Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 The 3rd Option

Darkness.

When I opened my eyes, that strange floating feeling hit me again — twice in a single day.

"Good morning," a voice said cheerfully.

I blinked awake.

Gojo Satoru's smiling face hovered above me, upside-down.

"…Am I dead?" I muttered.

"Nah," he said. "Not yet."

The Choice

I realized I was tied up — ropes and paper talismans crisscrossing my body like some kind of cursed cocoon.

Gojo leaned back on his heels and tilted his head."So… which one of you am I talking to right now?"

"…I'm me," I said quietly.

"Good," he said with a grin. "That makes this easier. Anyway—" he pointed at himself with his thumb,"—Satoru Gojo. Head of the first-years at Jujutsu High."

"…Okay… so what happened to Fushiguro?

"You shouldn't be worrying about others right now, Yuji Itadori," Gojo replied calmly."Because… it's been decided that you are getting secretly executed."

I froze."...What?"

Gojo sighed and sat cross-legged on the floor."Okay, long story short: you ate a special-grade cursed object. Sukuna's finger. Now Sukuna lives inside you. Fushiguro begged me to save you… so I did."

My mouth felt dry. "And that means…?"

"The end result," Gojo finished, "is still your execution."

Silence.I stared down at the floor.

Something felt off. I was going along with all of this…but I could feel something steer in my heart, someone deciding my fate, my heart was boiling and the moment i was about to blow up in rage he continued.

"However," Gojo said lightly, breaking the tension, "I suspended your execution temporarily."

"…Temporarily?" I repeated.

He reached into his coat and pulled out something that made the air around it hum—a grotesque, blackened finger.

"There are twenty of these in total," Gojo said. "We've found six. Watch."

Cursed energy flared around his hand like a miniature blue sun. He crushed the finger in his palm—

BOOM

I flinched. It was terrifying… and beautiful. Not just the power, but his control.—the air shook, the floor cracked… but the finger remained perfectly intact.

"They can't be destroyed," he said."The curse is too powerful. They grow stronger every day. Our seals aren't keeping up. That's where you come in."

He smiled like this was all perfectly normal."If you die, the curse inside you dies too. The elders want to kill you right now. But I think that's a waste. Another vessel like you may never be born again."

He held up one finger."So: you have two options. Die now… or eat all twenty fingers, then die."

I clenched my fists."…Tell me something. Are you the strongest sorcerer?"

"Yes," he said instantly, without even blinking. "Why?"

I met his gaze."Then teach me. I don't want to just exist as Sukuna's vessel.Make me stronger than Sukuna himself. Then even if I absorb all his fingers, I can control him.No one else has to suffer. I'll take responsibility."

Gojo blinked. Then chuckled."Heh. A third option. I like it. Fine—" he stood, hands in his pockets "—I'll make you stronger than Sukuna. And if you reach that point… you can deal with the higher-ups yourself."

A grin tugged at my lips."Deal, sensei."

Goodbyes

Gojo untied me and led me out of the binding room.

"Come on," he said. "There's something you should do before we leave."

He brought me to the hospital.Sasaki-senpai was sitting up, bandaged. Iguchi-senpai sat beside her, his arm in a sling.

They looked at me like they'd seen a ghost.

"I'm sorry," I said quietly, And left.

Then Gojo took me to the morgue.Cold, quiet.

I stood in front of the small urn that held my grandfather's ashes.

"…I'll make sure your words meant something," I whispered.

Gojo watched me quietly, for once saying nothing.

After a moment, I straightened and turned to him."Give me another finger."

He raised an eyebrow."Already? Most people ask for water first."

"Power first," I said.

Gojo grinned and pulled one out from a sealed box.The air went heavy immediately.

It was disgusting. But I forced myself to see it as nothing more than a power source.

And I swallowed it.

Unparalleled power surged through me again.

Sukuna's laughter echoed in my skull——then I crushed it down.

But suddenly, my eyes began to bleed.

My irises flared a malevolent red, my sclera darkening to deep black — like the Jōgan, but crimson.

A shockwave erupted from my eyes, rippling through the air around me.

My vision warped.

I could see through matter, down to the molecular level… even faint traces of space itself—though something beyond it remained hidden.

And then I saw him.

Gojo.

A magnificent sphere of cursed energy surrounded him, contained within an invisible barrier — Infinity.

I focused deeper, observing streams of cursed energy flowing inside him.

My eyes copied his manipulation subconsciously—not fully, but enough.

My cursed energy control skyrocketed.

It felt similar to when Sukuna fought Gojo…except this time, I was in control.

I closed my eyes.Stopped the flow.

When I opened them again, they were jet black instead of brown.

Manipulating cursed energy felt… natural.

Like walking. Like breathing.

"Interesting," Gojo said, a faint grin tugging at his lips."So this is your innate technique."

The next day at Jujutsu Tech, Looking at the gigantic school that resembled a sanctuary in the middle of the mountains, Itadori couldn't help but marvel.

Seeing it on an anime screen could never compare to seeing the place in person.

Being there, seeing the real Jujutsu school in front of him, made him understand that it was indeed real.

But it was still a surreal sight to his eyes

"0h, I forgot to tell you, but you'll have an interview with the school's principal,' Gojo, who was walking beside him, suddenly said, catching Yuji's attention. "And if you fail, you won't be able to transfer, so do your best."

Raising his thumb to encourage him, Gojo flashed a small smile as he continued on the path.

"I think this shouldn't be information left for the last minute!"

Seeing the sorcerer smile, Itadori couldn't help but think about him.

Gojo was... strange, to say the least. Itadori didn't know him well enough to describe him accurately, but he could say that the man was certainly a good person. Of course, he knew his personality from the anime, but watching someone and knowing them in person were completely different things.

Of course, he knew his personality from the anime, but watching someone and knowing them in person were completely different things.it was a pity to know what his fate should be in that world.

"Aside from your strength, you're pathetic!"

Itadori, surprised when a new voice suddenly emerged, felt something strange on his cheek, his fingers moving to find a slit resembling a mouth.

And he immediately realized who had interrupted the conversation.

"Hey, you weirdo! Get out of my face!"

Hitting the mouth with a slap, it seemed to disappear.

Sukuna was still a mystery to Itadori. The most powerful curse had not yet tried of interaction.

to contact him, and this was the first time he had any form

He feared that Sukuna had access to his thoughts and memories, but if that were

the case, Itadori believed he would at least make some comment about it.

But for now, it was as if the two, despite Sukuna being imprisoned in his body, were separated in different rooms.

"Sorry about that, it's the first time he's manifested like this."

Feeling his hand tingle and a strange sensation course through his body, he concluded that it could only be a small amount of cursed energy flowing through him.

And seeing how Sukuna's mouth seemed to form on his hand, he should be right

"If you-"

But as Sukuna seemed to want to say something, Itadori just slapped his mouth again, making him disappear

Even being unable to manifest outside, it seemed that Itadori could still contain him without many problems.

Perhaps in the future, he could use cursed energy from his own body to prevent any form of manifestation, but until then, slaps should suffice.

"You seem to be handling Sukuna well, Gojo commented while looking at Itadori with interest

Scratching his chin, Yuji sighed in dismay. "Well, he didn't make much difference until a few minutes ago. Maybe the biggest nuisance is that because of him, I'm now destined to be executed...By the way, was this guy really strong?" Gojo nodded. "The double-faced specter is a fierce god imagined to have four arms and two heads, but in fact, he was a human who lived about a thousand

years ago.

When sorcery was at its peak, shamans gave their all to defeat him but failed. He made a name for himself and eventually died. But even after death, the shamans were unable to eradicate his body, covered in cadaveric wax, which came to our world in the form of cursed objects. He is strong, and undoubtedly, the king of curses."

Finally reaching the school premises, the two continued to the entrance.

"At his peak, would you be able to win?"

While Itadori knew the outcome, he wanted to hear Gojo's opinion.

"It would be a little complicated, but I would win." Saying those words confidently, Gojo opened the door for Itadori to pass through.

"Late again, Satoru! Eight minutes later!"

Sitting on the floor, the principal of the Jujutsu school seemed focused on sewing a strange doll, numerous odd stuffed animals around him.

'Damn, this is even more ridiculous in person.'

"It's a habit I can't criticize, but I can ask you to correct."

"If you can't, then don't criticize." Sighing, Gojo motioned for Itadori to continue "In the end, you spent this time making dolls."

Finally finishing sewing the doll in his hands, Yaga raised it to look at it more closely. "And the boy?'

Perceiving this as a cue to introduce himself, Itadori stepped forward and bowed almost automatically, a greeting ingrained in his body, even though Itadori in his

former life wasn't Japanese

"My name is Yuji Itadori, I'll be in your care."

Principal Yaga wasn't impressed and he leaned back in his chair, fingers steepled."So," he said, his tone calm but sharp, "why do you want to become a Jujutsu sorcerer?"

I took a deep breath."I could say it's because I have a hero compels. That'd be the easy answer. Or… I could tell you the truth. My parents Died when i was a kid. My grandfather raised me and sadly— he died two days ago.

"Since I was a kid, I never asked for anything. I was good at everything… sports, studying. Things others took years to learn, I picked up in minutes.

"I didn't save people because I wanted to be a hero. I just had the power to do it, so… why not? Even if someone warned me about the consequences, I still would have eaten that finger. It's a what i do over again because that's how i am, I won't back down just because the road Ahed is tough and hard.

"And if i somehow survive this and die at old age then I would've lived a good life that's my goal to die old surrounded by people i care about, and Even if I die in the process… I won't regret it. Because it was my choice."

Yaga's eyes narrowed slightly, but a faint smile appeared."Bold words," he said. "I like that. Satoru," he gestured, "show him to his dorm. And explain the security seals."

He paused and looked back at me."Welcome to Jujutsu Tech. Don't embarrass yourself—or me."

I nodded.
