Razaloth readied his body against the hard, cold door, before he flung the door open as Razaloth breached the room.
Inside was dark, with only the light from the hall that illuminated a small area inside the room.
At his feet blood could be seen. Following the flow of the blood trail he saw on the polished metal floor the dark elders scales, his body lying there and in the middle of his forehead a hole had appeared, the scales cracked and broken around it.
The cracks splintered down to the base of the scales.
The golden eyes of the elder staring into Razaloth's, glazed and lifeless, the eyes not moving.
Above the elders body stood a man drenched in black, his whole body covered apart from his face, a light shot from his gauntlet.
"Who are you?" Razaloth yelled at the dark figure, the light shone one his face as the figure looked at Razaloth.
"You" screamed Razaloth as he saw the gloating eyes and sadistic smile he could not forget, the one he had seen slaughter his people, who had hunted them for sport, the reason he could never sleep was standing in front of him.
The smile still on the black figures face.
"You killed my father"
"Did I?" asked the figure, the grunts he made sounding forced and wrong, a language that should not be spoken by a human throat.
The figure placed his finger on his lips, his mask smoothy sealing up now covering his face.
Confused, Razaloth moved forward, ready to kill the man before him, when suddenly the wall in front of him exploded,
The light blinding, the heat scorching, stunned Razaloth and made him stumble backwards.
"Where is he?" Razaloth screamed in horror as he finally opened his eyes again.
Only to discover the elder's dead body on the ground and no one else around.
...
Running along the halls were two figures dressed in black as they glided along the halls rushing towards the shipyard.
"What was that" asked Mongrel as he lunged down the hall to his left.
"What?" asked Seth as he followed, his voice calm and relaxed as he followed the diving Mongrel around corners.
"The grunts" wheezed Mongrel between lunges
"I was mocking him"
"NO ..... they ... understood it" Mongrel wheezed as his shoulder hit a wall before he continued running stumbling as he went.
"They knew what you said" he finished as he got his footing again.
"You think I can speak the grunts they talk in" replied Seth, thankful for the visor, he was unsure if he would be able to lie to his friend so easily if he was looking into his eyes.
He continued to run down the halls, his heart heavier then Mongrels footsteps.
The halls shrunk and shrunk from the grandiose, ostentatious halls to the normal military halls. Turning the corner guards welcomed the duo.
"Fire" grunted the guards as blasts from the spears began shooting at Seth and Mongrel. The bolts whizzed past Seth, the temperature scorching as the red bolt smashed into the wall bumbling and frothing liquid metal splattered as the bolt collided with the wall.
The molten wall left dripping and blacked from the attacks.
Seth steadied his cannon of a weapon "duck" he yelled as he continued to run. Suddenly the end of the weapon exploded with fire, the force from the end of the gun halting Seth mid air before he landed and started running again.
As he began to move again he pulled out his blade, and drawing a clean line in the air with the end of the saber he dispatched the remaining two Druin.
"Fuck, a little more warning before you set hat fucking thing off" cried Mongrel as he clamed from his crouching position back to his feet.
Chasing behind Seth his feet slammed against the hard floor below him, the three druin bodies made him stumble as his feet slipped on the warm blood flowing from the bodies. He slammed his foot down, hoping to steady his body better. When he did his foot landed on a soft body before he managed to get his footing before a crack was heard below his foot.
Seth looked on in horror as his friend was tripping on the fresh bodies he had dispatched, his small legs unable to leap over them as he had easily done.
"Not far enough" Seth mumbled to himself as he glanced at the space between his friend who was haggard, out of breath and the exit he was so keen to arrive at.
Without saying anything he slowed down, watching his destination in his eyes. He turned, closing his eyes and moved back towards his friend, the exit growing further away as he chose to help his friend.
He readied himself, sword in his hand, eyes scanning the Druins who were closing in on him and Mongrel.
"Fuck" Seth whispered as his perpetuity gland started running wild in his brain, producing copious amounts of adrenaline, his heart beating like a drum sounded from outside his chest, his whole body pulsed along with each beat.
"Fuck you all" he thought as he hip and shouldered a incoming Druin into a nearby ship.
Flinging himself he lunged into the crowd of Druin before him. His body moving faster then a blur his actions brutal and efficient, a swing of his arm enough to break bones, his sword a death sentence in the crowd of Druin. His presence was death and pain as he mowed down all the incoming Druin.
The Druin came like dust surrounding Seth from all sides. The numbers did little to slow down Seth's assault as he made his way though the bodies of dead Druin.
"Seth we need to go" shouted Mongrel who had regained his footing and made his way to the side of the hanger in the chaos, his eyes stricken with shock and he looked at his friend he visage black, like shadows he moved death following the Druin who were lucky thrown into the ships close by.
"What have you become" whispered Mongrel as he looked at his friend, the Monster before him was no human.
A Druin flew in Mongrels direction, his body like a kite with a broken string his body slammed into the ship next to Mongrel, the blood pouring from his body. As Mongrel looked at this Druin their eyes met. The Druins filled with blood, astonished at what had occurred "Are you angry" Mongrel said more to himself then the Druin as he looked in his eyes "No, ya are demoralized, shattered" he said as his eyes looked at Seth. The monster had continued to kill in the time Mongrel was busy with his own thought, bodies had began to halt the following Druins advancements as piles of bodies lie in their way.
"I would be too" he mumbled to himself while shaking his head.
"SETH COME ON! We gotta go" screamed Mongrel as loud as he could.
