With a thud, Li Hao froze, and his phone fell to the ground.
Everyone's faces turned pale.
A girl said, "Let's go save him!"
Everyone ran towards the apartment door, but as they ran, someone sensed something was wrong. Turning back, they saw Li Hao pulling some rich kids in the opposite direction.
"Wait, where are you going?" the girl asked.
"I'm going to call the police," said Li Hao, disappearing onto the street without looking back.
The remaining four stopped in their tracks.
They no longer dared to bring up the idea of rescue.
"Call the PCE Security Management Committee!"
A girl, trembling, dialed the phone: "Hello, is this PCE? We have rats here that bit someone to death!"
Laughter came from the other end: "Damn, don't call in the middle of the night, you hear? And rats killing people? Filing a false report will get you jailed... A couple of K bars!"
With that, the call was hung up.
The four grew even more desperate.
