Chapter 15 - Episode 15: Shattered Heart

"Goodbye, I love you."

Karina's knees weakened as the memory echoed in her mind, her voice cracking with anger and heartbreak.

Karina: I didn't know you were that close to me… I wish I had met you sooner. You're so weak… you gave up right away like that!!

(her tears fell endlessly)

Everything inside her felt empty—like someone pulled out a piece of her soul.

Karina's life started to change now…

KARINA'S HOUSE

Winter barged into Karina's dim room, worry written all over her face.

Winter: Hey—how many days have you been lying there? Are you even eating? What's happening to you?

Karina didn't respond.

Not a word.

She just stared blankly at the wall.

Winter's voice grew sharper with frustration.

Winter: Heck! Answer me! Why are you acting like that?!

Karina slowly sat up, turning her swollen eyes to Winter.

Karina: Do you want to know? He's gone. He's gone, Winter! He's so weak… I forgot him for just a moment—and he left me. What kind of person does that?

Her voice cracked again, full of pain she couldn't hide.

Karina: Wait… I saw a portal earlier. On the rooftop of the hospital. Theo went in there. But when I went up—it was gone. Theo… what is your true identity?

Winter froze.

Winter: Karina… wait. Did you say a portal? And… Theo?

Karina: Yes… Why?

Winter hesitated, then sighed.

Winter: I heard from our teacher at KSH… that there was once an angel student there. His name was Theo.

The teachers still don't believe it, but… someone said the incident was connected to the mental hospital.

That was today.

Karina's breath stopped.

Karina: …Winter?

Winter: Yes?

Karina: Leave me first. I just… want to think.

Winter nodded softly.

Winter: Okay. But call me if you need anything.

Winter left, closing the door quietly.

Karina clutched her chest, tears forming again as she whispered into the silence.

Karina: Is it true… that you're an angel, Theo?

But why did you hide it from me… until you left?

Her voice trembled.

Her heart broke a second time.
