Today, when we went to the Caldwell Family to announce the marriage, Shawn Morton showed up that evening. Tessa almost certainly believed it was Zion Caldwell's doing.
But, why did he bring Shawn Morton here?
To verify whether she and Faye were truly married?
Or to ruin her relationship with Faye and make them divorce?
Shawn Morton looked at Tessa and smiled, "How've you been lately, Tessa?"
Tessa crossed her arms over her chest, tilted her head, glanced at him, and then said slowly, "Come on, why did you bring your little rich girl here? What's the deal?"
At this, Shawn's face turned bitter, "I've been kicked out by my family; you have to take me in."
Tessa raised an eyebrow and said leisurely, "My house isn't a shelter, scram!"
"Oh, poor little rich girl," Shawn said with a pitiful expression, glancing at his little black dog on the ground, "The future mistress of your house doesn't want to take us in. What are we to do? It's so pathetic."
Tessa glared at him, "Scram! Who's its mistress! Say nonsense again, and I'll stuff its fleas into your mouth."
Shawn couldn't help but shiver, "Tessa, you're too cruel. I really was... kicked out by my dad. Just take me in for one night."
Tessa flatly refused, "Not taking you in!"
Shawn looked at Tessa with a face full of grievance and said somewhat bitterly, "Tessa, we grew up together like childhood sweethearts, and you're this heartless?"
Tessa squinted at him, "Go stay in a hotel, don't act pitiful, it won't work on me!"
Shawn pouted and then looked at Tessa mournfully, "Tessa, could it be that your brother was right? Have you really illegally moved in with someone else?"
Tessa's eyes widened, "Shawn Morton, are you crazy? Who's illegally moved in?"
"No?" A flash of joy clearly passed through Shawn's face, then he said happily, "I knew it was fake, Tessa, you would only move in with me."
Tessa gave him a lazy glance, "I'm married, we're cohabitating legally, not illegally."
Shawn first looked shocked, then his face filled with wounded pain, "Tessa, you..." Then he denied it angrily, "Impossible!"
Tessa couldn't be bothered with him and sat on the sofa playing on her phone.
"Ah! How can you do this! I've liked you for so many years, and you treat me like this! I can't live! Woe is me! My life has no meaning now!" Shawn pretended a world-shattering sorrow, standing up shakily on purpose.
"Don't want to live?" Tessa curled up a faint smile, "Then how do you want to die? For the sake of our friendship, I can help you prepare. Do you want a rope or poison?"
"You have such a cruel heart!" Shawn pointed at her, his finger shaking, "Is this how you treat your childhood friend? How can your heart be so vicious!"
Tessa said coldly, "That's just how I am. If you can't stand it, you can leave."
"You want me to leave, but I won't!" Shawn snorted, "I want to see who this great person is!"
Then he sidled up to Tessa and sat down, sticking close to her.
Tessa was really speechless at him, like a piece of gum that wouldn't come off, so she moved aside, but he immediately scooted over again, insisting on squeezing tightly against Tessa.
Just then, the door was opened from the outside, and Tessa looked up to see Faye standing at the door...…
