Fez added, "I'm waiting for her to take her pants off to get rid of the
ants."
"Now, why don't you two perverts go play outside on the trampoline?"
Eric slowly guided them away.
They glanced at each other and ran to the backyard with a childish
fervor.
"So?" I asked Donna again.
"I… Hmm… Alright." She finally decided to share. "Last night, my mom
told my dad that he should sell the new car."
I nodded slightly as I listened. So did Eric.
"That pissed off my dad. He said that he's going to find a new job soon."
She added.
Donna furrowed her eyebrows. "... I don't know how, but the topic turned
into my mom having an affair with a rich guy and is going to leave my
dad now since he's broke."
My eyes widened in shock. "Wait, really? Midge is dating a rich man?"
Donna scowled and said, "She said no. But my dad is really suspicious
now."
"Why?" Eric was confused. "There should be a reason why he thought
that."
"Because she said she found a buyer for the car. Someone who can buy
something like that on a whim must be really loaded." Donna sighed.
"After I heard that, even I, am wondering if my mom's having an affair."
"Hmm?" I tilted my head in confusion.
"She's also sneaking around town wearing a disguise. So, yeah, that
adds to the suspicion." Donna added again. "I mean, I trust my mom.
But… now I can't do it fully, you know?"
Eric nodded and sat close to her. She leaned sideways and placed her
head on his shoulder.
"Donna. Although I understand your… reasoning. But I really don't think
your mom is a cheater." Eric added.
"Why?" She asked, hopeful.
"I mean, your mom… she's…" He struggled to say it.
I interjected, "Let's just say she has a simple train of thoughts."
"Are you saying my mom's dumb?" Donna was pissed off.
"If the shoe fits." I grinned.
"Dillhole."
"Hey, don't say that to your mom's affair partner." I scolded her.
"Otherwise I won't buy the car from your dad!"
Eric and Donna froze in shock.
"It's you?" Donna rushed towards me and grabbed my collar. I went limp
but she could pull me up anyway.
'This freaking giant.'
"What were you doing with my mom!?" She asked angrily, shaking me in
the process. I said flatly, "Calm down. Stop shaking me or I'm going to hurl on you."
She stopped for a second before shaking me vigorously for the second
time. After a short explanation, Donna finally calmed down.
"So you're just helping?" She asked, sitting next to Eric.
I held back on gagging and said, "I'm already having second thoughts
about that."
Forman chuckled and said, "It's Midge. You have to help Midge."
Donna glared daggers at him. "Why? Because my mom is a woman, or
because she's dumb?"
Eric was stunned.
I added casually, "Both."
"YOU WANT ME TO SHAKE YOU AGAIN!?" Donna stood up, but Eric
held her back before she could go towards me.
"Donna. Calm down. You're going to upset your stomach." Eric patted
her back and pulled her to sit down again.
"Ugh. I need a drink." I rolled my eyes and walked away.
I went into the kitchen and before I could grab a beer, I stumbled into
Mrs. Forman.
'Oh. Right. Can't drink. Parents around.'
I decided to take a small can of Sprite instead.
"What are you cooking?" I asked as I walked to the oven. Mrs. Forman was making meatloaf. I wanted to help, but she chased me
away from the kitchen.
"Go talk with your friends. Leave dinner to me." She said cheerfully,
pushing me out from my back.
"No. Don't send me back to the red giant. I promise I'll behave." I said
urgently.
Donna furrowed her eyebrows and clenched her fist. "Come here! We
haven't finished talking yet!"
She grabbed me from Mrs. Forman and pulled me to the couch.
…
After having Sunday dinner with all of my friends, Kelso whispered
something to my ear as we were hanging out at the porch, drinking beer
in secret.
"We're going to sneak out to the club. Are you in?"
"No. I'm going to meet someone."
"Meet them at the club."
"Are you seriously going to try to convince me to go to a club? Are you
prepared to go down that thorny road?"
Kelso was taken aback. Then, he gave up and said, "We'll still go."
"Enjoy."
They left soon after, taking Mrs. Forman with them.
It was only 7 in the afternoon. I planned to start editing the racing movie,
but my phone rang before I could go to my office. "Hello?"
"Steven. Have you had dinner yet?" Ophelia asked with a cheery tone.
"I'll make you a plate if you haven't."
I paused and asked, "What do you have?"
"Beans… and chicken."
Rubbing my chin, I said, "I already ate. But I'm going to need a late night
snack."
"Okay. I'm going there now."
I waited for her in the living room. She entered the unlocked door and
said, "Steven! I'm here!"
"Great." I grinned.
She placed the plate on the table and said, "I'm going to go now. My
family is going to go watch a movie."
Ophelia was trying to make up the missing time. The family finally
reunited after all these years, and she didn't need to be the pillar of the
family anymore.
"Wait. What about my snack?" I asked, confused.
She furrowed her eyebrows and said, "It's on the table?"
"No. I mean this snack." I pulled her towards me. She blushed
immediately.
"Steven–"
I kissed her before she could speak. "Hmm, delicious." I said teasingly.
She giggled and hit my shoulder lightly.
Her gaze suddenly turned serious. "I do want to make out, but I'm afraid
I'm going to burp in your mouth right now. I ate way too much at dinner."
I burst into laughter and said, "I'll take the risk. But, let's do it another
time. You should go to the movies with your family first."
"Do you want to come? We're going to watch the James Bond movie."
"I'm not going to impose on your family time. Go be with them." I waved
her away dismissively.
She pouted and said, "You didn't have any problems going with us
before."
I chuckled and patted her head slightly. "Just go."
"Fine!" She stuck her tongue out and left in a hurry.
Ophelia stopped by the door and turned back. "Hey, what if I come here
after the movie?"
"Then you're going to be disappointed." I chuckled and teased her
slightly. "Once I start editing, I'm going to lock the door to make sure I'm
not being bothered."
She pouted again. "FINE!" She stomped away angrily and slammed the
door behind her.
To be honest, I would definitely stop editing if she was around. But the
reason I was rejecting her was because I needed to go out tonight.
… Rust Bucket Apartment.
A motel transformed into an apartment by my building company. Two
motel rooms were merged into one, transforming the 36 unit building into
just 18 apartments.
Two-third of the units were empty since I was using them for temporary
housing.
I walked by the pool and saw the woman I was supposed to meet
drinking beer in her one piece black swimsuit.
"Hey!" She greeted me happily.
I grimaced and said, "I know you're not on the job yet, but can you at
least cover up during a meeting?"
She giggled and teased, "Is my body turning you on?"
"With that flat chest, not really."
She was taken aback by my honesty. She grumbled and covered herself
with a towel-robe.
"What do you want to talk about?" She asked, handing me a beer.
"Bea. I need to know what's the plan for Ophelia."
Bea was a law student turned talent agent recommended to me by Patty.
She was kicked out from two talent agencies in L.A because of her
straightforward personality and her unbending principle to not succumb
to Hollywood weirdness.
Also, she kicked a producer in the balls for demanding a blowjob from
her star in exchange for a role in the movie. Her body's a little muscular since she loved going to the gym. She has
freckles on her face, and a blonde bowl cut hair.
She also wore a large black spectacle that made her look a bit geeky
instead of elegant– the lenses were warping her eyes a bit.
"You mean the gossip? There's nothing much to do about it. It'll die down
on its own." She replied with disinterest.
I sighed and wondered why Patty recommended her to me.
Unmotivated, lazy, and eccentric.
'Maybe she thinks her career is over since she's kicked out of
Hollywood?'
"Are you serious?" I asked, my tone firm.
She scowled slightly and said, "Why is this bothering you so much? Or is
it because you have another girl? You don't want her to know about it?"
"Alright. We're done here." I stood up and said, "I'm going to start billing
you for the room tomorrow. Forget about the job. You're not worth it."
She sneered and said sarcastically, "I'm not worth it? You're not worth
me. You think I want to come to this town?"
This small town has made around 100 million dollars at the box office. It
also has a couple hot rising stars at the moment.
But she didn't even bother to check first before looking down on the
place.
I just walked away without minding her. She shifted her body slightly and
relaxed by the pool after I was gone. Then, I met up with the second person. A Michigan small town guy who
graduated from an Ivy league school.
This time, I went to a fast food restaurant. Fatso Burger. I sat on the
table outside with a few of the kids who went to the same school as me
since there wasn't an empty desk.
Then, the guy came. He looked quite suave, with feathery long hair and
a thick mustache.
"Hi. Nice to finally meet you. I'm Freddie. Freddie Lewis. "
"Steven Hyde. You can just call me Hyde." I returned his handshake and
he sat down in front of me.
"Is the food here good?" he asked, wearing a polite smile.
"No. It's trash." I replied with dissatisfaction as I ate their soggy fries.
"Dog food is better than this."
"You have a strong… taste." he looked down nervously and took out a
few papers from his briefcase.
"This is my resume."
"I already have your resume." I replied with a smirk.
"I know. But this is my full one."
It was a thicker version of his resume. From his work in college, his
internship in WME, and independent projects he had participated in were
all in the new resume.
I nodded in satisfaction and said, "Alright. Now, what do you have in
mind for Ophelia?"
It was a topic I asked every interviewee to think about. "To be honest, she needs to get out of this town." He replied after taking
a deep breath.
My eyes lit up. "Explain."
He breathed in relief and said, "This is an important time for her. People
are wondering about the new actress. It's better for her to go on talk
shows and promote herself. It will also help the film since promoting
herself means promoting the works too."
His answer was pretty standard. I already knew all of that.
After talking with him for a while, I realized he was just reciting interviews
talking points instead of having a clear idea about the talent's path.
"Alright. I'll think about it and let you know."
After waving him off, I went back to my house. Then, I just let myself
drop into the couch.
"They are all amateurs… Figures. No real talent would want to move out
here."
So far, I have interviewed around 10 people. But I couldn't find someone
good.
"Maybe I should base the talent agency in Chicago. The good ones will
actually consider moving there since it's still a big city."
For now, I decided to go with the straight guy. Just because he was the
only one in town.
I called him the same night and gave him an order.
"First, find me a director." "I'm sorry?" He was flabbergasted.
"I need someone with a good reputation. It doesn't matter if he never did
a full feature before."
Freddie listened and said, "You know what? I actually know a guy."
"Good. Bring him in as soon as you can. I'll reimburse his plane ticket–"
He interjected quickly, "Yo–You don't have too. He's already here."
Chapter 148: Eric's panties. (1)
[Hyde POV]
Although I wanted to meet with the director, I have to go to school first
the next day.
I breezed through most of the subject, until it was math time.
"Steven Hyde. Stay." Mrs. Ling ordered before I could get out of the
class.
I walked towards her with a smirk and said, "How can I help you today
Miss?" She crossed her arms and wore a fierce look, "It's Missus. Have you
forgotten the agreement we had last year?"
"What agreement?" I played dumb.
"About the film club." She sighed slightly.
"I'm already in another club."
She widened her eyes slightly. "Really? There's no club in your record."
"It's called the going-home club." I said with a deadpan expression.
She blinked twice, stunned. Then, she smirked and asked, "When are
you going to establish the film club?"
"I need to establish it?" I was surprised.
"A student needs to, yes."
"Then, I… won't do it." I smiled innocently.
"I expected that, therefore I already asked another student to handle it."
She replied with a slightly smug expression.
I sighed and said, "You know I like you teaching here. But I got to be
honest. I'm too busy right now to join a club."
She was taken aback by my directness.
"I have around 500 people underneath me. I have to take care of them.
So I might not even be here long."
"Wait!" She stopped me urgently. "Forget about the club. Just don't drop
out of school." "Thank you." I smiled and walked away.
She blinked slowly, wondering what just happened.
The last class for today was Chemistry.
Inside the lab, I sat next to Fez while Amy sat near me. I looked around
and didn't see Barbara– my ex.
In fact, I didn't see her, or any other girls I've dated in all of my classes
since last week.
'What are the chances of that happening naturally?'
Forman sat in front of me. I threw a paper ball at him.
"Cut it out Fez!" Forman turned and snapped. Fez widened his eyes in
shock.
"It's not me! I didn't do it!" Fez said begrudgingly.
Forman turned to me and said, "Hyde! Don't pretend to sleep now!"
"What–? I didn't do anything." I acted as if I had just woken up, which
made Forman suspect Fez again.
Mr. Warren, the chemistry teacher suddenly picked up a paper and said,
"I'm now going to assign the partner for your assignment."
Everyone was unsettled. Eric raised his hands up and asked, "Can't we
just partner up ourselves?"
"No. I'm assigning partners based on the grades. The low and the high,
so that no one will be left behind." Everyone cursed again. There were a few students inside the class that
were new, since they transferred from the burn down school. So no one
could expect their partners now.
Mr. Warren said loudly, "Quiet down! Now, I'm going to announce the
partners."
"Skaargad. Um… The foreign kid."
Fez turned to his side and saw the tall, foreign football player from
Norway who looked like a 30 year old viking waving at him.
"I'm screwed." He mumbled.
The teacher announced a few names, then it was Forman's time.
"Eric Forman. Shelly Cecill."
The blonde, big boobed girl immediately went to sit next to Forman.
"Hey! We're partners! Isn't that funny!?" She joked and touched his arm
slightly.
Fez mumbled in a low volume so only I could hear it. "Why does he get
the whore?"
Shelly was known to be quite a skank in this school. Although, no one
could claim that they had slept with her.
Finally, it was my turn.
"Steven Hyde. Delilah Mcclanahan."
I was partnered up with someone from the other school too. As I turned
around, I saw a nerdy girl with zits on her forehead waving meekly at
me. She wore thick red frame glasses, zit scars on her cheek, and she's
a little chubby. She was laughed at by the other girls at the table, which made her
quickly pull her hand back and hide.
Fez laughed and said, "Hyde. You got the dud."
"It doesn't matter. We only have to do the assignment together." I lost
interest and looked back at the board.
The assignment we got was saponification. Which meant we'll be
making soap.
"For extra credit, students could plan an experiment based on what they
have learned. The deadline is in January."
The last school bell rang after the teacher finished calling the names.
"Remember, you need to submit the first report on Friday." He added as
we were all leaving the lab.
I checked the timer and realized the episode would start in a couple of
minutes.
'So, at the parking lot? Like the episode where Donna was caught
smoking?'
Fez suddenly poked me with his long ruler.
"Hmm?" I turned, annoyed. "What are you doing Fez?"
"You set me up. You treasonous wench. As a knight, I'm going to kill you
to reclaim my owner."
"Owner?" I was confused. "You mean honor?"
"On guard!" He stabbed his ruler at me. I used my own wooden ruler to
block him. "You won't be able to clean your name! You pathetic worm!" I laughed
menacingly.
We traded blows, laughing as we were playing around. I even missed
out on the episode countdown because of it.
As we got out of the door, we saw Kelso standing beside Eric's car,
wearing gym shorts, revealing his silky smooth leg.
He rubbed his knees together, as it was cold outside.
"Kelso, what's with the gym shorts?" I asked, slightly disturbed.
"Oh, something happened. I had to take my pants off." He replied
vaguely.
"Do you shave your legs?" I asked again.
Feeling exposed, he answered frantically, "No. It's- They're just...
naturally smooth."
As Fez and I snickered, Kelso snapped and walked away
embarrassedly.
Shut up!"
Fez teased, "Not to worry, Kelso. The Puberty Bunny will visit you soon."
I turned to Fez and asked, "What's a Puberty Bunny? Is it similar to the
Period Fairy?"
"What's a Period Fairy?" Fez asked.
I shrugged, not having an answer.
Forman and Shelly came out of the door too. Shelly stopped him and said flirtingly, "So, lab partner… I guess you and
I are gonna be spending a lot of time together now, huh?"
"Yeah, Shelly. And, uh, good thing too… 'cause, you know, I just
shouldn't be alone around a Bunsen burner." Eric joked with a deadpan
expression.
Shelly laughed exaggeratedly, "That is so funny!" She stopped and
locked eyes with Forman.
"Let me go tell my friends you're driving me home."
She walked past Fez and I to go to her friends.
"Looks like Shelly has a thing for Forman." I teased him.
"Yes, and Forman has a thing for Shelly." Fez piled on. "And it's in his
pants."
Fez laughed by himself and said, "Oh, good one, Fez."
I looked at him weirdly and we walked to the side of the car. Forman
walked to the driver seat and was stopped by Kelso before he could
open the door.
"Watch. Shelly's gonna invite you over to her house when her folks aren't
home." Kelso grinned, perching on top of the car door. "That's what slutty
girls do."
Shelly came back and walked past me to get into the passenger seat
next to the driver.
"So, Eric, my parents aren't home. Let's go to my house." She said,
playing with her tongue slightly. "Huh. Don't you have a girlfriend?" I asked Forman and left to go to my
car.
"Yeah. That's what's great about it." Kelso said happily.
"See, maybe Donna will get jealous and her and Shelly will wrestle over
you." He added.
"Kelso, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard." Eric furrowed his
eyebrows slightly.
"Oh, yeah? Think about it." Kelso said confidently.
Forman began daydreaming about it.
-TV-
Inside a TV studio, the girls were standing inside an inflatable pool filled
with mud.
Shelly wore a tube top and a jean short while Donna wore her usual
black shirt and long jeans.
"He's mine!" Donna said, holding a wrestling stance.
"No, he's mine!" Shelly slapped her hand away.
"I had him first!" Donna snapped.
"You're going down!" Shelly said and attacked Donna.
But Donna could easily trip her and drop her into the mud. The tube top
almost slipped, but Shelly was still ferocious.
She grabbed Donna from behind and pulled her to the mud too, causing
her shirt to ride up. TV ends-
"Kelso, that's the smartest thing I've ever heard." Eric said after snapping
out of his daydream.
The episode recording was paused, which meant I had some free time.
After Eric left, I went to my car.
The girl I was supposed to partner up with was waiting for me there.
"H-Hey." She stuttered slightly. "I'm– I'm–"
"Delilah, right?" I extended my hand towards her for a handshake.
She flinched and lowered her head slightly. "Um, nice to meet you,
Steven." She shook my hand meekly.
"Do you want to do the project now?" I asked, showing a smile. "Should
we go to the Hub?"
"The Hub?" Her eyes widened slightly.
"Oh. Right. You're not from here. It's a place where the kids go to hang
out. The cool ones at least." I joked. "Except Fez."
"Hey!" Fez was offended. "By the way, where is my partner?" He turned
around to look.
"Football." Delilah replied with a tiny voice.
Suddenly, a few girls approached us.
"Steven Hyde, right?" The hot blonde pushed Delilah away and stood in
front of me. "Hi. You look more handsome up close." She giggled and touched my
arm slightly. Her eyes suddenly turned cold as she glanced at Delilah.
"You don't have to worry about the project. She'll do the homework for
you. Why don't we go hang out–"
"I'm sorry, do I know you?" I interjected with a cold expression. "Don't
pretend to be close to me, you little bitch."
Her eyes widened instantly. "B–Bitch?"
"Yeah, bitch." I said firmly. "Why don't you get lost? You're being an
eyesore."
She gasped, fully offended. As she stuttered to say something, Jackie
approached us with a menacing smile on her face.
"What are you doing here? Didn't I just put you in your place at lunch?"
Jackie said and hugged my arm. "Get lost."
"You–" Her eyes twitched with anger. Then, she walked away with her
friends.
"Steven!" Jackie called me childishly. "Don't talk to that slut. Pretty sure
she gave someone a rash."
I held back laughter and said, "Is that the rumor you're spreading now."
Jackie giggled and said, "Yup. It's going to evolve with her working
nights as a hooker to pay for her nose job."
"Good job." I patted her head slightly after breaking free of her embrace.
"You–" Delilah was astounded. "Jaime is really popular in our high
school. She even has a cousin who's…" Jackie snorted, "Popular? Her? Your school definitely has a lower
standard than ours. In our schools, she's just so-so."
"Jackie, don't you have cheer practice?" Fez asked with an innocent
smile, not getting what was going on at all.
"Not today." Jackie replied. "I have too much homework. I'm going to go
back and study with Donna."
"Um." Delilah spoke up meekly. "I can do the homework by myself–"
"You know how the teacher pairs up the students?" I asked suddenly.
"Huh?" She was taken aback. "It's– It's the top and the lowest, right?
I'm–"
Jackie interjected before she could say something. "Steven had the top
score at school last year."
Delilah widened her eyes in shock.
Fez laughed and said, "So you're the dumb one here."
"No! I'm– I only have bad grades because… I was sick during the finals."
I chuckled and said, "It doesn't matter now. We're partners, so we'll do it
together. I think we can complete it in an hour."
"Steven. I'm coming with you. You can do my homework too!" Jackie
said cheekily.
"I'm not going to do that. I'm not a simp. Fez might do your homework
though." I said jokingly.
Fez straightened up and walked close to Jackie. "I will do it!" Jackie rolled her eyes and looked disturbed. "No thank you!"
Jackie entered my car, sitting next to the passenger seat.
"Come on, I'll give you a ride." I said to Delilah.
Although nervous, she still came along with us.
However, we didn't go to the hub since it was full. We changed and went
to the cafe instead.
"So. Why is your face like that?" Jackie asked directly after we all sat
down on the reserved table.
Delilah flinched and her expression turned solemn.
I held my chin slightly and thought, 'Oh. This is interesting. A glow up
sequence?'
…
After finishing the homework, I stopped by my marketing office to meet
up with the first director the talent agency was bringing me.
"Hi. I'm Daniel O'Hare."
He's twenty-seven years old. Three years out of film school. Two short
films under his belt. One won some small festival award I'd never heard
of.
No feature films. No television credits.
In other words, dirt cheap to hire. Freddie Lewis sat there nervously, fidgeting with his finger as I talked
with the director. He even tapped his legs, and I could feel the vibration
travelling through the desk.
I sighed and snapped at him, "Can you calm down? You're distracting
me."
He flinched and said, "So-sorry."
The director's face turned slightly sour. As if he was mad I called out the
annoyance.
They travelled together. Freddie knew Daniel since their college days.
He recommended him, vouching he has the skill, but not the opportunity.
"Did you find anyone else?" I asked Freddie.
"No– I did contact a few agencies in L.A. I'm waiting to hear back from
them."
"Yeah, they aren't going to call you back." I snorted slightly. "That's how
they treat nobodies over there."
Daniel's face turned more solemn by the minute. His gaze was almost
glaring at me.
I scoffed and asked, "What's with the look? You think I'm looking down
on your friend?"
Daniel smiled with his lip, not his eyes. "No, I'm just admiring your
leadership. I never could do something like that, so I think I can learn a
lot from it."
"Hmm." I looked at him with amusement. "So you're not totally
spineless." Freddie gulped his saliva slightly. I turned to him and asked, "You're
representing him, right? Is he your only client?"
"Um. Yes." Freddie replied, wiping his neck sweat with a handkerchief.
Daniel was irked. He stood up and said, 'I think I heard enough. I have
some high hopes for this, since you're someone who actually succeeded
outside the system."
"Wait. Dan." Freddie grabbed his arm before he could leave. "Calm
down. He didn't say anything wrong."
"He's the same as the rest of them!" Daniel gritted his teeth slightly.
I nodded and said, "I am."
As I spoke up, the two of them slowly turned towards me.
I looked at Freddie and said, "You're a talent agent. You know what your
role is? To inspire confidence to get your client casted. If you kept
sweating, tapping your leg and fidgeting, do you think you could do
that?"
Freddie widened his eyes slightly.
I turned to Daniel and said, "As a director, you need to not shy away
from confrontation. Leaving within two minutes of meeting the investor?
Are you really that naive, or you're just an idiot who can't see the big
picture?"
Daniel lowered his gaze slightly.
"Being hot-tempered is fine. But don't be an idiot. Guide your anger to
the right place before letting it out." I let out a beleaguered sigh. "Why don't we start with watching your short film first? I need to gauge
your ability before hiring you." I said, crossing my arms and leaning back
on the chair.
Daniel blinked slowly and asked, "You're still going on with this?"
"You are currently sitting on a gold mine. I need people so I'll give you a
second chance. And maybe a third too. But don't be comfortable thinking
I'd never fire you." I smirked slightly.
"I'm just doing this because I'm just starting out. When new talent comes
in, then you might be abandoned if you don't evolve." I added.
The two of them glanced at each other for a while.
Daniel sat back down on the chair and asked, "Do you have a film
projector?"
I nodded in satisfaction and let the interview continue.
Then, I returned home before confirming anything. Freddie thought it
was a negotiation technique, but I actually needed to go back to the
episode plot.
I kidnapped Fez and Jackie with me, making them stay outside the office
until I was done. If they weren't there, maybe the plot would wait for us.
…
[General POV]
At the Hub. Shelly followed Eric from behind as they bought fries and
soda. They returned to the booth where their chemistry notes were
scattered around. "Are you sure you don't want to study at my house? I mean, it's just
sitting there all empty." Shelly asked, wearing a bewildered expression.
"No, come on, this place was made-" Eric decided to give her a hint and
shouted loudly to the crowd, "This- this place was made for studying!"
"Well, okay." Shelly kept her smile and sat really close to Eric.
Donna walked into the Hub and approached them.
"Hey, Eric."
"Hey, Shelly, look. It's my girlfriend, Donna." Eric smiled nervously. "Hi,
girlfriend Donna."
Shelly tried to cover up her dissatisfaction. "Hi, Donna." She greeted her
curtly and turned to Eric.
"You know, Eric, we'll do this later, when we can be alone." She picked
up her jacket and books. Then, she left the restaurant.
"T-To study. We were just studying." Eric said frantically.
Donna smiled and sat down in front of him, Eric, you got to hear this-"
"God! We were just studying, Donna, that's all." Eric quickly tried to
diffuse the non-existent relationship mines.
"Eric, I'm telling a story here." Donna said seriously. She giggled and
began telling the story.
"Okay. Kelso was running through the cafeteria and there were these
mashed potatoes on the floor-"
""She's just my lab partner! So, mellow out! God!" Eric added.
"Uh-huh." Donna reacted flatly. "So, Kelso slips on the potatoes… slides into a pole with his legs spread, totally wrecks himself. And everybody
starts throwing their carrots and their cheese at him…"
She raised her arms up, "chanting- "Tater nuts! Tater nuts!" It was
awesome!"
Eric ignored the story and asked her seriously, "So, wait. Even though
I'm spending time
with Shelly, you're not jealous?"
Donna chuckled. "I'm sorry, but you and Shelly?"
Eric furrowed his eyebrows, asking with dissatisfaction, "What does that
mean?"
"It means that she can have anyone." She added.
"And what does that mean?" Eric whimpered.
Donna laughed and tried to kiss him, "Oh, you're sweet."
"Get off of me!" He pushed her away and left. She burst out laughing at
his reaction, tried to grab him, but he wasn't turning back.
