Dave's wicked grin echoed through the darkness.

Theo felt his chest tighten as he turned to Karina, confusion clouding his eyes.
Theo: Karina… why is it that when I saw those two couples, I felt something strange? As if… as if I've seen them before.

Dave laughed, the sound low and poisonous.
Dave: There's no angel who wasn't once a baby, Theo. So accept it—the couple you helped earlier?
They abandoned you.
Theo froze.
Theo: C–Couple…?
Dave's voice slithered into his mind like venom.
Dave: Remember that strange feeling? That's why. Because they let you die.
Theo shook his head violently, feathers trembling, eyes watering.

Dave shrugged as if it wasn't his favorite hobby.

Theo's wings snapped open in shock.

Dave's tone turned cold, deadly.
Dave: If you refuse… Karina will be the first soul I erase from this world.
I'll give you one hour to decide. I know it's not easy for an angel like you…
