When they showed up at the destination, multiple guards were patrolling this place. That is to be expected since the gate was there. Flame and the others had to show them a quest commission so they could let you in. But had to be escorted by a guard to know where the gate could be.
They get out Chip as they follow the guard into the forest. There are no paths inside the forest, so it is easy to get lost. The guard stops then turns around towards us. "This is the furthest I can go." The guard said. Over the area, there are a bunch of monsters. Orcs, Goblins, and any other common monsters that need to be eliminated. They are to prevent overflow and reduce the damage they can cause. "If you go straight from here, you can find a gate there."
"Thank you so much, we'll take it from here!" Shannon said with a smile that made the guard blush."
"N-No problem. If you need anything, let me know!" The guard tries to act cool as he holds his hat. "Also, if you're free I-"
Liana interrupted as she was feeling frustrated, "Yeah yeah, why don't you scram?. We don't need you here." She kicked the guard to make him go away.
"Ouch, ouch, if you're free, let me know!!" The guard then disappears.
"Sheesh men," Liana scoffs, then she pulls up her umbrella.
Kashi, who still has his google on his forehead, is very curious about Liana's umbrella. "Hey, I'm just curious but, what's up with your umbrella, is it only a fashion? Or protect you from sunlight? There's no rain, and it's cloudy outside."
"Hmm, you mean this?" She looks at the umbrella. "It's my weapon. I hit them with it. What's wrong with it?" She replied.
He was baffled but decided to stay silent about it, knowing how Liana would react to it.
Flame, on the other hand, felt something ominous about this place ever since they got here. But he decided to brush it off since it probably came from a gate, sending weird energy to the surroundings.
"Ok, we split up." Liana suggests, acting like she's a leader, "Shannon and I will take care of monsters in the east. Since you guys are weak, try not to die. Let's go, Shannon." She flips her hair as she walks away.
"Are you sure?" Shannon asked as she followed Liana.
"I need to graduate. I don't have time to talk to these men." She walks off and disappears into the forest.
Kashi feels exhausted from just hearing her words. "Flame, you know-"
"I know," Flame signs back as he interrupts. "We don't need her if she doesn't even need us. It's a rule. Let's go, we don't need to waste time before it gets dark."
"Right," Kashi signs awkwardly, knowing Flame wants money.
After walking into the forest, the odd feelings from the gate are getting stronger. The first monster you see is Orc. They're not really intelligent, but they're smart enough to use a cub as a weapon. About five orcs are working together, they might be carrying food which is from boars.
They're hiding in the bush, waiting for the perfect moment to attack. Kashi stays behind. Of course, he doesn't want to get his backpack ruined. With Flame speed, he can slice one orcs' nape with his chain dagger. With a newly formed dagger, he's able to slice it very easily. The orc cries in pain while the other four orcs get their attention. Flame readjusts his knife as it begins to stab his back, dealing a fatal blow on one orc.
As the orc begins to fall, Flame locks on the next nearest orcs. The orc begins to swing towards Flame. Their attack is slow and simple but they're deadly to the average human. Within Flame speed, this will be no problem dealing with a group of Orcs. He dodges an orc attack with a cub; he slices off the arm as he follows up to decapitate their head.
Three orcs begin to swing on Flame. In that situation, there's no escape from so he had to use his ability, Fire. As his flame begins to emerge onto his weapon as he blocks all three attacks from an orc with his chain. He started to heat the chain, making it too hot to touch.
Since the orc's weapon is wooden, all of their weapons start on fire. They have no choice but to let go of their only weapon. Flame then finishes the blow by slicing their head at the same time by swinging the chain. He caught his dagger scanning any more enemies nearby.
Kashi emerges from the bush as he congratulates flame, "You're really good, at this rate we can handle ourselves."
"You should've helped me. You can fight, you know." Flame rolled his eyes as he crossed his arm, waiting for his chain to cool down.
"Ahh yeah, I can only punch them" Kashi smiles, but he feels Flame's glare. Quickly he tries to change the subject as he spotted several monsters, "Oh there're more monsters over there, let's go!"
After killing goblins, which are even easier to fight than orcs, he could feel the gate getting closer. As they spotted a gate, monsters such as Goblin and Orcs came out of thin air, which was to be assumed as a gate. You can see a warp invisible space that simmers inside the air.
Sign Language is more Ideal now since monsters can't hear us speaking. If Flame and Kashi were to talk, they'd be surrounded by many monsters. "We found a gate" Flame signs, as he scans any more area. Kashi nods as if he's ready. "Oh, are you going to join this time?"
Kashi wears brown gloves, and he grabs multiple rocks from the ground as he begins to expand to make it look like a rocky spear. Flame was shocked, as he had seen nothing like that before. "I can make any weapon that is only made out of Earth and metal, but the only downside is durability. I can't last long if it breaks so easily."
"Alright then, let's go!" Flame and Kashi are about to attack the monsters, but then the monster quickly flees in the opposite direction.
"Haha, they have been scared of me since I joined the fight. You guys better run!" Kashi never felt more proud.
"You do know we have to reduce their number not to make them run away." Flame sighs. However, Flame felt the same sensation as he does when they arrived in the forest. But this time it is strong and sinister as if they're out for blood. Flame can only turn around and see an Orc with a black Aura emerging from their body. The orc carrying a sword filled with black magic.
Kashi finally spoke as he shuttered "W-what is that? How is he too strong? Sword? What???" Many questions filled his head.
"I am not a failure. If I can take one or two people, they'll recognize me. I am not a failure. Not a failure." Those words keep repeating as if that's their only word.
"That orc can talk!" Kashi sat down as he felt pressure from that energy.
Flame only can know that if he makes a mistake. Death awaits him.
