was trying to skip footage to the most relevant moments. When he suddenly saw Arjun entering the large dining in the north wing where they had stayed previously. There was no more footage of Arjun or Sharmishtha to be found. There was no camera in that room may be as Rohan couldn't find any footage. He finished up the sandwich and informed Roy. 'Did Arjun Sir give up on finding her?'
In a moment of the chase, Rohan had forgotten all about the mic still intact to Sharmishtha. "If anyone's listening please send an ambulance! Boss is badly hurt. I have taken some snow to ease her pain...I have also put up some fire to keep her warm but I don't know how long she would survive. My cellphone has died out," suddenly Arjun's broken voice came from the mic that was on Sharmishtha. Rohan's eyes were glistening in hope. It felt like a ray of sunshine. Rohan excitedly informed Roy.
"When was the message recorded?" asked Roy.
"Um I am not sure but about an hour ago maybe," replied Rohan.
"Great! See I told you, we will find them. Now you can get some rest," Roy told Rohan.
Rohan laid back on the armchair. He wasn't exactly at peace but to know that Arjun was there with Sharmishtha and Sengupta and Roy might soon find them gave him slight relief. His stomach churned again. Right, he should eat some more to avoid fainting. He went to the coffee table. As he reached for another sandwich suddenly, he noticed a wooden jewellery box on the side of the plate. 'Wait, why would someone bring a jewellery box here? It wasn't here on the table before if I remember correctly. There must have been some mistake! Or, maybe it had something complementary!'
Rohan gradually opened the box. To his surprise, he discovered four dried up black roses. He threw away the box in annoyance. This was no good time to joke with him. He went back to the computer with the plate of sandwiches. He was scrolling away with the footage lazily.
Meanwhile, Roy and Sengupta along with four constables and a medical team entered the mansion. They went straight to the large dining of the north wing. Roy led the way. Arjun was lying on the snow-covered floor of the large open balcony that had a staircase leading to the garden. Roy ran up to him. When he got closer, he discovered fresh blood on the snow and a still beaming fire. With a little distance to Arjun, there was dried up scattered blood on the snow but Sharmishtha wasn't there. Roy's heart skipped a beat. By the description of Rohan, Roy was certain that she couldn't have gone anywhere by herself. Someone obviously kidnapped her. Suddenly, Sengupta called Roy.
"Mr. Roy, see here, Mr. Singh has a piece of torn cloth in his left hand. Do you recognise it?" he asked.
Roy instantly recognised the black checkered midi that Sharmishtha was wearing underneath her coat. "Sharmishtha!" he sighed.
Sengupta was instructing his men to take Arjun safely to hospital with two constables, while the other two stayed with Sengupta and Roy.
Roy was walking around the balcony to find some footprints or anything that may lead them to Sharmishtha while Sengupta was looking up the camera and wiretaps for evidence. Roy was growing more and more impatient with Sengupta. Only if he had listened to them earlier this morning, they would have found Sharmishtha as well. As he was walking down the garden, he found four black roses lying on the snow just on the edge of the jetty. Roy was staring at it vaguely without a word. Sharmishtha would have been the one to get panicked if she saw it. But, till now, Roy couldn't find any meaning behind it.
Sengupta appeared from the side of the garden. He took a glance at the edge and signalled his officers to take a photo. He then turned to Roy. "Mr. Roy, here, I must ask you to return. I will be sending these two officers for your safety. If you don't feel that the hotel is safe, you are free to stay at my quarter. I will update you once we have found Sharmishtha."
"No, I won't be returning," stated Roy. "If it weren't for you, we wouldn't be in this situation. I have no reason to trust you certainly I can't go back."
Sengupta lit up a cigarette and took a puff. He was way too calm which was making Roy angrier. "You must go back. If you stay here for debates, it will only waste more time. So it's up to you whether you want us to find your friend or stay here having a debate on who's fault it is," he replied lightly.
Roy clenched his fist. He was on the edge of blowing up. His face was red. He ground his teeth. But, he was very worried about Sharmishtha so he didn't stay any more and left. "I won't spare you if you don't find her!" his taut voice echoed in the mountains.
Sengupta nodded lightly with a grin on his face.
