Chapter 42 - When Druin fly, human's Die.

Mongrel stared at Seth as he came running towards him, blood dripping off of his pure black suit.

The red almost swallowed the black whole. "Let's go!" Said Mongrel as he pushed down all the questions in his mind.

"I am coming" replied Seth over the intercom, which had previously laid silent as Mongrel had forgotten about it long ago.

...

Inside the cockpit, a spear was logged into the consul with an arm hanging loosely to it. The arm dead dangled as Mongrel moved the spear to ensure a solid connection.

"How long do you think we can fly for?" asked Seth as he ringed his hands, trying to rub the blood off of his gloves.

"If they get a warning off then we will be shot from space at that second. If not, I think we can fly for 10 minutes, enough to escape the fleet's perimeter" said Mongrel, fiddling with the spear and the dead fingers of the Druin.

With the aid of numerous pieces of human tech scattered and stuck about the consul and directly into the fungi, Mongrel had created an interface he could interact with directly.

His fingers and hands danced wildly across the console, slamming and pulling where he saw fit, through this dance-like movement the ship slowly came to life and began to hum.

Humming softly the ship glided the hum resonating through the whole ship cutting through the silence on the ship, both men sitting in silence not saying anything.

The ship flew out of the bay into the sea of druin ships littering the horizon.

"Fuck, there is so many of them"

"Far too many for us to kill" "What if we go up, avoid them from above?"

"What? And announce to all of them that we ain't druin, no we we fly like them until we are out" replied Mongrel as he spurred the ship onwards his attention locked onto his task.

The ship moved slowly through the ship infested space, each breath was labored as if breathing too loud would expose them. Inching along with the seconds ,the closer they drew to the open space the more likely they would be found out.

...

After the explosion occurred, the light and sound dissipated and Razaloth could see once again.

The cripled man behind him had found his courage and had rushed beyond Razaloth into the room. He held the elder in his arms "Get some help, the the elder he needs help" he screamed at no one in particular but hollered for anyone to help.

Razaloth sprinted to the hole in the wall, the edges jagged and rough as he scaled the rubble, the jagged edges digging into his hands as he looked behind the wall.

Druin scurried into the room, appearing out of nowhere and began filling the room and any empty space around the elder and the still hysterically screaming man.

"Do not let him escape" cried the crippled man holding the elder. Hiding his face he cried and rocked the elder.

Razaloth jumped from the rubble, his legs swung, ready to land when a hand grabbed his shoulder and yanked him back, his back hit the rubble, air shot from his lungs leaving him with not a single breath left.

The thud rang out from the floor. The next second when he had regained air his focus was sequestered by the Druin surrounding him from all angles, blocking his view.

"What are you doing?" Razaloth barked as he shifted his body trying to get up, when a leg landed on his chest forcing him back down.

"Is this him?" Said another Druin Gunner looking down on him, disgust written on his face.

"Help the elder, don't let him get away" repeated the man as he rocked back and forth, not looking up from the elder.

"Get off me, the human will get away" pleaded Razaloth as he forced the hands and feet from his body struggling to stand

"You heard him hold that gunner"

Razaloth struggled against the boot of the gunner above him, his broken body struggling to exert the force he knew it was capable of. The cracks on his body shifting, the cracked scales grinding on one another, making a shrieking sound.

Razaloth gritted his teeth and fought through the pain as he forced the foot of the gunner off of him and when he did he started to get to his feet when a set of hands came down, holding him down followed by another and another until he was covered by hands holding him down.

Strong as Razaloth was, he could not handle the amount of people that were holding him down, he could not out strength so many Druin even if they were regular druin or gunners.

"I am not the one who killed the elder" yelled Razaloth, trying to reason with the druin around him.

"Please, the human is getting away, you need to stop him, for the love of all elders, please" begged Razaloth, unable to move he started to break down. He needed to stop that human, that human was the one who killed his father.

"That human killed all the Druin on the planet, he killed them all without mercy, with a smile and now he has killed an elder, you cannot let him escape" Razaloth pleaded.

His pleas fell on deaf ears, the Druin around him ignored his pleas and waited for the crippled man's words.

He still held the elder, rocking back and not saying anything coherent.

Razaloth looked at the man who he had hurt, who he had taught a lesson before and how distraught he was as he held the man in his arms, not looking at any of the Druin that had appeared out of nowhere.
