There were two ways for him to finally leave this place. The easy option would be to blow a massive hole through the massive walls via Destruction magic. But that would be a risky as he didn't know his exact location.

The bothersome way would be to walk around until he found an escape route and could leave peacefully. It was a longer route, but probably was the wiser one.

'Yeah... I could go the long way... But who cares about that?'

Ren raised his hand and pointed his index finger towards the pulsing wall. In his mind, he already knew what spell he wanted to use.

"Erosion"

A ball of murky darkness the size of a small marble formed on the tip of his finger. It floated towards the wall at an numbingly slow speed. Ren waited in silence as it brushed against the wall and was absorbed into it, having seemingly no effect.

"That's it?" Ren muttered in confusion at the lack of a reaction from the wall. "What!"

As if to answer his question, a slight shuddering turned Ren's attention back to the wall. A purple aura was quickly eroding itat a terrifying speed, an the act was accompanied with the rancid smell of burnt flesh.

Ren watched in amazement, but it was short-lived.

Almost immediately after the wall eroded a vast amount of water burst through the corroded wall. It flooded instantly and Ren barely had time to cast 'Barrier', a light spell before the tunnel was completely flooded; the air quickly escaping in the form of bubbles.

"Damn, I got distracted. Keep focused Ren." He reprimand himself.

It would be relatively easy to solve this new problem. He wouldnt be affected by the lack of oxygen as his body didn't really need to breathe. The real difficulty here was that he had definitely attracted some unwanted attention.

You see, when Ren had woken up in the darkness, he realized that he was in the belly of a great beast. It explained of the pulsing walls, the consistently loud thumping and the pungent smell that had burned his nose.

He guessed that his body was only in one piece because of the supernatural abilities he had. Most likely when after he died the first time, his body was eaten by a sea creature, and judging from the amount of Aether his body had been leaking out over the years, it wouldn't be surprising if the animal was still alive and had undergone several evolutions since then.

Animals had the potential to evolve, but it depended on the amount of Aether they absorbed. Aether could he found in all living creatures and killing a living creature and eating it allowed for the absorption of it's Aether. It was one reason why animals evolved quicker than the humanoid races.

So now that he'd blown -or well dissolved the skin of the beast in what was probably a painful manner, chances were that Ren was due a meeting with an annoyed monster.

A loud roar rumbled through the stomach, the sheer power sending intense waves of water swirling around Ren. The roar was so intense that Ren instinctively covered his ears, forgetting that the noise wouldn't have been affected in the slightest.

'Ahh, he probably woke up didn't he?... A bit if a delayed reaction if you ask me.'

_____________

Ren used his magic to escape the sheer force of the water rushing into the wound and successfuly manuevered his way out to the calm sea. He continued to power ahead for a few minutes before coming to a steady stop.

Now a few kilometres away and far outside the range of his light orb, the vast ocean seemed dead to Ren. Even with his perception abilities he was unable to see in the swallowing darkness and unable to pick up the aether of any other lifeforms except for the massive one he'd left behind.

The monster was most likely the reason as to why there were no other sea beast nearby. It wouldn't be surprising if many creatures were terrified of even entering the range of such a creature.

Oh yeah, the monster.

Ren turned to face the direction he'd come from. He couldn't see his light orb but he could sense its familiar magic. He closed his eyes momentarily and saw through his mind's eye a faint white line coming from his heart and trailing back the opposite direction he'd rub; most likely to the orb. He opened his eye and the faint trail remained.

Ren stretched his hand out towards the orb's location and attempted to call it towards him. He felt a tug in his gut and saw the light orb approaching him at lightning speed. It floated to a stop beside him and radiated light so Ren could see a little of what was in front of him.

Unfortunately, it was not powerful or bright enough to help him right now.

Ren took an irratated glance at the spinning ball of light while thinking of a solution. After deliberating for a few seconds, he pointed his hand at the orb and ordered. "Light Orb expand... Sunshine!"

The small orb expanded until it was several hundres times bigger than it was before. It radiated a incredible amount amount of heat and light, sizzling as the water around it attempted to cool it down. As a result, a never-ending sizzling sound erupted that Ren decided to ignore.

The miniature sun now rotated much slower - providing its dazzlingly blinding light like a beacon of hope in the dead wasteland that was this part of the ocean

With the Sunshine spell in place, Ren was finally able to look at the monster that had acted as his home for the past millennium.

'...What am I looking at?'

That was the first thought that popped into Ren's mind when he saw it.

So impossibly massive and yet it wasnt even at full body length yet. Even from such a distance Ren could clearly take in the sheer size of it, and it disturbed him.

Its skin was thick and rugged, completely covered in bluish grey scales. From the monster's fins to the top of its back, the scales grew larger in size, and layer after layer each scale grew increasingly sharper than the previous one. At the top of its back where hardened ones so sharp that they could cut straight through solid metal with ease. These types of scales lined the top of its back from the tip of the tail right up its long neck and ended in an array of curved spikes at the top of its head.

Inscriptions were carved all over its body, and they pulsed blue with scary intent. Occasionally the tail of the beast would rub against it's skin as it untangled itself, and flashes of lighting occured every time.

The underwater lightning didn't even make sense to Ren, and yet it was happening in front of him. Ren was partially impressed that that he'd managed to create such a beast. Despite the fact that he'd been 'dead' for most of the procedure, he considered it one of his creations at least.

The beast, on the other hand did not share the same thoughts as Ren. Erosion spells had relatively mild effects when used on a majestic creature like this one, but due to Ren being well...Ren, the power behind this spell was strong enough to burn through the strong inner skin and actually hurt the beast.

This annoyed the beast greatly, as it viewed itself as one of the greatest and most powerful of all living creatures. And it definitely was powerful. To think that such a creature was living undetected in a place like this, Ren was slightly shook at the prospect of such a beast making it's way to the surface.

The beast, now fully ready to kill Ren for irritating him during his rest, unfurled his long barbed tail that was lined with long, skinny spines that hid an impressive durability.

Its eyes glowed a fierce blue as it gathered energy into its mouth. Ren watched as the inscriptions on its sides shone brighter and brighter. The lightning from earlier resumed, but this time followed by a booming thunder.

Its mouth opened, flexing a massive maw lined with sharp teeth that could probably chew stone. A pink tongue flicked out as if observing him in animosity.

Massive magic circles looped around the monster's tremendously large body, and dozen lashes of lightning charged headfirst into the blue magic circles, donating their power to the circles and filling them to the brim with Aether.

'It's fully prepared to kill me!' Ren realized. This behemoth of a beast was planning to go all out simply because it had been awoken from its slumber.

'How unfair.' he thought. 'Well... I guess I can fight back now.'

The beast's six tremendous fins slammed into the seabed, digging themselves in firmly as the monster prepared to wipe this irritating anf puny existence of the face of the Earth.

The attack was ready now. It opened its gaping maw, all the teeth had now retracted to avoid been blowing into bits by the sheer power of its next blast. It's eyes zoomed in onto the prey. A young human of about 14-15 years old, in tattered clothes with a bright ball of light.

In his heart, the dragon commended the boy for his seemingly decent abilities at magic, but he was the strongest, he would not lose, he was incapable of losing. He let his eyes take on last look on the boy's living form, watching as the boy reached for a strange object hanging from his left ear.

The dragon closed his eyes. He didn't want to be blinded by the light of his own magic spell.

The charging sound of the dragon activating his spell was quickly replaced by an ear-ripping noise as the dragon let loose one of the more powerful spells in his arsenal. A spell he'd never bothered to use. Simply no creature could push him far enough for him to use it.

Then the blast came.

Ren was quite a few kilometres away from the dragon, but the attack spell covered the distance almost instantly. It literally parted the water as it dashed towards its target. The lightning it generated tore at the seabed below.

The dragon prayed a silent prayer as he let the blast rip. But less than two seconds after, an intense pressure was forced onto his back, causing him to wince in pain. When he opened his eyes the blast was gone. No sign of it ever existing except for the wake if destruction it left on its towards the boy.

' The boy.'

The dragon watched in disbelief as the boy emerged from the destruction looking exactly as he did before. The only difference now was that the boy had slightly more dishevelled hair, and one of the accessories on his person was missing; His earring.

The boy blurred in the dragon's sight and disappeared. He immediately reappeared right in front of the dragon's eye.

The dragon flinched, and then shook tremendously at its close proximity to this now scary being. The tremors shook up the settled sand again, and caused a few underground earthquakes to occur.

The boy mumbled a few words in a language the dragon did not understand. Yet the pressure had not lessened. In fact, it had gotten so heavy and suffocating that the dragon's body was much lower to the ground than it was initially, almost like it was bowing down to a superior being.

It didn't want to die.

For the first time in over 1000 years, the dragon felt terror and the dear of death. The natural nstinct to survive emerged once again. An instict the dragon wished he had lost forever, because it was an instict that only awakened when there was a predator nearby.

Now tremendously terrified at the thought of death, the dragon's mind raced for any solutions or distractions that would allow it to make an escape.

An idea crossed its mind. An idea that hurt both its body and pride. The young boy watched with an apathetic look as the dragon slowly raised its head again, fighting against the heavy atmosphere. It managed to raise its head high enough and proceeded to do something the boy did not expect.

The dragon's teeth extended again. He slid his lower canine behind the upper one by changing the motion of his jaw. He then pushed against the tooth with all his might. The long canine soon broke out of the gums and fell solemnly to the floor.

The boy, momentarily distracted by the dragon's antics accidentallywithdrew the choking pressure and the dragon took this chance to make his escape. He turned a full 180 and swam away as quickly and dignifiably as he could. He was still a dragon, and naturally he was possessed a lot of pride, even after suffering a loss.

______________

Ren watched as the dragon swam away. He didn't really care. His focus was on the item the dragon left behind. It was clearly a gift to Ren, probably as a form of apology.

Ren reached back up to his ear to replace the earring he'd taken off.

45 seconds. He'd had it off for 45 seconds.

That could potentially turn into a few months without any emotions. How annoying. The beginning of his new life and he had already been forced to use his powers way earlier than he wanted. Ren felt tempted to chase the dragon, but quickly banished the thought simply because he gelt that it was a waste of time.

The earring relocked itself into place, and the floating feeling that Ren had felt disappeared, but something was different.

Emotions had been lost. Ren finally understood his mother's statement.

If he wanted to continue a normal life. He should never take off the earring.

Ren summoned another Sunshine, the first one having been wiped away because he didn't bother to protect it when the blast hit him. Along with his barrier apparently. Or maybe the barrier disappeared automatically once he took of the earring.

It didn't really matter to Ren. He just wanted to get out of this place. It was enough water to last a lifetime. He looked up at the ocean above him were he could faintly see the original sun's rays from the surface, and he dashed upwards as fast as he could. But not before picking up the dragon tooth. Who knew, could make for a descent weapon.
