Chapter 17 - * Vishious Hungers For Payne

Vishious walked alone down the dimly lit corridor. This part of his Palace, he allowed no one to enter into; except his Men he appointed when he left.

He finally came to stand Infront of two beautiful black Onyx doors, that had unique carvings on it of a giant raven that was surrounded by shadows and old runic patterns and designs.

The doors opened on their own, as if knowing who came to stand before them, slowly closing as soon as Vishious entered through them.

The room was massive, with black Crystal flooring and the walls and ceiling black Marble. There were torches that hung on the walls that held a bewitching blue-green flame. Vishious walked down the middle of the massive room before coming to stand In front of a massive aquarium that was breathtaking to see, with water that was blue and crystal clear. With black sand that sparkled like it held crushed diamonds, there were also beautiful multi-neon colored reefs and other various sea-life that was exotic, inside the massive aquarium.

A giant clam that was opened, not too far away from the glass for one to see clearly what it held inside it; Laying on a bed made of the finest pearls; slept a Mermaid.

Vishious stood there and stared at the mermaid for a little bit, just watching her sleep. She looked so peaceful, he noticed as he looked at her through the glass.

Her facial expression seemed to give off the impression that she felt like she was content and comfortable where she lay. She had neon-green hair with deep dark blue streaks in it. Her tail was one that held the colors of the Labordorite stone; that showed a beautiful display of colors when she moved. Her lips and eyelids had a light pastel green glitter to them and her eyes were a gorgeous shade of Emerald. Her upper part was only covered with blue-green clam shells and her skin seemed to sparkle in the light.

Vishious found himself relaxed as he watched her sleep, he didn't want to disturb her but he had been gone and before he had left had made her fall into a deep sleep; until he would return back.

He was the only one who would take care of her. He wouldn't allow anyone else to spend time with her and marvel at her beauty, it was only for him.

He snapped his fingers and then tapped on the glass three times, he than waited while slowly the mermaid started to stir from her sleep.

When she was fully awake, she sat up and looked around her, she noticed Vishious standing on the other side of the glass almost immediately. He just stared at her with his hands in his black trouser pockets, his expression holding nothing of what he was thinking as he watched her.

She didn't know why but seeing him standing there looking at her made her heart race and she felt bewitched under his gaze.

Not knowing what she should do, she just sat there staring at him before she saw him motion for her to go to him. She swam to the front of the aquarium and stopped right in front of where Vishious stood on the other side of the glass.

She was looking at him with a look of curiosity and shyness. She placed her hand on the glass in front of her and she was surprised to see Vishious lift up his hand and place it on the glass right where hers was.

This made her eyes light up but she quickly caught herself and dropped her hand and schooled her expression, not wanting to make it appear as if she enjoyed this man's presence.

This action of hers amused Vishious, it was the first time she had tried to interact with him through the glass.

It had been a few months now, since he had kidnapped and brought her to his Palace

At first, all he had intended was to use her to get Sinyster and her Merwitch black magic that she possessed to work for him. He knew that Sinyster was too weak and pathetic to know how powerful the magic she possessed really was and was clueless of what she was actually capable of doing.

He knew that he could have easily forced Sinyster into working for him, for she was in his opinion unworthy to be able to call him her sibling or should even be allowed to be in his presence. She didn't deserve to ever be thought of as a Demonness and he couldn't believe that the Ruler of the Living Realm had actually created such a disgraceful Demonness. Sinyster was too kind and soft to ever be able to stand up against any real demon, especially when it came to her brothers. But, to get Sinyster to use her powers the way he wanted her to, he knew that he had to find out something that could be used to deeply hurt her heart and soul. He had to find out what it was that she held closest to her heart.

He knew that it was Only that kind of hurt and pain to be inflicted upon her that was needed to draw out the MerWitch;Sinyster. And it'd be only then that he would be able to get access to her dark magic that he needed from her, it was only a certain, specific ability that she only possessed in her MerWitch state.

He never took any interest in wanting to know anything when it concerns her and nothing ever would, even if he did want something from her. So He had ordered a few of his lower Night Creatures to go out and watch over Sinyster to observe things from afar, silently watching and waiting to find something out to be able to return to Sprague and inform their Lord of what it was that they had come to find out. He was pleased to find out that Sinyster's weakness was an actual person that he would be able to take and use to get whatever he wanted from Sinyster so easily because no one wanted to see someone they loved be tortured and treated cruelly and he wouldn't mind doing those kind of things if given the chance to be able to do so.

His patience finally paid off and when he had finally found out what and who it was that Sinyster cherished most, Vishious wasted no time in taking it from her. Something that didn't take him long in carrying out before he was able to successfully kidnap the young mermaid that was his ticket to use to hurt Sinyster and get her to do what it was that he had been needing from her.

He had given little regard for the mermaid he had captured, providing only the necessary provisions for her survival. Nothing more was needed for the kidnapped guest that he had.

It wasn't Until one day when he found himself to be bored and had decided that he would just go and give his young guest a little visit. Thinking that maybe even having a little fun and sending Sinyster a scale or two, just to make sure that Sinyster comprehended the severity that the situation was when it came to anything that had to deal with him. Being patient with people wasn't something that he was known for, especially someone who was so beneath him like Sinyster was.

He remembered walking into the room that day and noticing it had been quiet, the water in the aquarium seemed extremely calm and so he proceeded to walk right up to the front of the tank, not in the mood for this visit to take long and didn't want to spend much time having to look for the young mermaid. He stood there scanning the waters to locate where she was and that's when he noticed her.

She had been swimming in a way that looked as if she was dancing. She had her eyes closed and so didn't notice she had gained an audience. The way she twirled and flipped around made the light that was hitting her, sparkle and shimmer off of her.

Vishious was unable to look away from her and was mesmerized as he had never seen anything that he thought was so beautiful before in all the centuries that he had existed.

He wasn't sure how long exactly that he stood there staring at the young mermaid dancing to the music only she could hear as she danced in the waters, when she finally opened her eyes to see him standing there watching her. She froze instantly when her eyes met his black ones, quickly she swam away from him to try and hide somewhere out of his view. He stood there a brief moment longer before he turned to walk out, forgetting what he had originally gone there for and not wanting to just stand there waiting for the mermaid to come back out.

But since that time, His visits to her became more and more frequent and each encounter marked by his efforts to create a more opulent aquarium environment that he believed better suited her. Interestingly, he quickly even granted her permission to venture beyond the confines of her aquarium. To be able to come out and walk around and even eat her meals in the room that she was kept in.

It bothered him how she wouldn't come out with him in the room and would hide most of the time when he would walk in the room. But, he didn't mind being a little patient with her and so he would leave, to allow her to have time outside of the water and do whatever she felt like doing but still not being able to leave the massive room. And without her knowing it Vishious had made a wall that allowed him to be able to watch her without her ever knowing that he was so close.

It took her a little time to dry off where her tail would turn into a pair of beautiful legs that had a sheer colored blue-green skirt that flowed around them and drug behind her as she walked.

As he stood there thinking about then till now he couldn't deny that he had missed seeing her when he was away, even though he was only gone a little while and she had not even noticed his absence since he had made her go into a deep sleep, being away from her like this had made him long to see her again. To be able to admire her beauty; that to him was unmatched by any that belonged to either of the Realms.

Vishious couldn't help but smile at how she seemed to pout, she looked so adorable and so sexy to him how she did it. After a moment he tapped on the glass a couple of times to get her attention. Payne took her time to obey his commands, by very slowly turning to finally look at him standing there on the other side of the glass. She noticed how he had backed away from the glass which made her have to swim closer to see why he was backing away.

She wouldn't admit it to him or to anyone else but she found that she actually looked forward to his visits. She didn't know why but Everything about him she found attractive and the excitement and anticipation she felt whenever the time started getting close to when he would usually come around was something she had never before felt. And the feeling that would wash over her every time he would leave, always seemed to make her heart feel depleted and heavy. Lord Vishious was after all the first man that Payne had ever come across, she had been around Mermen of course but never had any kind of contact with any other kind of men.

She cursed herself for possibly making herself look to be stupid in his presence, the last thing she wanted was for him to think of her badly or as a disappointment in his eyes when he would look at her.

But, on the other hand, Payne didn't want anything to do with him and hated him for kidnapping her and forcing her to live in this new place that he had set up for her. Taking her away from her home and the people that she knew. And taking her away from Sinyster. The person who was her mother, as well as her best friend. And what made it even harder for Payne was that she had no clue as to why she had been taken or what was going to happen to her and if Sinyster and the others were ok.

When she got closer to the glass, Vishious moved his body to stand sideways so she would look behind him. Payne noticed a little table and a couple chairs had appeared behind Lord Vishious, a plate was on the table with a glass and silverware laid out for her.

Vishious then brought her attention back to him when he bowed his head lightly at her before he turned and just walked away and out of the room. This made her feel sad like she always did every time he would leave the room, but shaking her head to stop dwelling on it, she was happy that she would be able to eat something soon. She was starving and so she didn't wait around to see if he would come back or not, he never did and so she started to swim up towards the surface of the water. She couldn't help but be curious about Lord Vishious, she had never heard him speak before and she only knew to call him Lord Vishious because the ones who had kidnapped her had told her as much.

Power rolls off him in waves. Even without talking to him or being without the glass separating them. She could feel his power pressing against her and she instinctively knew that he wasn't someone to make angry.

Emerging from the depths of the tank, she gracefully ascended towards the shimmering surface, her lithe body slicing through the water with utmost precision. With each powerful stroke, she propelled herself closer towards the set of meticulously crafted stone stairs that gracefully lead her out of the aquatic realm.

Once she reached the surface, droplets of water cascaded down her iridescent scales, as she meticulously positioned herself upon the cool stone steps. Patiently, allowing her dampened skin to dry, until the last remnants of moisture evaporated, leaving her glistening tail prepared for transformation.

With deliberate motions, she gradually eased herself up, surrendering to the force of gravity. As her sinuous form transitioned from a graceful swim to an elegant walk, her once fishtail yielded to the growth of slender, agile legs.

Descending the spiral staircase, ingeniously embedded along the periphery of the tank, she marveled at the intricate craftsmanship that melded seamlessly with the tranquil beauty of her watery domain. Step by step, she descended, until she reached the floor.

She walked towards the table when she noticed a beautiful bouquet of flowers was placed next to her plate that was now full of various fruits wrapped in seaweed and oysters, topped with a few different kinds of nuts.

She had never had the chance to see any flowers except for the ones that Sinyster would bring her back whenever she had to leave to take care of business and go do whatever else it was that was needed for her to go do. Payne picked up the bouquet and brought them up to her nose to smell the beautiful flowers. Her heart clenched in her chest; she missed Sinyster so much and wanted to go home. She had never been away from her home before and she couldn't help but wonder if she would ever see her home or the people she knew again. She didn't know what was going to happen to her or what the reason was for her to be kidnapped and brought here in the first place but she believed Sinyster would rescue her and that's the hope she held onto.

She sat the flowers back down on the table, before she sat down in one of the chairs that was placed there. She was starving and so couldn't wait to start eating her food that looked and smelled absolutely delicious in front of her.

She was so zoned in on her food that she didn't even realize that someone had entered the room and was walking quietly towards where she was sitting.

Unaware of the person's presence, she failed to acknowledge the approach from behind. Consuming everything on her plate, she reached for the glass that was next to her plate to help wash down her food, and when she raised it up to her face that's when she noticed something in the reflection of her glass she perceived the figure lurking silently behind her.

She dropped the glass and screamed as she tried to jump up from her chair and run away from whoever it was behind her, suddenly desperate to get back inside the aquarium; to only have two strong muscular arms wrap around her waist and press her firmly against a solid body.

She fought to get away, scared that whoever had a hold of her was going to harm her, her eyes started to sting and she pleaded, "Please let me go, Please!" A small sob escaping her lips at the end.

"If you stop struggling and relax I'll let you go. I'm not going to hurt you, I promise." Came the gentle and smooth voice of the one who had a hold of her.

Payne was so scared that she could feel her heart pounding in her chest and found herself fighting the urge to cry. " I'm sorry that my entry into the room went unnoticed by you and so you got startled when you finally noticed that I was standing behind you." The person said close to her ear and for some reason it made her relax enough and slowly she felt the hold on her loosen so she could slowly turn to see who it was.

She slowly turned and raised her eyes to look at the face of the man who she had become familiar with who stood on the other side of the glass all this time.

Her heart skipped a beat and she could feel her face heat up, while she just stood there staring up at him, unable to move or even think at that very moment. Still in the arms of the man, His hold on her tightened a little bringing their bodies even closer together. He stared down at her and loved how magnificent her eyes looked this close up, looking at him. He enjoyed the sight of her blush that invaded her cheeks.

"Please forgive me for scaring you?" Vishious asked her in a tender, soft tone, while continuing to look into her beautiful eyes that had him mesmerized. This is what he had found himself longing for, to just be able to hold her, without the glass separating them. He didn't want to get to the point where he would've had to force their proper introduction but he wasn't patient and he couldn't handle waiting any longer to have her near him and get to hear her voice. If he didn't get anything more, he was grateful he got this moment with her.

"Are you still hungry? I was going to ask you if you'd like some company while you ate." Vishious could still hear her heart racing in her chest and wanted her to relax while in his presence, worried she'd pass out if she didn't. " I'm not going to hurt you." Vishious kept trying to convince her, as he still hadn't release her from his hold.

"Y-yes please." She said. Her voice was barely a whisper for him to hear, but he could hear that her heartbeat was starting to becoming more steady now.

"You're still hungry?" He asked, wanting to make sure that's what she wanted.

She nodded her head at his question before she spoke, " May I ask you something?"

"You can ask me anything you want." Vishious said to her. He loved hearing her voice and wanted her to keep talking to him.

"They call you Lord Vishious, correct?" Payne asked him shyly.

"You can address me as Vishious." He replied back to her. He kept his voice very soft so she'd relax more. He then asked her, "May I now hear what your name is?"

"Payne" She answered. She shyly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and gave Vishious a light smile. Noticing how he still had his arms around her waist and how close he was holding her to him, she couldn't help the blush she felt come to her face.

She found him to be the most beautiful man she had ever seen and as much as she knew she shouldn't allow him to get close to her, she couldn't help but be drawn to him.

"You have a beautiful name and you don't know how much I've longed to be near you like this and be able to hear your voice." Vishious said to her, unable to hold back his thoughts.

He didn't know that he could ever feel the way she made him feel when he saw her, and he knew that no matter what he would never let her leave him. She was his and forever would be.

"May I join you for dinner?" Vishious asked her politely, slowly letting go of her waist and bringing his hand up to hers, for her to take.

"Yes" Payne answered shyly, placing her hand in his to hold.

"Let us go to the dinning hall then to enjoy our dinner together, shall we." Vishious said to her as they walked together to exit the room.
