Mother started to explain why we were here and to summarise its like a graduation from being in our mothers care, for the older kits today marks the last time we will be in our mothers care and the younger kits will stay with their mothers for a little longer until they are ready, me and my siblings are part of the older group so today is the last day we will be with our mother, its not as sad as it sounds after today I am officially an adult so I can leave this dungeon with my friends and explore.
I told my friends this and they seemed just as exited as I was to get out of this dungeon but our excitement was short lived, the puppy fox had come back with its mother and they didn't look happy as they walked in my direction, mother stood in front of me with her ears folded backwards when they reached me.
"What are you going to do about this?"
She sounded more conceded than her kit no wonder.
"About what?"
"About what your son did to mine!"
Mother was getting angrier by the second and rightfully so this fox was infuriating.
"There is nothing to be done, my son did nothing wrong"
"Your son called mine a dog! How is it that you say he did nothing wrong?!"
"He was simply defending himself, your son said much worse things"
Mother was starting to growl, and I could tell others around us were getting annoyed too, even my snake and weasel friends were getting angry and my siblings were growling behind me.
"I advise you leave, now"
They argued for a while and the puppy kits mom even snapped a few bites at my mother before another voice rang out.
"STOP AT ONCE! What is going on here?!"
And elderly looking fox with greyish fur stepped forwards, every one looked in his direction, then the conceded mother spoke up.
"This foxes kit insulted my kit!"
The elder looked at her then her kit and finally at me then asked a question.
"Did you insult him?"
I answered honestly I don't have anything to gain from lying except another screaming fit from that woman.
"Yes, I did"
"HAH! See he admits to it! Punish him!"
"Be quiet!, now why did you insult him?"
"He was insulting me, my mother, my brothers and sisters, and my friends"
"MY SON WOULD NEVER! He's lying!"
"BE QUIET! And what was the insult?"
His tone was vastly different between me and the crazy fox lady, it was kind of scary.
"I called him a puppy dog because he was acting like one"
It was silent except for the yelling of the fox lady, then one the fox stood forwards, a mother of two that had seen the whole thing, she vouched for my statement and also said that another of the crazy woman's spawn had insulted her for only having two children saying she had let the others die when she only had two to begin with, foxes one by one started complaining about what the crazy fox or her children had done, so many had something to say and those that didn't were glad that they didn't, and the crazy fox denied every single claim.
Two of her older children also complained about her, they were the only two to survive this long out of the five litters she'd had, the low survival rate proved she wasn't a good mother.
"Alright settle down, the elders have made their decision"
Wait what? There was now four elderly foxes in front of me, when did they get here? While I was still confused the elders announced their decision.
"This female is no longer aloud to rase any more kits, we revoke you right to have kits"
Her face dropped.
"No this isn't right, THIS CANT BE RIGHT!"
"We have received complaints about you every time you've had a litter, so you will not have any more"
She was escorted out by some of the males on the right side of the clearing and she won't be invited again, with her out of the way the ceremony started, it wasn't rely a ceremony more of a festival there was food and toys all over the place every one was having fun, many came up to talk to me saying how cool I was for chasing away the annoying female but they all mentioned how scary my smile was, that's not my real smile I swear!
Well after this I'll be free to do what I want and go where I want, the ceremony ended with the elders giving us ear piercings to put a magic stone in or something? anyways that hurt, and apparently it keeps track of your achievements and give you a new dangling magic stone, I don't fully understand it yet but ill figure it out eventually.
