Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

Lore sat at a fire, cooking some rabbit above the flame. He had successfully slain the ghoul, and other undead monsters. He felt ragged as he made camp for the night. Most of his day was spent searching up and down the forest, with no real progress at all. Even the monsters he defeated earlier didn't leave any trail to where they marched from.

The fat of the rabbit started popping and sizzling, the savory aroma filling the air near Lore's vicinity. Lore grabbed the roasting stick and began gobbling down his meal. The juices from the meat dripped down his chin, and each bite was sliding off the bone. Before long he had stripped the bones clean of all their meat, and only after the fire dimmed down did Lore ready himself for sleep. He found himself a large branch and got himself comfortable.

The sun rose, it had been a few days since Lore began exploring the forest. Everyday he fought with monsters and either found some light traces of tracks, or a small campsite the Daemons were using.

Lore got pretty accustomed to how the Daemons engaged in fights, and he found himself growing more and more adjusted to tracking those monsters. Refining his battle strategies, and his swordsmanship. When exploring and engaging in fights, Lore ended up using his shortsword more. He felt displeased with this, but his longswords would continuously get trapped in the bark of a tree. However, this really improved Lore's close quarter, and hand to hand combat. When engaging long range foes, Lore implemented his fire or lightning magic.Magic.

This went on, and on, until on about the twelfth day that Lore finally made some headway. Not really knowing how far into the forest he was, Lore stumbled across a fortress like structure. It was the size of a small village; Lore saw smoke raising into the sky from campfires. Lore sneakily climbed up a tree, using the highest branch to peer into the fort. After Lore counted the number of enemies, he decides he could handle eliminating all the monsters inside. The smell of blood, and putrid decay filled the air. Hiding himself among the boughs of the trees, Lore scoured the entire fort and found himself up against around fifty or sixty enemies, not to mention whatever lay inside. Lore took the time to accumulate magic in preparation of a multi-chain Spark. As the magic welled inside of Lore he aimed for a larger group of around seven varied monsters. His target was the largest in the group, and as he fired just as you'd think, the bolts shot from his hand like a arrow from heaven. Piercing the heart of the minotaur like creature, and spreading in order to shock the other creatures, the bolt ravaged and roared as the minotaur like creature crumpled to the floor. Electricity arched around the other monsters as they writhed in pain, squaling agonizingly. Before his location was discovered he had already maneuvered to another tree. From this vantage point, Lore prepared Flame Arrows that pierced the heads of their intended target. Riddled with arrows, the monsters thrashed and screamed before their

bodies erupted in flames. Lore leapt over the wall of the fort and blades being removed from their sheaths resounded out. The monsters, obviously alerted to Lore's attack began encircling him. Lore felt little in the way of fear, and so, his scarf covered the gleam of a bright smile. The rush of a battle surged through him.

Combining his two longswords into one, Lore swing his sword with a fervor that nearly scared the monsters. His blade slashed and ripped apart the monsters flesh, and blood splattered all over him. His armor was withstanding the attacks of all the monsters. While attacks landed on him they weren't able to penetrate his armor. Lore reinforced himself, and lit his blade ablaze. His body crackled with arcs of lighting has the heavy blade split and mangled the flesh of different monsters. Three Lycanthropes were giving Lore a hard time as he couldn't do any lasting damage, and his strength kept them at bay. A Lycanthrope bit down on Lore's shoulder as Lore was distracted by one of the others. He brought his arms up and started pounding on the Lycanthropes back. Lore broke free of the Lycanthropes maw, and swung his sword across the neck of the monster. The blade slowed down like it in water due to the thick muscular neck of the Lycanthrope. Lore shifted his hips and put double the force into his swing and completely decapitated this monster.
