Larissa sat below tree shades, leaning at its wide trunk as a breeze blew past her floating her long hair in the air. Luna is nowhere to be found around the tree but if one looks up from the Larissa position they can see Luna climbing the tree.
"Luna, is this really necessary? I mean, you can get roasted sweet chestnuts from the cafeteria. Why waste time like this? And I'm afraid you might accidentally fall from this up " Larissa raises her head to look at Luna plucking sweet chestnut different branches and some of these branches are thin as they look they will snap at any given moment. She couldn't think of a reason why Luna would take such a risk and how these branches haven't snapped under her weight yet.
"We are making sweet memories together with this sweet chestnut dear, you'll know when the time comes. Hehehe." Luna looked at Larissa's worried face below and laughed as she climbed up to different branches and began plucking one she found the best among the sweet chestnuts and placing them in a hidden pocket inside her blazer.
A few minutes later Luna climbed down from the chestnut tree with a huge smile on her face. As she shows one sweet chestnut to Larissa. "Look at this, isn't its perfect."
Larissa looked at the chestnut in Luna palm, it indeed looked better but before she could say anything she heard something.
"Look at these countryside bumpkins." Three girls walked past them as one of them looked in their direction and softly said to her other two friends but she didn't lower her voice enough cause she wanted to let them hear the insult too.
"You..." Luna walks forward to get into a verbal argument but Larissa holds her hand, stopping her from getting into a fight.
"Luna, its not worth it. Let's go somewhere else."
"No, we can't let them just get away with it like this."
"But it would create the scene and its been just second day of our High school, let it go for now." Larissa looked at the face of three girls, she knows they're their classmates. All three of them had one striking features pale white skin and blue eyes. From the way they walk is filled with grace and etiquette but they seem to be full of themselves, rich girls with big ego and fake personality. That's all she could think of as they watch them walking inside deeper part of the park.
"Luna, forget about them. Let's go back to our dormitory room, we have already been out for more than half hour." Larissa looks at Luna with a worried face as Luna seems deeply offended by their remarks about them but Larissa fails to hear things that Luna heard they said about them as the trio walks ahead.
"Okay, I'm letting them go this time because of you Larissa or else I would have printed their face into the tree trunk." Luna said this with a smile on her face like a sunflower but Larissa didn't feel warm but a little bit chill as even though Luna showed a normal face she can tell she's still angry at them and didn't truly let go of this matter.
All the way to the dormitory room Luna didn't say a single word as they walked, inside their room she opened her phone and kept scrolling down the funny video and recipes on WeTube app and slept early at night.
Next day, Larissa looks at Luna walking beside her with a normal expression as nothing has happened but she seems a little bit off.
"Luna?"
"Umm, what?" Luna looked at Larissa's eyes, she could already tell what she's about to ask.
"Are you okay?"
"Ofcourse I am. Why would you ask such a thing?" Luna said with a perfect innocent smile on her face.
'She's really good at masking her emotions and not showing any discontent.' Sweat drops from Larissa's forehead as to how she would answer such a question without hurting her or not reminding her about her yesterday. Larissa helplessly dropped her shoulder.
"Ahumm, you see I didn't see Laetitia yesterday after school or today too as we left the dormitory." Larissa remembers Laetitia's shy face and it's easy to divert conversation from her to Laetitia this way. It was a bit mean of her to do that.
"I haven't seen either. Maybe she left earlier than us?" Luna looked around the girls walking around them but she couldn't see the face of Laetitia in them. 'Maybe, she left early I guess.'
"Hey, you are Luna right?" Luna turned around to see who called her name but she didn't see anyone, she made a full circle turning around looking for the owner of the voice.
'Am I day dreaming or it's just a voice in my head?' Luna couldn't think of a reason why she couldn't see who called out her name, is it some kind of prank? Just as she moved one step forward something hit. Luna looked below and saw the head of a girl hitting her stomach.
Startled she jumped two steps back almost colliding with girls walking behind her, "What was that? You scared the shit out of me little girl."
"You could have seen me coming from miles ahead, if you could have just paid attention like normal people while walking on the road but you walked like a damn bird looking at the sky all the time." Kealyn despite having a cute appearance, her attitude and personality are completely different and she got pretty sharp tongue and a bit of ego that gets hurt quite quickly.
"My bad, I didn't mean that but I didn't see you coming. I was looking for my friend... But she was nowhere to be found." Luna said as it felt a bit awkward being called a bird in front of everyone. It gets on her nerves but she can let it go this time as she made a mistake too.
"Better pay attention next or your eyes would sink inside your eye socket, if you keep looking above while walking." Kealyn didn't let go of the matter till she said something that meant her final remark got on Luna's nerves as she doesn't even know her nor her name and she's the one who approached her first now she's being bluntly rude to her.
"That explains a lot why you are so deep inside the earth's crust, aren't you fierce little chiwawa." Luna closed her eyes and her smile went from sunflower sunshine to smirk as if couldn't hold her laugh at someone so funny looking.
As she slowly opens her eyes, everyone around them is staring at her, their faces the same frown and unpleasant expression as if she is being judged for grave offence. She turned her head around to see Larissa, to explain what happened in split seconds that completely changed the world.
Larissa looks awkwardly at Luna questioning gaze, she moves her eyes down to look at the face of one who caused this mess. Luna lowered her gaze to see what this girl had done to take everyone at her side, as Luna looked at her she got the answer she was looking for.
"I... I... I'm not... I'm not chiw... Chiwawa... Looking... Girl... I'm not chiwawa." The girl has teary eyes as tears are just about to fall from her face but she's holding back her tears with all her strength. Luna's words deeply hurted her to heart, everyone couldn't bear to see such a cute little girl being bullied in open space and calling such a cute and innocent girl chiwawa is rude and shameless behaviour.
Everyone present around them labels Luna as a mean bitchy girl, if she can bully someone so openly they can't imagine how she would bully someone in close space. There's a clear look of disgust in their eyes, as they saw how spoiled kids act in middle school before but this is a different place no bullying is allowed here so openly. Bystanders start talking among themselves as
"Did you see how she openly bullied Keanly?"
"Yeah, such a shameless bitchy personality girl. I always hate this type of entitled spoiled brats, they boost their ego by bullying weak and innocent students."
"Hey, Sydney is that girl from your class?" One of the girls asks as she looks at Luna's face.
"Yeah, she's full of herself though, everyone tried to approach her friendly but she got the attitude and ignored everyone and walked around with that loner girl only." Sydney was one of the girls who tried to befriend Luna but Luna didn't go out with her to join her group. As she knew would be just a small minion for her not friend.
Luna just stood like statue as she watch Keanly fascial expression and sudden change in mood and emotions, her such behaviour didn't go unnoticed by the others but they thought. She's too shocked to speak as stood with the victim. Larissa keep hearing everyone words as they start talking bad about Luna, she knew Luna isn't like that and its not her fault that everything went like this but they not going to change their opinion from the way they talk and she's afraid if they keep saying things like or do something bad Luna might get hurt a lot.
"Luna, isn't the one at fault. It was her who bumped into her first and said mean and rude things even though we didn't want any trouble. She started this first and now acting like a victim." Larissa said as she looked at the face of everyone who is bad mouthing Luna, when they didn't even see the whole thing and didn't hear what this girl they consider as victim said to Luna.
"Its okay, Larissa, I was the one at fault. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. It was my fault for being rude to you when we just met." Luna bowed her head as apologize to Keanly. Larissa felt sad as she knew it was her fault and Keanly started this first.
Luna felt a warm hand holding her wrist as Larissa dragged her out from the mob surrounding them. Larissa moved aside everyone as they walked back to their class, again Luna didn't speak anything as she thought of everything that happened.
