Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Facade

"Thank you for the gold," Moon appreciatively said, holding her gold pouch. Inside, there was about 400 gold. 'With this amount, I won't have to worry about potions and can go all out against the Hobgoblins,' she thought excitedly. But that mood was then quickly shut down.

'Or, I can just transfer the extra to real life. No need to spend it on a game.' What she would spend the money on, she had no clue.

Finishing her monetary collection, Moon immediately went back to Ronathon to buy some more potions, with the money that was NOT the extra. Feeling COMPLACENT with her choice, she began to head out towards the Town Gate.

'Hmm. Maybe I should change my routine for today,' she began to consider.

'I usually only hunt two Hobgoblins each day, and separately at that. But after last time's incident... maybe I should change that plan. Maybe I should try fighting with two of them at the same time, and maybe, if I still have energy, I can fight a third one by itself.'

'I mean, I should start getting used to fighting crowds of monster, anyways. It seems that you seem to fight more and more enemies the higher your level is, so I should just go ahead and start preparing myself,' she explained to herself. But then, she immediately took back her internal statement. "Or, I could just stick to what I am already doing. Why would I try to challenge myself? Aren't I playing this game to relax?" she asked herself, trying to ignore a weird feeling building up in her.

"That said," she started to murmur, "when speaking of multiple, didn't I level up? I should go ahead and plug in my points. After all, this is the only strengthening method I need."

"Status Window."

'I like how my strength is looking right now, and my stamina doesn't need an increase.'

'After thinking about my last battles...' The Hobgoblin King appeared in her mind. "huu~uuh," she shuddered. 'I need to run faster. I'll also put some into intelligence, so I don't have to rely too much on potions. I mean seriously; my skills barely cost anything, but I'm screwed if I use 2 skills in a row.'

Looking back and forth, she chose her stat distribution. Instead of saving up the points, she likes to immediately put them into the stats so she can feel the progression.

[Do you want to confirm your stat distribution?]

"Yes."

[Updating stats.]

"All even: Just how I like it," she congratulated herself, thinking about how organized she is(she's not).

While looking at her stats, she was relatively close to the Town Gates, and now that she was done, she surprised herself with her walking speed, seeing as she was less than a stone's throw away from the structure. 'That rebranding took longer than expected.'

As she neared, she started thinking about what path she wanted to take. 'By the bunches of trees? Or should I go by the mounds of sands? Hah--- who am I kidding? there's mounds of sand everywhere!' she laughed at her own jest.

'...Hmm?' She looked past the passing Players and NPCs, all the way towards the gate. It seemed that a Certain Player in very expensive gear is waiting. 'Is that---?'

"You've got to be kidding me!" she gasped. Seeming to hear her voice, Godspeed lifted his head and started scanning through the crowds. "Shit!" she fiercely whispered, and hopped behind a squad of adventurers. 'I am not ready to see this Chirp(stupid).' She tried to make herself as small as possible, yet also act as natural as possible; it wasn't working.

"Please don't notice me; Please don't notice me;'Please don't notice me...." she whispered on rewind as she got closer to the gate. And the guy.

"Hey, lad." Suddenly, one of the adventurers, a Player to be specific, turned around to Moonshine. "Why are you tailing us? You're not part of our group," he stated; and a bit too loud, at that. Godspeed's eyes immediately darted to the group. 'Why do High-Rankers have such good hearing!?' she moaned silently.

Doing her best to avert her eyes, she pushed through the group and speed-walked towards the gate, her hand being the only thing separating Godspeed's eyes from her face. That wasn't enough to keep him from getting closer, though. Soon enough, Moon felt a hand on her shoulder. Trying her best to brute-force her way forward, Godspeed spun her around regardless. "Moon," he finally said. Quickly looking down and trying to suck in as much testosterone from the men around her, her Incredibly deep voice responded. "A moon? I'm sorry young adventurer, but you are mistaken about the time of day. It is still a couple of hours from sunset. Now: goodbye." Finishing the conversation as quickly as possible, she tried to walk around God.

His name isn't 'God' for nothing though, as he quickly realized what Moon was doing and stuck out his arm in answer. "I'm not talking about the time," he says sternly.

She kept on her facade. "Then I do not know why you are talking about the moon, but I really do have to go, fellow adventurer." She tried her best to push past the man's arm.

Unmoving, he brought the hammer down: "Moonshine, I know it's you."

"Now you are talking about alcohol. Look, good sir: I am just a humble Player and do not have much money on me, so if you could---"

"I can literally see you Name Tag above your head."

"..." Shit.

He slapped his face, and so did she.

"Look, Moon. I just wanted to apologize."
